I purchased a vehicle cash money and when I got home to discover the SUV was a lemon. Very nice tahoe but the transmission was gone. I have to call to get updated on the other tahoe coming from new orleans and still haven't received it. I've been in a loaner vehicle for a week now. I'm calling cooperate today. After this I will get a full refund. This company does not get these vehicles properly diagnosed before selling the. My advice to anyone who's purchasing please get it put on a machine.

I recently purchased a 2013 Ford Fiesta from them knowing they do really good inspections on their vehicles before they sell them and I have never had an issue with any CarMax like the ones I am having nowI have to drive my car over the country so I knew I would be excluded from their 30 day or 1500 mile warranty really quickly so I was a little trusting in the fact they wouldn’t sell me an unsafe vehicleThat being said; they still proceeded to sell me a vehicle with a transmission that doesn’t properly work; where I’m straining my engine and transmission just trying to accelerate to 30 MPH making it so I’m going to have to spend the cost of the vehicle in repairs just to keep in a safe operating conditionWhen calling CarMax to see if there is anything that can be done all I’m told is “Oh well; you’re out of policy; just bring it back to us and we will see what can be done to repair the car” despite me explaining that without my car I cannot work; and explaining that I live out of state so I would have to drive 6 hours to even get my car into their service centerI would expect a company as big as CarMax to want to keep their customers happy; especially when everyone speaks about them in a good regard but then selling cars that are barely road worthy and refusing to do anything but tell you “bring it to our shop for 6 weeks and we’ll see what we can do” without giving you an alternative car and leaving you on the hook for the car payments that you can’t pay without being able to use your car for workI have spoken to several different people and only one of them has been any type of helpful while everyone is saying “oh well; you’re stuck with it” without any regards to the fact they sold a car that was barely road worthy and is closer go a death trap than a carDo better CarMax

I purchased a car last month from Carmax. I, unfortunately, was involved in an accident that totaled the car the day after.Demarco has really helped navigate what has otherwise been a total nightmare and worst-case scenario. We are working through the purchase of another vehicle now and he has really made it all much less painful than it could have been. So thankful to have been teamed up with him during this process.Everyone at this location has been extremely nice and it is different than your typical ‘dealership experience’. I would recommend to anyone.

Easily the worst car buying experience I’ve had. Sold me a lemon Range Rover. Service department couldn’t figure out the issue. Ensured me when I talked about returning the car on the 30th day that they would fix everything. Had to call corporate to get the buy back option after they had the car for over 2 months. Had I not done that, probably would still be making payments on a car just for it to sit at carmax with that service department that couldn’t deliver on what they told me.Wouldn’t refund me the money on the car, even with the extenuating circumstance we were in. Then after telling me I wasn’t getting my money back, asked me where to send a buyers order for the other car we were looking at. Absolutely out of yalls mind if you think I’m buying another car from yall after that. Hope nobody else has the experience we had.

It was easy and quick considering how busy they were on a day that they were also short staffed. My only complaint is that they aren't great at cleaning vehicles.
