This was our fourth time visiting Forrest Hills and it was wonderful. Previously we have always stayed in the same Cupid cabin and always loved our stays, but this time we were in a Lovebird cabin (Lovebird 2) and it was an even better experience.
The cabin was gorgeous. The cabin smelled so divine when we arrived that we ordered the reeds they were using before we even headed home. The service throughout our stay was fantastic. The breakfasts were delicious. I am possibly getting her name wrong but Peggy (?) should teach a masterclass in making the perfect grits. Shelly or Sherri, our waitress on the final evening of our stay, was a complete delight!
Highly recommend eating out at least one evening at Spirits and Bourbon Street. Amazing experiences at both. At resort, highly recommend eating in the Secret Garden Dining Room for couples and ordering Chicken Alfredo, the fried chicken dinner, Caesar salad with grilled chicken, and the pretzel.
If you drive into Helen, GA, recommend doing the mountain coaster. A blast!

We stayed here from 11/29-11/30 (1 night) so it was very cold outside and our heating unit/thermostat did not work. They had the old school heating units around the cabin (igniters) but no instructions were provided on how to use said units. So we were freezing all night.
Also, the hot water did not work beyond 1 person taking an 8-10 minute shower. In either bathroom!

A true gem...found in Georgia...Not gold but the next best thing to it. :-) Where do I begin to share with you of all the good things? Where do I begin to share with you of all the good things? The resort’s location is only fifteen minutes from downtown Dahloneaga and situated very scenic rolling hills and amongst beautiful fall-colored trees. Paved roads provide easy access throughout the resort property.
As a family, we lodged in Cabin #4 which is nestled amongst many trees, very quiet, has numerous of windows, and a balcony for viewing the beautiful fall-colored artistry. It provided a cozy warm rustic atmosphere and was designed with special accommodations for wheelchair accessibility- thanks to Terri. One of our family members uses an electric wheelchair and was able to comfortably access all areas of the interior. All the rooms are extremely spacious, exceptionally clean and the gorgeous handicap roll-in shower was a very pleasant unexpected surprise.
Because the cabin was located only a block away from the restaurant, it was so convenient to walk to (or roll if in a wheelchair) to for breakfast and dinner. All the food items we ordered were excellent. The atmosphere was inviting, cozy, service was exceptional, and the server was extremely friendly. I was impressed with the hamburger because it was larger than I expected and very tasty. One morning at breakfast David (Michelle’s brother), who is one of the resorts co-owners stopped by our table to chat with us. He wanted to know if we were enjoying our visit at his resort. David being exceptionally friendly and comical shared some interesting stories about yesteryear with us…needless to say, he was a delight to chat with. Yes, he accommodated a photo session with us. 😊
There is also a wonderful gift shop located within the office which has many fun and keepsake items for purchase. During one of my visits to the office, I was able to meet the other co-owner Michelle (David’s sister) who was also very friendly and inquired about our stay at her resort. Actually, all the staff we encountered were friendly, displayed kindness and eager to be of assistance when needed.
There is a special couple that I must commend. They are Mitzi and Jerry who both provided outstanding service. They couldn’t do enough for us. Soon as we got to the cabin, we needed some personal assistance and Jerry showed up immediately with a pleasant smile. His kindness and warm personality made us feel right at home. Needless to say, that his wife Mitzi who manages the horses and stable displays the same kind and warm spirit. She also has a beautiful smile. Both were truly God-sent…willing vessels of the lord above…to assist us during a personal crisis which was not related or anything caused of our visit at the resort. It seems words aren’t enough to express my sincere appreciation.
Upon ending my review, I have to stress how the resort, owners and staff surpassed all our expectations. The value is so worth the price of the reservation as we made precious memorable…keepsake memories. I love this place so much and will definitely will be returning soon and we will go horseback riding with Mitzi. God bless this place.

Thank you Sheri and Forrest hills staff for helping us in our wedding, you’re awesome and everything was beyond expectations and perfect. So very kind and helpful staff. Yall are awesome!! We purchased the secret garden, all inclusive, small guest package. We had 25 guests. I also like and appreciate how pricing for each package is included online. The venue is a forest, rustic style, and absolutely beautiful in all seasons. We also stayed in the honeymoon suite log cabin, and it was So comfortable and serene.

I’ll never go back! And can stay at a resort or hotel in my area and see this all day and pay less! Roach in my room , stains on the wall , and on the bathroom towels, cobwebs on the lamp . I address my concerns with the office and they didn’t do anything about it .

My sister was married at the secret garden and we stayed in the cabins. The weekend was amazing and topped off with a GREAT massage in an extremely peaceful and grounding setting at the spa. Id recommend everyone to get a massage at some point during their stay! Or twice! And the horses are amazing Mitzi really creates an experience! All around the experience couldnt be beat. I love this rustic place minutes from the falls!

This place has so much potential and I am certain it was beautiful and well functioning back in the day. Our room happened to be a bit dated and musty but the bed and linens were clean and comfortable.
The main issue was the lack of hot water for half our stay- it was very disruptive to our plans. Everyone did their best to help and were very nice but its a disappointment when we traveled 7 hrs to not have some basic amenities.
I edited this review because they refunded my night and gave us gold mine tickets which was very thoughtful.

My wife and I recently stayed in their Cupid cabin. It was a wonderful get away. Plenty of things to do on the resort but also very quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed a nature walk, horseback riding, and a couples massage. The buffet breakfast was delicious and the servers were great. Thanks to Kraft family for creating such a wonderful place and to all the staff for working so hard to keep the guests satisfied!

We eloped here just myself and now husband in early October. This was the best wedding experience. Our cabin with hot tub was so relaxing and peaceful. The ceremony couldn’t have gone any smoother. The staff was extremely helpful at any time. The restaurant and food were great! It is a little pricey but you get a ton of great food so it’s definitely worth it. I loved this little trip and we will be back at some point.

Not impressed! Mold spot on the ceiling, spiders in the shower, back porch had rotten boards in ceiling and no view; floor needed to be mopped. Cabin 12

My husband & I were married here in October of 2025 & it was the PERFECT day! Couldn't have asked for a better experience! Sheri (the on-site wedding coordinator) was fabulous! All the staff was awesome, so friendly & made our day very special! I must say the carriage ride to the Secret Garden, where I met up with my Groom, was AMAZING! Such a relaxing ride! I would highly recommend choosing Forrest Hills as your venue!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Forest Hills Resort – Our New Family Tradition
This was our second time staying at Forest Hills Resort, and it was just as wonderful as the first! The first time, it was just my husband and me at Cupid’s Hideaway — quiet, romantic, and absolutely perfect. This time, we brought the whole family and stayed in the Mount Laurel Inn, and it truly felt like a home away from home.
From check-in to checkout, every single staff member — from the front office to the restaurant and even the maintenance team — went above and beyond. You can tell they care about their guests. We had breakfast and lunch at the restaurant, and both were delicious!
The rooms were spotless — and I say that as someone who owns a cleaning company! Everything smelled fresh, the bathrooms were immaculate, and the beds were ridiculously comfortable. We loved the bi-level layout — our kids took over the upstairs while my husband and I enjoyed a quiet space downstairs. The decks were beautiful and made the stay even more relaxing.
It’s rare to find a place that hits all the marks: comfort, cleanliness, kindness, and charm — but Forest Hills does it every time. It’s officially our family’s new yearly getaway spot, and I plan for it to stay that way for generations to come (or at least as long as they’ll have us!). 💕

My husband and I just celebrated our anniversary at Forrest Hills. We stayed in the Lovebird 1 cabin. It's very rustic and relaxing. We shared our anniversary meal at the Secret Garden dining room. The food was great and the service was excellent. We had the whole dining room to ourselves. We loved the hot tub and porch swing at the cabin. We would recommend this location for a quite romantic trip. Thank you Forrest Hills for making our anniversary so special.
