I recently rented a 10x10 storage space at Public Storage. Selecting a location and storage space and completing the contract online was very easy. The move-in process was simple.
If you happen to have renter's insurance or homeowner's insurance, check to see if it covers up to $5000 of insurance for off-premises storage. That will save you $20 a month for insurance, which Public Storage will charge you.

I purchased a storage auction online and when I got to the facility, after driving an hour plus, Jeff at the front desk told me there was no storage auction left to pick up. That I was a backup bidder and that he doesn’t have a unit due for pick up. I told him the unit number and he grabbed a paper he had on his desk said oh ya, took my payment, and the said he doesn’t know what I have to sign. We walked to the unit. There was no lock on the unit just a tag. Per Jeff, that meant it was an empty unit ready to rent out. He gave me my money back but I told him that someone needs to also pay me what storage treasures decided charged. I called storage treasures and they said the facility needs to cancel the auction to refund me. He said he was not cancelling anything because he never had to do it before. I called storage treasures again and it needs to be cancelled on their end. I told him that he had to call his manager or I will call the cops because I paid for a unit that was empty. Now he is trying to call to cancel for payment. This is crazy and unprofessional.

We’ve been storing our stuff here for a while now and needed to upgrade our unit size. We weren’t expecting much as far as help but were floored with how amazing Jeff was!! He’s very knowledgeable and helped us find a good deal with a bigger unit! We’ll happily suggest this place to other people and point them in the direction of Jeff!

Public Storage, as a company that actually understands and cares about its customers, would get a single star from my experience. HOWEVER, Kay is excellent. She is caring, knowledgeable and helpful, putting the customer front and center! She enables dealing with Public Storage as a company, much more palatable.
