Nice store with huge buffet, and to upgrade it further, I want bilingual Japanese-English signs, flyers, and website support, a Bento Box station, onigiri station, lots of furikake, locally made foods and snacks, and chocolate cornets.

There are things I like about this Ingles and things I don't. Recently while at the deli section my husband was wearing his mask and a young guy started talking loudly and rudely about how stupid it is to wear a mask and complaining about vaccine mandates and how stupid everybody was that got one. Employees that are not medical experts or scientist should keep their political opinions to themselves. Actually no matter what, they should keep their opinions to themselves and just do their Jobs.

AWFUL! They have recently changed their hours but haven't mustered up the common courtesy to correct them on the website. I got there a little after 6PM and they were closed (the website currently states 9PM). An assistant was there but completely ignored me..... and - several of these assistants (past and present) - welcome you with nothing more than a surly attitude. Ingles' rewards program pales in comparison to others (like Kroger's) - so it's really not worth the hassle. I'll definitely be looking for another pharmacy soon.

Breakfast - bout 830 am It's not that everything was bad - eggs were runny and the grits were beyond bland. The breaded chicken tasted like fish. I think they did fish last night and deep fried breaded seasoned chicken in the used fish oil this morning. I had the wife taste it and she said "Ewwww fishy chicken". We were back on the road or I would have walked back in there for a refund from the mngr. We had the dog w/us and he refused it. I was astonished - completely. Bacon was good, sausage biscuits were good also. Had to go to the gas station to get coffee sorry to say. I really don't like starbucks super strong coffee. Too much caffeine and way too much sugar in most everything they make. I am not a millennial or 6 year old. I like food and drinks w/o all that sugar/fake crp. You NEVER use fish oil for frying anything but fish. Gross Fishy Chicken bleeeehhhh. Deli MNGR should ck into this. I promise others noticed the fishy chicken and might not come back.

I have to admit that I'd rather go to this Ingles than the one in Franklin. It seems that they have a better variety here. I've been shopping here off and on for about six months, and I'm beginning to find out where all the goodies are. So, if you're a newbie, realize that their brains may not think like yours. For instance, I would put every single gluten-free frozen food in the same place. But you will find GF pie crust right beside the regular gluten-filled crusts. Similarly, I found a gorgeous gluten-free cake close to the old favorite frozen Pepperidge Farm cakes and fruit-filled turnovers. (MAN, those were good; I miss them!) Some cheeses are found in the same area where veggies are, and some are all the way at the other end of the store, in the dairy section. If you LOVE you some Palmetto Pimiento Cheese spread, as hubby does, be aware that it is also on the last aisle in dairy, instead of on the back wall on the other end, where you will find Ruth's, etc. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I really have enjoyed all my interactions with them. The store is always clean, as well. Check it out for yourself! I think you'll like it.

I'm not always content with the ice cream selection. Let's have some Bryers chocolate peanut butter and Mayfield chocolate peanut butter. Other than those two, the selection is very good.

I've noticed on multiple visits that many employees don't wear their masks properly. They don't cover their noses. I quit going to deli after employee breathed on my order

Ingles posted that face mask are required in all ingles stores now. Apparently ingles in Clayton either did not get the notice or does not know what the word required means! A large percent of shoppers were without masks, and the management response was "what can we do?" Really? Maybe ingles managers should take lessons from some other stores requiring masks (including the ingles in Franklin) to see what they can do to protect the Rabun county shoppers.

This is the best overall grocery store in Clayton, they have a good selection of items and specialty stuff. They have a great salad bar and hot food items too. Alas they are also the priciest as well, but good things come at a cost. Get the staples at WalMart and do your splurge here.

More crowded than I'd like to be. I don't buy anything here that often unless it is on sale or if need to get some food for it snowing. Clayton is too busy for me sometimes, so I go to piggly wiggly sometimes because it is closer to home or I go to the dollar general. I hate lines. Just don't buy a to go plate there or get anything for the deli if it looks like it's been out too long.
