I need to say thank you so much for the care you gave my best friend and little one last night. I am from out of state and Bella was having issues breathing. I rushed her to this location and they immediately treated Bella like family and made me feel so comfortable and safe. She left with the medication she needed and is doing so much better. I appreciate you all caring. She is family and this location cares hands down. I am beyond grateful!!!

Brought my pet chicken in recently for digestive issues. Dr. Benfield was amazing and was clearly familiar with birds. She walked us through each step that was needed and explained any risks. It’s great to know we have an awesome vet nearby in case there is another issue with our flock. Would highly recommend to other chicken owners.

I came here with my pet for an emergency situation, and every single staff member I spoke with were so incredibly kind, compassionate, and understanding. They gave us all the time we needed, and talked us through everything in a very calm and professional manner during a very difficult time. I would highly recommend this place.

I brought my dog after she had suddenly shown signs of pain in her rear leg and wasn't walking without a lot of prompting. Dr. Benfield was absolutely wonderful. She (and the tech) took their time with my pup to make she sure was comfortable but could still properly diagnose the issue! I was very happy with the way Dr. B explained everything she was doing and was quick to share her thoughts of possible issues. Everyone was up front about charges and there weren't any surprises at checkout. I had a very good experience here.

My 13 year old dog started having a seizure on the morning of July 4th. Being a holiday I struggled to find an emergency vet that was open but I called this business asked the prices and told them I would be heading their way with my dog and they said they would be ready for me. As soon as I got there they rushed to my car and helped me pick up my 60lbs seizing dog and bring her straight in to the back where the doctor was ready and waiting. She was seizing for a substantial time and I decided it would be best to put her down. The Doctor was empathetic, kind, and extremely professional. I’m really really glad I went here and I’m grateful they took the situation as seriously as it felt to me. She was a very good dog.

I was told by the staff I could come back for a walk in at 3:30PM once the doctors were off from break. I waited patiently and then at 3:30PM, they told me they couldn’t see me.My dog wasn’t seen, they didn’t care about the situation or him & they wasted my time. My dog is unable to see a vet now today.Rude behavior & took no accountability.

I had an emergency with my dog this evening. I arrived at this location at 8:08 pm. I called the number listed on the website because there were no cars outside. I spoke with a young lady and informed her that I was outside and she stated that the office closed at 8pm. I then informed her that the website says that the location closes at 10 pm. She also informed me that the hours had changed on May 1st , please change your hours on the website. This was very inconvenient and upsetting for me as I had an emergency with my dog.

Walked in on a Sunday afternoon and was seen immediately – the other place I called had a 3.5 hour wait. The doctor was helpful and thorough. We followed up with our vet the following Tuesday with the advice we got at VCA. Our baby is feeling much better.

My partner took her male cat here for a urinary blockage a few years back. They told her either he has to be flushed and catheterized for 3000 dollars or euthanized. She opened a care credit and paid the 3000. 2 weeks later he blocked again and they charged her another 1500 for another flush. She had to do her own research online to find out there is a surgery to solve the problem for about the same cost. They didn't even mention to her the surgical option.Remember that doctors don't know everything, and if they are set on doing something they often won't second guess themselves. Its always good to do your own research and ask them questions. Not every medical professional is the same.Sometimes they just want to treat you and send you out the door, not actually solve your problem.

Scammers. The people here act extremely dense and literally charge $180 just to get you in the door and then suggest treatments upwards of 2k without even trying to figure out what's wrong.

As grateful as I am for their help, it seems there’s a new vet every day. I had to bring my cat here every other day for a little over a week and each time was a new vet. They had no communication with each other and I was extremely dissatisfied that the tests that should’ve been done originally weren’t even thought of by the vet until day 2 of our visit. The nurses here are extremely kind and the front desk is a hit or miss. We had to leave our cat there for the morning for some more monitoring, but when I called for an update, it seems they had a power outage and I was spoken to very rudely on the phone when I just needed an update for when to pick up my cat. I asked my friend to call them and try and he received nice treatment and was immediately given a response on what time to pick him up. I was shocked at this kind of treatment. Luckily, I just went there to pick him up anyways in the meantime and he was ready! I could’ve been informed on the phone instead of such rude treatment and passive aggressiveness.

Dr. Benfield saved my little dude's life. I had just returned from a vacation and noticed he was acting funny, then awoke to him "puddling" blood. I called pre-office hours, explained the situation, and they said bring him in ASAP. I did, and Kim (vet tech/assistant, also amazing) came out and did an assessment. She took him back immediately and got an iv going. It was a bit of a wait (I did arrive before office hours, so expected), but after about 45 minutes Dr. Benfield came out and spoke to me. She explained the issue, the plan, and that he would be hospitalized for a few days. It was heart-wrenching to deal with and the empathy Dr. Benfield showed was game-changing for me. She was very communicative over the next few days, always responding within 30-45 minutes, and kept me informed. I was quite the helicopter dad, visiting at least three times each day, and the staff was very helpful and responsive. They understood what this guy meant to me, and they definitely did everything to lower my fears and to keep him comfortable as he healed. Again, Dr. Benfield was amazing; my little guy has anxieties from previous abuse and can be a little difficult, but he loves her and responded positively to her each time. The only area where improvement could be made is with some of the front desk staff and their customer service. Most are great, some can come across as standoffish and slightly rude, but they are, like everyone else, understaffed and doing the best they can. Nonetheless, Dr. Benfield is an absolute treasure, and ThomCat and I are incredibly thankful for her and the staff at VCA Midtown.
