Read the contract carefully at the counter before you leave. They will try to upsell you with insurance and gas options as well as toll options. Once you leave the desk they won’t refund your money because hey, you accepted the terms at the desk. Never again Avis.

Checkout counter was fine. But when we went to get the Expedition, it wasn't there. So a person "Found us an expedition", when leaving, it wasn't the right one.Roof leaked in the back.Transmission slipped in the hills.Rear wiper was literally falling apart.Front wipers weren't safe in the rain.Lift gate didn't operate properly in the back.The worst maintained rental I've ever had.Went to drop off, tried saying something to the person. She literally just shrugged and said "You might be able to say something inside but I don't really do any of that".I couldn't find anyone inside...

Worst customer service I have dealt with. We went to book a car following a flight delay that caused us to miss a connection. We made reservation online. When we got to the counter, we were told we needed a 2nd photo ID in addition to our drivers license. We did not have that nor have we ever been required to have a second photo ID to rent a car. Eventually, they accepted a scanned passport that we were able to access from our phones. We had small children and asked for a booster seat. We were told they would give us one and we paid and agreed to the rental. When we got to garage, we were told there were no booster seats. We were not provided a detailed explanation of charges at the time of rental and no paperwork with the rental. We got a piece of paper with a stall number and the keys. Upon return, we realized we were charged for roadside assistance coverage which we had not approved. I would never rent from Avis again at the Atlanta airport. Our local Avis was great upon our return and confirmed that we should not have had to presented a 2nd photo ID. I placed a call to corporate customer service and was told "some branches like to make it difficulty for first time customers". Well this first time Avis customer will never be a repeat.

They won't tell you they will charge you extra fees until after you turn your car in. Do not use them.

Wow! The ATL staff is amazing! I have never felt so at home. The counter staff are knowledgeable, courteous and very efficient. I left the counter with a smile both occasions!

The onsite staff were great. I didn’t get the vehicle I was promised and I had to wait and they charged me a whole day for being forty minutes late on the return.

Make sure you ask for a print out to see what you are being charged. I was charged $30/day for insurance I specifically said I did not want. I was logged in only 5 minutes late and I was charged an extra day and a $16 late charge. I complained and they removed the late change and additional day but I was stuck with the $31/day. Please ask to see printout before leaving the counter. I will not be using Avis again. I will say the car was nice and the intake person was very nice but he charged me the extra fee. This is at the ATL counter

The pick up staff was very kind. When I was looking for the vehicle they did not bring me the vehicle but told me it was the one parked on the right, which seemed strange to me since the others were brought to them. I was given a vehicle with one of its tires leaking air. The tire pressure dropped from 36 to 23 and then to 22 in a matter of minutes. That gave me break to get to the hotel parking lot. They suggested I change the tire myself at 10 pm. Subsequently, they offered to send someone to do the change and continue my trip with a spare tire. The person arrived and made the change at 11:30 pm. However, I insisted that I needed to have the tire replaced and another vehicle provided, and arrangements were made for the next day to change the vehicle. The new vehicle delivered impressed me with its comfort, space and fuel efficiency. However, on the day of vehicle delivery, I was charged a fee that had been repeatedly questioned prior to the exchange, which was disappointing. I am taking steps to seek reimbursement for the improper charge.

The Avis vehicles from Atlanta Airport are some of the worst. The last few times I rented vehicles from that location they smiled like cigarette or Marijuana smoke, the inside of the vehicles was dirty. My last rental the windshield wipers needed to be changed to the point the vehicle was not safe to drive during a moderate rain. The service vehicle light kept coming on. I was very disappointed.

Would give zero stars if I could. This place was terrible. Despite having the highest level status there we no cars available and the lines were very long and not moving. I flew in on 3/11 in the evening and it was a disaster. The mobile app had no cars available. I ended up booking with Hertz and going across the airport to get a nice car in a faster amount of time.

Disgusting business practices. Stay away!!!I paid for a 2-day rental, declined any additional add on services. They altered my agreement AFTER I sign and secretly added on additional charges (damage waiver and fuel) that I did not authorize or agree to at the time of rental, just to find a way to keep my deposit fee. I also declined fuel options up front because I always bring my tank back full on rental. Customer service was zero help. Despite informing her of this issue, she doubled down and insisted that I could only be refunded 50% of the additional fees. Fees that I never asked for or authorized them to charge me for. Fees that were not disclosed to me at the time of signing. I have all receipts saved including my signed agreement timestamped, along with the sneaky alterations they tried to make after I had already jumped in the rental and left their booth.I will be filing claims through every avenue necessary until Avis acknowledges their fraudulent behavior and refunds my card for the overcharges.
