Historic Westville Village is a living history museum that conserves both the material and the intangible culture of the nineteenth century. The Village is an open-air, living history museum located in Columbus, Georgia, and recreates the real life of the ordinary people of the mid-nineteenth century deep south. The reimagined museum site will serve as a center for learning providing immersive historical experiences, workshops, classes, and residencies to residents and visitors. The site will revitalize the craftmanship of the time period to foster a future generation of artists and preservationists. This location is ideal for educational field trips, group tours and family reunions, weddings, film productions, and special events.
Pleasing temperatures today made for a delightful visit especially with Ethel in the general store! She was very knowledgeable and gracious with her time and attention. This hidden gem of a historic community is the best kept secret in the area. Thank you for keeping history alive.
