We bought two Toyotas from Rivertown and with them we also bought service agreements. Big mistake. The service department is inefficient and criminal. So much in fact that we started taking our vehicles to other dealerships that were significantly farther away. Our service appointments at Rivertown always run over, way over. Usually by at least an hour and we have always made appointments. On top of this, we have been told that 'additional services' needed to be performed. Some with costs over $1000 that were not covered under the service agreement or the warranty and these were on cars with under 25,000 miles and less than a year old. Whenever they told us additional services were needed we would take our vehicle to another dealership and pay them for a second opinion. In multiple times of doing this the other service centers have told us there was no issue.Just today, I sent our 20 year old son to take the car in for a service I had scheduled. I put in specifically that they were only to do maintenance covered under the service agreement. They performed additional services and then tried to charge him for those services. He alerted me and I forwarded the email from the appointment confirmation Rivertown sent me. They tried to make excuses like they didn't see that message when they pulled up the service info and guilt him into paying but he did not pay. It's funny, we don't have these problems when I (an adult male) take the car in but when our son (who just turned 20) or my wife have had to take it in they have tried to pull one over on them several times.Once our service packages are used up we will not use their service center anymore. Even now we only use it when we absolutely have to because we don't have time to drive to another Toyota dealership.

Fyi... nothing further came from their comment to look into situation. Just like when I expressed concern over various parts of the transaction during and after.

Had some problems with my van right before a cross country move. I was so stressed, but called and spoke to Rich who got me right in and fixed my car right away. It ended up being a super easy and relatively cheap fix. We are so thankful!Service: Battery

My appt was at 2:15 I came early around 1:36 and still didn’t leave until 5:30. The service tech (Tina Alier) calculated my amount wrong and when I was trying to explain to her she was wrong she just kept rushing and over talking me so I paid the 99.61, went to my car and calculated the mistake went back in and a nice gentlemen (Tai’jah—I may be spelling his name incorrectly) corrected the amount to 67.21. Then I drive around the front and one of my hubcaps was off went back saw my hubcap still in the service parking lot. Went and told someone who said oh well it’s time to replace them and had to explain yes they had a few exterior cracks but nothing that hindered them from staying on so now I’m riding around with no hubcaps until the order of replacements come in. The same nice gentlemen who corrected my price was the same person who ordered the new set. If it wasn’t for him correcting mistakes I would’ve left completely upset. Thank you to him and everything he did. Toyota’s are GREAT cars but over the years the servicing department has became horrible. Once before they got black oil debris all over my tan interior and I had to bring my car back for a complimentary shampooing in the spot they messed up. Another time they said my battery needed replacing so I paid the extra 50 something dollars but they only cleaned corrosion off the battery. It’s just a gamble with the service you may or may not receive.Services: Tires

Would give them 0 stars is if could. The check in advisors are all very nice. Do not go unless you have 4 hours to wait on an oil change.Service: Oil change

candywlanierI made an appointment online for service. When I arrived there was no one in the service bay to direct me where to go. I got out and asked someone who pointed me in the right direction. Once in the service lobby there was no one to check me in right away. After a few minutes I was greeted and checked in. The advisor told me he would put me in Express, whatever that meant. I just needed a tire rotation. After an hour and a half of waiting I went to the counter to ask about the status. I was informed they were short staffed and 3 hours behind. I don't understand why they accepted the appointment and why they didn't at least inform me or the other frustrated customers of expected wait time upon arrival. I told him I just wanted my 4Runner back and I would go elsewhere. I was told they were working on it at that point and should be finished soon. It was after another hour and a half that I inquired again. Again, it was "almost finished". It took three and a half hours to get a simple tire rotation. I will NEVER go back to that dealership again. I usually go to LaGrange Toyota and should have never changed that. Lesson learned.

I scheduled an appointment to have my truck serviced at 7:15 this morning. All I was having done was an oil change, tires rotated & balanced, and I added the wheel alignment when I got there. I waited for 4 hours and the service status hasn't changed from "arrival". I visited the service tech to find out what was my status, to learn that nothing was done. What is the purpose of making an appointment? I will not be using Rivertown other than have any recall work done!

So my mother-in-law took her Avalon in for a simple oil change. She did not request any additional services to be done to her vehicle. Yet she was told she needed new brakes, alignment, rotors shaved, tires, etc. So a supposed "multi-point" inspection was done along with a supposed "basic diagnostic". What kind of scam are you running there? Mr. Fuller tells an elderly lady that her brakes are a number 2 and 3 and are dangerous? That her tire tread and rotors need to be replaced??? Funny part...When I checked the vehicle and measured depth, the brakes came out to perfect scores and the tired tread was perfect. Then had the vehicle inspected by a trusted dealership and people who verified it. Then you told her 59 dollar oil change and charged her 98.70????? I WILL BE IN TO GET THIS FIXED. HOW DARE YOU TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ELDERLY WOMEN. THEY COME THERE IN TRUST OF YOU!!!! BE BETTER!! See ya soon.

I bought a used vehicle from Rivertown in 2021 and purchased the MAP warranty they offered (4/4 star coverage). A little over a year and a half later, my engine kicked the bucket and needed to be replaced. Decided to use Rivertown's Service Center because the warranty company said we had to bring it to the dealership where it was purchased (even though the warranty itself says you can bring it to any "licensed mechanic"). Vehicle was towed there in January and remained there until June. The service manager said the warranty company wasn't holding up their end, the warranty company said the service center was up-charging them for labor (3x the labor hours of a typical engine replacement). I don't know enough about the process to know who was telling the truth but either way, the problem traces back to Rivertown who provided both the service and sold the warranty to us. What should have taken no more than a week or two to repair turned into an 18 week job. On top of that, we ended up having to pay $1600 towards the engine repair labor (which was supposed to be covered by the warranty company) because they refused to pay for some of it and we were stuck footing the bill in order to get our vehicle back. The only reason this is a 2 star review instead of a 1 star is because Tre, the supervisor, was incredibly polite and made the process of getting a loaner very simple. Each interaction we had with him was a positive one.I would not recommend using Rivertown Toyota's service center if you have a choice. Phenix City Firestone is an exponentially better run repair shop and is not far from Rivertown.
