My family has had accounts at Cohutta/Synovus since the late sixties. Some of their current staff have been there since late sixties/early seventies. They are all very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I would recommend this bank to anyone.

Very unprofessional people running this bank.Was told I would hear something in a couple days about a frozen account of a deceased loved one. Over a week later I go back to see what had been decided and was told they had slept since then and didn’t remember. Was told to talk with another person in training because they were busy.Person in training wanted the same paperwork that was provided to original person who made copies. She asked the original person for her copies and was told she didn’t know what she had done with them. I told her she put them in her desk drawer before I left. I ask why I didn’t get the call I was promised and was told this person had a lot going on with new business accounts and other things.They want you to go through probate which cost several hundred dollars just to close a loved ones account that has less than $700 in it. Very unqualified people running this area of the bank.Would highly suggest using a different bank. Guess the bank gets to keep the money if you don’t want to spend hundreds of your own getting theirs.Was told by probate that the form I was given should be accepted after it was notarized since the $ was less than $10k and that were one of the banks that did accept it.Would never use this bank!!!!!

Never had any problems but i will say they are slow at the drive through. I get an hour lunch and i know if i have to go here for any reason its gonna be a while. Sometimes its simple, but sometimes they walk away and your staring at the glass wondering where they went and when youll get your money. Also ive deposited my checks here before and it takes 4-5 days for it to be in your account and not be pending. The branch in calhoun only takes a couple days for your check to be in your account. Overall i go here when i have to but i dont like going. Theyre will be no other cars at the drive through and ill still sit 20 minutes to cash a check.

I had not used a bank for over ten years. Did all my purchases cash or prepaid debit card. About fifteen years ago I decided it would be safer and more economical to open a bank account. People I knew banked with Cohutta and recommended them. I invested some time in deciding which bank would be my best option. The most important quality of any business, especially a bank, is the people who work there. Cohutta (now Synovus) is the best fit of any bank I've had experience with. The folks that wait on me now were there when I opened my account. I am probably one of their smallest, most basic members. I feel like a millionaire when I walk through the door, call, or pull in the drive through. They have seen me through some difficult times. I enjoy the way Vicki, Cathy and the other tellers visit with myself and others. Tonya (Loans) and Gwen (Relationship Banker) are there for support and advice. I even know some of the people at the call center by name and they know my name. Bookkeeping department goes the extra mile to answer questions about account activity I think they know everyone in town by name, Reminds me of the line in the Roger Miller song "King of the Road". "I know every engineer on every train, all of their children, all of their names.." How are you doing ? How is your family.? New baby or grandchild ? Sports/activities/awards ? Family member sick or hurt ? Loss of loved one ? I am thankful for my Cohutta/Synovus banking family.

Company i work for does business with Synovus. They received a letter letting them know that if a customer calls and ask a question, they could/will be charged. Avoid Synovus forever.
