This is one of my favorite Wayfield stores. Whenever I am in the area I always stop in to pick up a few things. I like this store more bc it seems to have a better selection of meats (price wise). The only thing I dislike about this store is the ragged shopping carts and they don't have many.

Now, this place has the meat! It is very good quality meat, and it doesn't stink in the meat section. Now, almost everything else is a little overpriced, so plan on visiting another store for your essentials 😀.

Dear Mr. Edenfield,
My name is Dametrius Daniels I am writing to formally address a serious incident that occurred on Saturday December 21 at 1:13pm at Wayfield Foods, located at 2020 Headland Drive, Atlanta, GA 30344. This incident involved violations of consumer rights, discriminatory conduct, and a failure to uphold legal obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and civil rights laws.
Incident Overview
While shopping at this location, I attempted to split my payment between my mother’s EBT card for eligible items and her debit card for ineligible items. Instead, the full amount was improperly charged to her debit card. When I brought this error to the attention of the store manager, Phil, he refused to issue a refund, citing an incorrect claim that your store does not allow refunds.
This refusal was contrary to Wayfield Foods’ stated refund policy, which clearly allows for refunds when a receipt is presented. Furthermore, Phil’s dismissive attitude and refusal to resolve the matter violated my rights as a consumer and my mother’s rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), as she is blind and relies on me for assistance with financial transactions.
Phil’s behavior also raised concerns of racial discrimination, as he appeared unwilling to provide me with the same level of service and respect extended to other customers.
Legal Violations
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
Under 42 U.S.C. § 12182(b)(2)(A)(ii), public accommodations are required to make reasonable modifications to ensure equal access for individuals with disabilities. By refusing to accommodate my blind mother’s situation and failing to correct the transaction error, Wayfield Foods violated federal disability rights laws.
Civil Rights Violations
Phil’s discriminatory conduct violated Title II of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (42 U.S.C. § 2000a), which prohibits racial discrimination in public accommodations, and 42 U.S.C. § 1981, which ensures equal treatment in contractual relationships regardless of race.
Georgia Fair Business Practices Act (FBPA)
The refusal to honor your stated refund policy and correct the transaction constitutes deceptive and unfair business practices, violating O.C.G.A. § 10-1-393.
Consumer Financial Protection
By improperly charging the debit card for an amount that should have been split, the store engaged in unauthorized transactions, violating consumer financial protection laws.
Demand for Resolution
Due to the improper handling of this transaction, the infringement of my rights, and the violation of my mother’s rights as a disabled individual, I am demanding the following:
Immediate refund of the improperly charged amount to my mother’s debit card.
Compensation of $50,000 in monetary damages for financial loss, emotional distress, and infringement upon my rights and my mother’s rights under the ADA and Civil Rights Act.
Immediate termination of Phil, the store manager, for his failure to perform his duties, his discriminatory conduct, and his disregard for the law.
Formal written acknowledgment and apology for this incident, with assurances of corrective action and retraining of store employees to ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
Next Steps
This matter requires urgent attention. If I do not receive a satisfactory resolution within 10 business days, I will proceed with the following actions:
Filing a formal complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division for violations of the ADA and Civil Rights Act.
Lodging a complaint with the Georgia Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division for violations of the Fair Business Practices Act.
Pursuing legal action to recover damages and hold Wayfield F

One of the worst stores to me, the sticker prices have been wrong on more than one occasion, some of the cashiers have really nasty attitudes, it's not a store I would recommend at all.

I go to this wayfield and I love it. I would give it a 4.5 no one is perfect. The meat prices are awesome. They had made some changes for the good. The fruits and vegetables were so fresh and reasonable. The meats are fresh and reasonably priced. The store is clean. The staff is always nice and offers great customer service. I recommend!

Honestly, I really like this grocery store. I've been going there since i was a kid. It's always clean, and they usually have enough people working the registers, and they have self checkout. Staff is nice. And they have a lot of deals. I mostly go for the meats, but my wife just loves shopping there.
