I was having a really bad day car broke down here at storage unit. Worried about car getting towed. Cheryl the lady in office was very helpful. Assure me my car would be okay until repaired. She helped me in any way she could can't say enough about her. Thank you Cheryl

Free up storage has provided a secure space for me to store a small trailer for a reasonable price for over a year now. This is a good outfit to use if you have something to store.

I rented an RV Storage space from FreeUp in May 2023 for the first time. I was at another storage facility in Dahlonega for the last three years and experienced many issues that were outside my control, so I thought it was time to make a change.I completed the entire lease process online, including signing all documents. I had no sooner finished the lease purchase when I received a phone call from Sarah confirming my reservation. Sarah has communicated expectations, and I have set up auto-pay to ensure my payment is made regardless of what other things I have ongoing each month. The auto-pay feature offers a great piece of mind.I feel like this location is as secure as possible with the installed gate, cameras, and lighting. No location, including your backyard, guarantees security, but this is why I carry full coverage on my investment and list FreeUp Storage as an interested party.After a month of leasing from FreeUp, I am confident in posting a five-star review of my experience. I want to Thank Sarah for reaching out and offering the information and assistance she has provided. I have had my RV at four other RV Storage facilities over time and have not had this level of customer service in any of those experiences.I recommend this location of FreeUp Storage to others looking for self-storage needs.

I went on vacation and needed a place to store some stuff( my motorcycle, dirt bike and just riding gear). I got amazing help from Sara Wayne with pricing and size of space for what I needed. I enjoyed the experience and will definitely be using them next I need to store anything.

Our EXPERIENCE was not good.I must be honest and unfortunately say that I am very disappointed with our experience at FreeUp storage Dahlonega GA. We unfortunately fell victim to another company with one-sided policies and an unwillingness to try to keep their customers happy. We had a rough past couple of months dealing with a family situation and mechanical problems with our RV and it ended up needing to be totaled due to a water leak. Much harder, was the fact that we live out of state and were just visiting with family and intended to store our new RV temporarily until we are ready to go back home. We informed Sarah, who was the lady helping us when we secured our spot for the RV, that we will not be staying any later than the end of February since we are traveling back home. However, when we did leave, we failed to notify the storage facility ten days prior to leaving (according to policy) and had to pick up our RV one day into the new month (March 1st, instead of the last day in February). Our car was in the shop so we couldn't pick it up until March 1st. We tried to call the phone number that Sarah wrote on a sticky note for us to call if we need anything, but couldn't reach anyone. We later realized the phone number was incorrect, she made a mistake and switched two of the numbers when she wrote it down. While I understand this was an honest mistake, when we finally got into contact with them and explained we couldn't reach them, their answer was basically the phone works fine, you need to pay for all of March or it will get sent to collections, to scare us... Nobody is perfect and we understand we made a mistake by not notifying them 10 days before vacating, even though we didn't realize we needed to considering we already told them we aren't going to stay longer than February, we feel that was unfair and unnecessary to charge us for a FULL MONTH when we were vacated on March 1st. We also offered to pay 15 days just to make it right for not notifying 10 days before, which she said that unfortunately their policy will not allow it and there's absolutely nothing she can do to help us. I was respectful, even asked to speak with someone else that may be able to understand the situation and help, but I was told that even her CEO believes that policy is policy. I wasn't asking her to lie to her boss about the date we moved out, I simply wanted them to make it right by prorating the amount... Simple.It's also completely unnecessary considering the spot is anyway empty after we left it, and there are plenty of RV spots available at their facility, so it's not like they were losing money. Greedy move, and we are sad they couldn't help us even slightly in this situation.Some other noteworthy things to mention:1. Although the place is gated and has security cameras, they don't guarantee anything, and you need to have your own insurance on items stored in their facility (in our case, our RV). So remember, that even if the place looks secure and security cameras are present, it still does not mean that your property and valuables are safe. While they have "office hours" the staff are most of the time not physically there, in our experience. And again, although the facility is gated, it's fair to note that the general area doesn't look great and doesn't feel safe. Maybe that's just our opinion, but do what feels right to you.2. Heads up to anyone storing their RV - we have a 33 foot tow behind, and we scraped it at the bottom pretty badly when bringing it into the facility since there is a steep uphill to get into it.We never like to leave bad reviews, but in this case we felt so burnt by them, and times are hard enough right now but getting hit with having to pay a full month for nothing is ridiculous. We are good people who always pay on time and follow the rules. We feel like this situation was very unfair, and hope that this won't happen again to anyone else.

The main reason I got this place was because it was 24 hours. I even moved all my storage from lawrenceville ga, to this place because it was 24hrs and near my mom and shortly after I change over to this place, gate closes at 10pm. I'm honestly debating on rather or not to move my things to another place that is 24hrs. My mom also has a unit and isn't liking that they stopped the 24hrs and they agree to let her pay on the 5th every month but every month charge her a late fee. She's debating on rather or not to change places as well..ive ran into many customers who are not liking this change as well.

Used to be great but ever since the local owners sold to FreeUp I have experienced nothing but constant rate increases, unauthorized charges, and ignored phone calls. I would not recommend doing business here as you will have nothing but problems.

I was told when I signed up online that I had a special price of 69 for 10x15. When I called, I was told that was for a parking place. The reservation confirmation showed the special but I had to pay 2 times what I was told for less space.
