Parking spots usually turn over quickly enough to grab a spot without much of a challenge. Postal workers have been helpful volunteering options for mailing items requiring tracking.

Mr. Lawrence is the best, hard working employee I have ever met not only at this Post Office but anyone I have ever been to. He deserves a raise asap!!

Easily one of the worst USPS offices and or areas I've dealt with constantly being late on deliveries, missing packages. The late deliveries is the most frustrating because it's usually the driver doesn't get to the office of our appt complex in time or a vehicle is parked in a mildly inconvenient spot so it makes their attempt undeliverable. Simply pathetic.

The service there is a joke. I can’t get anyone to answer the phone or give me an answer as to why my package was “lost” but is out for delivery today. Maybe they should hire more competent drivers, it’s ridiculous.

If in Columbus stop by, raise your head and look at all the very nice features this building has. And also look for archtectural detail of surrounding buildings.

I feel disrespected by this building due to their complete disrespect for OUR Nation's flag. Please take care of this awful issue.

I went to this branch to mail a package I'd been putting off mailing since March, but I needed the money (clothing return) so I went. There were no employees at the desk, only a bell. After ringing the bell several times and saying "hello?!" loudly someone finally came out, and she was NOT wearing a mask in the middle of a pandemic. Since the mask is to protect others, moreso than oneself, she was clearly stating that she does not care about others. I should not have to risk my health and life to mail a package. The fact that USPS are not wearing masks shows that they don't mind getting their customers sick and spreading disease and that we have an epic failure of government leadership in the pandemic. If you care about your health and are trying to NOT get COVID-19, avoid this place!!!

Very helpful staff. However, I paid about $8.00 for certified mail a month ago to established, easily locatable mailboxes in Lake Bottom Park. I got both letters back this past week marked "return to sender." I've sent mail there before without issue. They wouldn't offer me a refund and apologized for the problem. Completely useless service now. Thanks for scamming me out of $8.00 to do a job you didn't do.

My family and I went to apply for my daughters passport at the downtown location here in columbus, ga (31901 zip code) the postal worker refused to file our passport due to an error on my daughters birth certificate. The birth certificate stated my maiden name only not married. The postal worker went on saying it is inaccurate and that it could mean that I cannot prove paternity. We called the number on the form and it was confirmed that marriage certificate was enough if submitted with paperwork. We went back to explain the matter but the postal worker wanted nothing to do with it. We went to the local government center and they said that the birth certificate is accurate. The older postal worker should know this and not send parents on a goose hunt and refuse filing especially in a military town. Very annoying and time consuming.

Very helpful staff-I do wish there were more of them behind the desks when lines build up, but overall a pleasant experience going into this historic building. Street parking is very limited, but there is a large church parking lot adjacent to post office and no signs say say church parking only. Located in the heart of downtown.

Shocked. To be fair, I'm bitter on government offices. In my experiences with government employees, most just don't seem to want to be there (agree we all rather be off rather than working), but have attitudes to boot. Attitudes that would get those of us in the private sector fired. And then there is 12th street USPS. I have to say, I was amazed at how nice and helpful everyone was. Mostly dealt with Jasper who not only walked my wife through a passport app, but walked through it again when i walked up late. Told us exactly what to do, filled out a postage page envelope for us to use, got us the stamps we needed for it and in general, and set us up for priority mail for a package going out. This guy was absolutely on it. Kudos Jasper (and Jasper's boss), you are the POST-er child for customer service, public or private!

Beautiful building with good, knowledgable, and hard-working staff. From what I have experienced, they are very nice and do all that they can to help! I do hear they don't answer the phone but I cannot personally say whether this is true or not.

It seems that several reviewers have rather strong opinions of this postal establishment. Mine seems to run quite contrary to the consensus. I would describe my experience with this enterprise as the most pleasant and utterly enjoyable experience one could expect from a government office. Foremost, the interior design is immaculate. They have maintained the original early twentieth century designs that make for a more historic and educational experience than your average contemporary postal station. Secondly, the staff was just lovely. One chap in particular, Lawrence, was delightful. An adept public servant with a keen sense for customer service. The service could do well to find more of his lot. By far, this has been my favorite trip to a post office.
