“I’m so excited to have another opportunity to visit this AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL little boutique! My husband is in the Army and we transferred to Ft Drum NY 3 years ago sadly leaving behind my FAVORITE place to shop for ALL my fashion needs! I’m simply not a shopper and do not enjoy malls. But one day several years ago I stopped by New For You and was completely blown away by the entire experience! It was like walking into a little piece of heaven on earth! So peaceful and pleasant! All of the clothes I’ve purchased are BEAUTIFUL, brand names that simply make my life so easy to walk into my closet and pick out an outfit to wear. Whether heading to a social or on a date with my husband- these clothes are top of the line, like new! My favorite part is that the ladies who manage New For You, lovingly do all the hard stuff for you! Given the depth and variety of contemporary options, it’s impossible to leave unsatisfied! They don’t give you any “bad options” so you cannot leave without feeling like your time and your needs sincerely mattered to this beautiful little shop! “I’ve been going to Plato’s Closet for a while now, it’s one of my favorite stores. The staff is friendly and helpful. The place is well-organized, and has a good selection of affordable clothes.

When I’ve brought clothes in to sell, they’ve been fair and clear about what they can and can’t take. They have specific guidelines and current stock needs, which makes sense. They can’t accept everything, but they do their best to offer a fair price for items in good condition that they can use.

I’ve seen some reviews saying they’re unfair based on race, but I’ve never seen anything like that. Using race in this scenario doesn’t add up. If I see someone else get more clothes accepted I don’t assume it was based on the color of their skin, I just take my bag and move on. The store is just trying to manage their inventory and offer the best selection to customers.

I’ve found some great pieces here that I love, and I appreciate the sustainable aspect of buying and selling second-hand.”
