Made a reservation for car rental on Thursday for the following Monday by calling directly to the Columbus, GA location. They gave me rate of $102 for the 2 days but faked to send a confirmation. On arrival they wanted $102 for one day. The clerk became aggressive and rude when I wouldn't sign at the higher rate and the manager had to get involved. In the end they increased my rate to $126 for the 2 days.With no transportation and no ride I was trapped into bearing the cost for their mistake and treated rudely and aggressively by the clerk to top it off.

BEWARE!!!!!!! Horrible service in person and over the phone. I will NEVER rent from this company again. When I got my rental, the car smell like smoke throughout the vehicle. And when i try to exchange the car no one was at the counter to do so from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Closing time wasat 9:30pm. I had to go buy spray to cover up the horirble smell. Needed the car for an extra day and was told one thing and got charged for another. The charges was never explained correctly with an extra day added. This is the first and last time dealing with them. Please do not rent from them

Terrible customer service, had them charge me 'late drop off fee' when I returned the car the same day as picking it up? After calling them the next day have 2 people treat me extremely rude as well and eventually hang up on me.

They couldn’t honor a confirmed reservation. They’ll take the reservation but cannot manage their fleet in real time. Yes, this happens in 2023. Loyalty means nothing apparently.

Whomever was working by themselves at the counter tonight (05 JUL 2023) was extremely rude. I get that phone service services tend to be spotty sometimes but he seemed to be aggressive against me for asking a couple of simple questions. There was absolutely no accommodation for my sake which is fair and not guaranteed, however, it was the fact that he simply did not give it some time to process. He cut me off a lot and hung up both times. If I could give this company ZERO stars I would. Blessings.

Came on May 24 when it first opened. There was no line but the two individuals working that morning were amazing. Since I am only getting back to doing this review a few weeks later I forgot the woman's name sitting on the far left of the AVIS center when facing the desk. She was amazing and patient when it came to my anxious self trying to juggle 3 kids and stop them from acting out. She was even going to let my kids play with her little stress ball thing. But I told her she should keep it for more frustrating guests hahah. Anyway. I sure hope she sees this and is recognized for it. I absolutely loved her energy and her attentiveness to my receipt to fix a pricing issue.

Great customer service here! I went one day when their computer was down and waited close to an hour to get service and I still had no complaints. They are very courteous and helpful. Oh the cars are good too.

They denied me a rental car because I am under the age of 25. I am in the military serving active duty and Avis headquarters said they rent to military under the age of 25. They still wouldn’t allow me to rent and this place has terrible customer service

If I could leave a zero, I would. The rudest customer service. Clearly do not care and the mouths on those employees. God forbid they put their cell phones down as well. Had reservation, had no cars. Wait list with 22 people on it. Whats the point in a reservation. NEVER RENT from here. HORRIBLE service.

Avis preferred customer who has rented from numerous other locations without issue. Unable to accept a state issued driver's license because the scanner gave a "yellow smiley face". Manager unable to determine why and required a 2nd photo ID which would potentially also be denied upon his determination.Follow up: provided a passport and the 365ID machine wouldn't read a passport. It appears the reps have no technical knowledge on how to utilize the scanner nor are they able to troubleshoot the issue further than asking for yet another form of ID.

I always use Avis for my rental needs…but this past weekend was the worst experience ever. I initially booked through Priceline for the discounted rate only to be told when I arrived that they didn’t have the vehicle and Priceline wasn’t authorized to promote that particular class of vehicles. So I had to get what was available. I was told that it was only a $30 difference. I returned the rental and received a bill for $1000.00. For two miserable days!!! that’s robbery. When I called customer service no one could explain too me what these charges where for. On my bill it said miscellaneous…whatever that means. I was hung up on twice by customer support and nothing was resolved. I feel like at this point I need a lawyer.

Poor service, apathetic, no concern for customer needs. I made a reservation and twice they don’t have a car for me. The manager does not do his job. Avoid Avis Budget here. The reviews rating is accurate. They don’t care except preserving their own ego at the expense of the customer.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!Extremely disappointed. Rented previously from this company and they are still taking funds from my card for courtesy fees! On top of charging me almost $200 extra. Never will I use this company again. Worst experience ever.
