This is the worst company to have internet service by. The service sucks, the technicians lie, and the price you’re paying for terrible service isn’t even good. I’ve been without internet for almost two weeks now because their service sucks so bad. I had a technician named Tyler come to my house today and literally do nothing. My internet still isn’t working and when I spoke with someone about that they said that he put a note saying he requested to drill and I said no. He literally did not request to drill or say anything to me the whole time he was there. When he left he said my internet was fixed and working. To blatantly lie and say you asked me to drill and I said no is not only unprofessional and ridiculous it’s also weird and unnecessary. So if you need service and see a guy named Tyler is gonna be your technician it’s a chance he won’t do his job right & then lie about it.

No one within this company talks to anyone else. They will outright lie to you about when your service will be installed.Originally I was told it would be installed Tuesday. Wednesday I call them, get told there's a charge on my account that shouldn't be there, and then get told it'll be installed Thursday. Thursday rolls around and now it'll be installed on Saturday. There's "nothing they can do." I would have just stuck with Cox if I'd have known it would take this long to have Internet in my house in 2024.

This is our 2nd attempt to patronize a local company. The first run was back in 2017 and it was terrible so after 2 months we moved on to COX. Although Cox was more expensive, it produced a “better and more consistent however still not great internet service”. We just had the new install completed just short of 3 weeks ago. Once again Kinectic by Windstream and its overly hyped “fiber optic” internet has failed us horribly. In 3 weeks we’ve only had moments of actual service and tons of emails and text messages apologizing for technical difficulties and no service! We will be leaving after the holiday to never return.

Since I moved into my house in March of 2022, I’ve had Kinetic by Windstream for my internet service. Let me telll you, they are TERRIBLE.Up until about a month ago, this was the only company able to service my area. In came Flint Energies with their internet service and I immediately switched. Not only is my bill cut by TWO-THIRDS, but I have such faster speeds and a much more reliable connection. I have had no issues with this new service and have had a great experience with their setup and customer service.On the other hand, Windstream overcharges for their service that only works when it doesn’t rain. They had to come out to our house at least five times in a year’s span to fix their connections and wiring that they left laying under our house in the rain after they claimed they elevated the wiring to prevent it from being wet or chewed. Any time you call, you speak to someone who doesn’t know what they are talking about or what’s going on. There were no discounts or reduced charges for the days/weeks that we went without service due to faulty connections set up by the company. They disabled my online account because a payment source failed on auto pay a few months ago (a payment source I had already removed and replaced). I called three separate times for them to fix the disability on my account so that I could pay my bill online, but each time they said “we can’t do that.” So, I’d have to call and speak to a representative to pay my bill each month, waiting on hold for several minutes to do so, and then be charged a $6 service fee for having to do so.I just got a call today, a month after calling to cancel my service (and then being told to call in a month to finalize that) saying that I owe the company $100 and asking if I could pay it now. I asked the representative how this was possible considering my online portal states I owe them $0.47 and that it’s due on November 6th (the day I was going to call to pay and finish cancelling my service for a total of $6.47, including their service fee for having to call to pay my bill). After a while, the lady responded “oh, I do see here where you only owe $0.47 and that it is due on the 6th. Were you going to call and pay that later?” I responded and said yes, I am going to pay that on the 6th when I finish cancelling my service with your company. I then was offered a $30/month coupon for service if I continued using their company.Honestly, I would rather not have internet at all than ever have to deal with Kinetic by Windstream again. Dealing with their company is absolutely ridiculous. Really, they owe me so much money for my own service and processing fees, for the amount of time I’ve wasted troubleshooting their faulty connections and waiting on hold to pay them for allowing me to pay my bill.Beware!

Very unhappy with my service from Kinetic by Windstream. Every few months our modem fries from a storm. We have been unplugging it every time it storms. We were not at home and it stormed so there goes another modem. When you call they tell you at least 3-5 days before a tech can come out and then last night they say they will fed ex us a new one but it will take 3-5 days. I have yet to see where my bill reflects all the day we have go with out service. I have had service with multiple different internet providers at different homes and I can say this is by far the worst service I have ever had. The wires need to be upgraded at out road and we were told that by an employee, the wires need to be ground. There are just multiple issues. I can't wait until we are able to switch providers. I have a feeling Windstream is about to lose a lot of customers once fiber has been installed in their service areas due to this poor quality of service.

Extremely unhappy with the service. Aug 21, technician came out to fix the internet after not having it for two weeks. That day internet started working. But phone didn't work for almost two weeks. Technician came by today, fix the phone after finding out had cross lines. So basically my phone number would keep ringing and seen I had a different phone number. Now today, phone is fixed but internet is slow like dial up. Extremely unhappy with the service. Rather be on Cox and pay more than Windstream. And everytime they came out to the house there is a cost......which hasn't been totally fixed. Time to move.

We stupidly changed to Kinetic after already having had a bad experience with windstream. We live in a new construction area of our town. We have had our lines cut twice now due to the employees burying the line poorly under ground right in the midst of an area they know is under construction. We are now being told it will be a week before they restore our service. No supervisor even seems to be available and their call center is outsourced. Do not use them.

Filing a formal complaint with the FTC against Kinetic by Windstream! The worst service we’ve ever been provided from a company! The internet is literally down almost every single day! I have proof of this! The customer service representatives are not helpful! Outsourcing your company to a country where the representatives don’t understand your clients and customers is a horrible business decision! Class action lawsuit should be filed against this business entity!

I wish I could give them 0 or minus. These people are liars, frauds and unprofessional. The installation guy put the wire all over my lawn and going across the driveway saying someone would come and burry it under my driveway within 7 days. nobody came. I called on the 9th day and after having spoken to 3 people on the phone for 2 hours , the last person, Gina, promised me that someone woulld come on Monday (yesterday) from local and fo the job. Nobody came. nobody called. Today, I have been on the phone as I write this, for 2 hours, and nobody was able to solve. They are out of the box LIARS. DO NOT ge them.

If I could give a 0 I would. This is the worst internet and customer service I have ever experienced! The office in Byron has absolutely No customer service and will transfer the call to the foreign call center in aheartbeat. They are NEVER able to help me. My service has been going out weekly for the past 3 months. At one point it was out for 2 entire weeks! If you are thinking about using this service...DON'T! I have contacted Cox and will be swapping service next week. Currently my service is down, again, and my hold time to this foreign call center is coming up on 40 minutes. I'm wasting my time at this point!

If I could give negative stars I would. NO ONE in Byron will answer the phone. They are NEVER there and DO NOT care. All they care about obviously is signing people up and then you are on your own. BUYER BEWARE. I wouldn't wish this company on anyone.

Constantly goes down; sometimes for days. Its like donating money because you basically pay for internet service that you don’t have for chunks of each month. And if it goes down on a weekend, expect it to be down for the rest of the weekend and plan for wherever you can go to get free internet.

They laid fiber optic in byron, amd a rep stopped by the house. I talked to him, and decided to change from cox to kinetic due to the price and the offer I was given. Set up install for Jan 12, 2023. They installed at the house, and tried to feed the wire through for about a cpl of hrs with no success. Told they would have to get a wire vacuum or something like that to finish the job. They told me someone would get a hold of me in a wk or 2. Well needless to say it's now March 7, 2023 and I havnt had anything finished, and havnt heard ffr9m anyone. I have called them 5 times and get told c9nstruction will be done shortly. Now I just called amd get told construction will be done at the end of March. This is unexceptable!!! If I'm not hooked up in March I'm done!!! I wouldn't care if u offered me free service for life. Atchison rate I may not have service till Christmas, of 2024!!!!!!
