I hate to write this because it might make them even busier! I sought them out to get a second opinion. So glad I did. Helpful, courteous and efficient. My only complaint is that they are so busy!

We were on vacation at Jekyll Island when the serpentine belt started squawking pretty bad. We knew, then, that we had to get it checked out before attempting to drive back from Jekyll to Lawrenceville, GA--a few hours of driving. When we parked the car back at the hotel, and attempted to start the car later, nothing happened. It wouldn't even start. We called a mechanic in Brunswick--closest to Jekyll Island--who was too busy to fit us in, but he referred us to Cook's Auto Repair.I'm always skeptical about mechanics anyway, especially when mechanics find out that you are from "out of town," but we had to get it fixed, period.AAA tow truck guy was able to start the car, after it wouldn't turn over, etc. for us. Since we brought our dog with us, one of us needed to stay at the hotel while the other took the car to the mechanic. My partner drove the car, with the AAA guy following behind her. We were already upset that the car broke down at all, and wondering how much it would cost, etc.Dawn and Paul put us at ease, and they are two of the most honest folks I have met in ages. They fixed the belt problem, but as I went to crank it up and leave, it wouldn't turn over, again. Paul was flummoxed, as he said it didn't do it at all for him. I believe him, as it happened to us too.We had to get back home for our jobs, pronto, and we had a dog too. It was about 10:30am. We knew it was the starter. They had the part ordered pronto and started working on our car immediately after getting the part. The labor took longer than estimated, and our heads were about to explode to get on the road home.Let me tell you, we were only charged for the labor time estimated and it took well over that time/labor estimate. Who does that anymore? Not many.Dawn also drove my partner to the car rental place, right around the corner from their shop. She didn't have to do that at all, but she did. These are honest people and very kind. That's hard to find these days. They embody "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."The cost for both replacements was very reasonable as well.Good people. If you find yourself at Jekyll or St. Simons, with car trouble, this is the place to go.

We ran into engine trouble in the middle of a long road trip and stopped at Cook's Auto while passing through Brunswick. They were super helpful - diagnosed the problem, fixed it, and had us back on the road in about an hour. Everyone was really friendly, and I learned quite a bit about how to prevent the problem in the future while chatting with the mechanic (who had seen our particular issue many times before). Overall great experience.Services: Engine repair

Thanks for charging 21.90 for 2 cans of parts cleaner that are about 2 dollars a can then on top of that charging shop supplies which includes parts cleaner. You basically made me pay for about 10 cans of parts cleaner. Not only that but charging 57.50 to clean a throttle body that y’all didn’t even clean saying y’all “cleaned it the best you could.” and the excuse was because y’all couldn’t get a hose off which took no effort at all to get off. You didn’t even touch it. Y’all tried to get me to pay 2500 for a throttle body. DON’T TRUST HIM HE IS A CROOK.
