My Parent's Basement is a go-to social destination for locals, and video game/ comic book fans ITP. It's the first place we met an old friend who has a career in film/TV special effects: his pick. You place your order at the counter, and they bring it to your table: nothing is more perfect for meeting up with group. No tedious check splitting needed. Very popular restaurant- and for good reason: there's something for everyone. Even if you just want to house kettle chips and beer. It's worth noting that their salads are delicious: the house with cashews, green apple & blue cheese is so satisfying that I have yet to try the other two choices (spinach, goat cheese, pickled red onion) and a Caesar with tomato (my kind of heaven). If you love salads, you know that they can go very wrong in a "bar food" setting- either anemic, dodgy bowls of wilt with plastic packet dressing - or "salads" that are so full of meat, cheese, novelty fried things that they are clearly designed for someone for whom "salad" = punishment. They have a good range of vegan and vegetarian options ( as well as gluten free). Check out their daily specials: they usually have a vegan option, & it is RELIABLY good. Like, I just went to a friend's house and they prepared something special & delicious for me from scratch- that good. (it almost pains me to give this tip because the regulars *know* the specials- all of them- are great, so they often sell out.) Stand outs: the Shay fish filet sandwich, tater tots, the vegan jalapeño hush puppies with remoulade, vegan tofu curry - and their burgers are also good. The vegan gyro was disappointing, but sine there is such an abundance of options, not a big deal. Beer, cider and mixed drink selections are solid, and reasonably priced. Serve yourself water makes everything very chill- please be aware, the waiters are busy, and the kitchen can get slammed, so relax!! Most seating is inside, two stone fireplaces keep it cozy in the winter. Lots of pinball machines & arcade games inside, along with a bar, and a comic shop. A good place to come solo - or meet friends. Great neighborhood vibe. If it was a person, it would be a person who knows who they are, is easy to get along with, has no judgement, and always serves yummy comfort food.

I'm not a comic fan, I'm not great at pinball, and I wasn't sure if I'd like the place... but we worked nearby and I fell in love with My Parent's Basement. Excellent food, drinks, and so many fun people looking for some fun and relaxation.

A great spot to have a beer and play some pinball! I had a really good time here. The staff and patrons are all very friendly. Tons of games to play, and good food as well. I wish it wasn't such an expensive trip from downtown.

Came here on a Sunday on a whim, what a cool vibe! I honestly didn't appreciate the detail behind the pinball machines at first, but they have great detail and creativity which made it fun and interesting. The service was also very polite. Beware of using quarters because they'll get stuck but the staff helped deal with these issues. Cool beer selection from local breweries.

Chicken fingers tasted like unseasoned hush puppy, not the juicy panko strips I remember. What gives? Cant go back for this anymore.

I didn't care for the ambience. The food was horrible. I never need to go back there again. It just wasn't my vibe.

Recently visited My Parent's Basement. First off, if you're even remotely a gamer, into comics, a Pinhead or just like good company and conversation, this is the place for you. The staff and the people just hanging out that I met there were super friendly and made me feel like I was a regular. Not to mention the ambience made me, a gamer and comic nut, feel like I'd found a second home Food portions were large enough that I could only do 2 appetisers and tasted good too. The staff were super cool and fun even that late at night. Even saw an instance where someone complained about too much salt on their nachos and the girl who took care of them was super cool and accommodating. All in all this is now one of my fave places to visit. Just go with a smile and an open mind ready to talk about anything from Street Fighter to Star Wars to The Dark Knight and you wont even notice the time passing

This place is so cool! Comic books, a bar with a massive beer selection and several cocktails, and vintage arcade games and pinball machines!! Great place for a date, but also kid friendly!! There were several families on the patio. They also had free comics for kids (in lieu of free candy for Halloween). I’m definitely coming back!

This was the single greatest place I have ever been in my entire life. The food was incredible, I've never had grits like that in my life, let alone after spending a hundred dollars on new comics. I feel like I dreamed this entire experience. I love this place.

Excellent barcade. Quite a few pinball machines to choose from. There are a handful of arcade cabinets too. About half of the space is a comic book store. Outdoor seating with a few food items to compliment the drinks. Had a great time!

The ambiance of this bar is certainly unique! This place is like the lovechild of a pinball arcade, comic book shop, and bar/eatery. The food and drinks were very satisfying and in my opinion, reasonably priced. The staff AND patrons were all super pleasant and friendly!I really enjoyed my visit here and would highly recommend coming in if my description piques your curiosity!

I'm an out-of-town-er visiting the area and stumbled upon this establishment! Super cool! It was pretty busy for being 4pm, but I quickly understood why. They have a solid selection of merchandise to purchase, including comic books (obviously), D&D stuff, manga, and more. They also had arcade games and pinball. From what I observed, some of the arcade games were free to play, but pinball cost money. I played some vintage Ms Pacman (and lost ?)The bar was well staffed and well stocked. I ordered a Flower Power cocktail that was super delicious and refreshing! I also ordered a rum and coke, and it was decent considering I asked for well rum. My brother-in-law spoke very highly of a canned peach mead he got; my fiance said the draft root beer was good; my sister liked her Shirley Temple as well. The pretzel was AMAZING, and super affordable too.Overall it was a great experience and is now a must-do anytime I'm in the Atlanta area!

I swear this place gets better with every visit. This time around I brought a friend from our home country of Trinidad and he spent the first few minutes walking around with his eyes bugging out and his hand over his mouth. He definitely found his nirvana. I got a German beer equivalent of a Blue Moon on tap and it was excellent and wandered a bit while he chit-chatted with everyone. It's such a great space with comics and comic themed stuff like pinball machines, arcade consoles (X-Men, hell yeah) and posters everywhere. The staff are really nice and super chill too. Alex was our server and she was great. The food really surprised me with how simple and good it was. My buddy had nachos and a burger and was really happy with both. My appetizer was the Hush Puppies with Remoulade; that sauce kicked it up to a whole other level. So so good. My entrée was the Cashew Butter Bacon and Jelly Sandwich with a side of Mashed Potatoes. That sandwich had no business being that good and the mashed potatoes were fantastic too. Great food. Great place. Great company to share it with. We shall return.

First time going, it's a cool concept having a comic book shop, pinball, food and drinks all in one. (Wish the foo fighters game had been working!) Pinball is 1.00 a play which is kind of pricey, if you do 2.00 you get 3 plays. Some take quarters, some take dollars. They also have vegan food which is pretty great so I got the vegan gyro and it was pretty solid. Tots were crispy and nice! Beer selection has a lot of IPAs, but I got The Veil Luxorious luxury Vol 13 which was pretty good. Not a bad date night spot but a little pricey!

The atmosphere is great. Everyone is friendly. The food is delicious. They have a large selection of beers to choose from. Perfect place to have a leisurely meal and catch up with friends. As an added bonus, they have pinball machines and sell comic books. I definitely recommend stopping in.
