We adopted a 3 month old puppy from this humane society and had a wonderful experience. Hami is amazing and I believe he was taught a few tricks before adopting him. They were thorough in the adoption process and even gave us a custom bed for him made locally. Adopt don’t shop

I adopted my best friend from here back in August and he is fantastic! I had been volunteering with the Doggie Day Out program for about a year before I gave in finally applied to adopt him. The staff was very understanding of me being a college student and wanting to bring my best friend home and worked with me through that. I love TLC and will continue to volunteer here to love on the cats and dogs until they find the perfect home!

We were denied an adoption because our dogs lived to be15 -1/2 and 16-1/2 and we couldn't access vet records, vaccine records, and BANK receipts for heartworm meds that far back. Vets only have to keep records for 3 years, banks 5-7, so this disqualifies a lot of experienced pet owners and good homes. They refused to accept 5 years of history and a reference from a local that vet we've known for 30 years. I'd go to a county shelter and/or the Humane Society in Gainesville. They are truly committed to preventing euthanasias, have sensible policies, and a great staff.

I have worked in animal rescue and activism for over 3 decades. I have experienced everything from deplorable management and pet care to a place in heaven. TLC is at the top of my "Terrific!list." I have volunteered, supported financially and through service as needed at TLC for almost 5 years and am very proud to be a part of this excellent organization. Well run but understaffed. Employees very helpful and empathetic to all who come to visit.I am so very proud to be a member of the TLC Team and will gladly continue to support and spread the word about the outstanding work taking place at TLC. They treat the animals as family members but are acutely aware of possibly harmful situations and placement of the animals.God bless the animals and those who love them! ❤️=^..^=

I have not actually been here, but have followed their activities in the local paper for many years. This is a no kill shelter that relies on donations from the public. They spay and neuter all animals as well as take care of their other health needs before placing them up for adoption. From what I have been told and read in the paper this is a well run and compassionate organization that has earned the public's trust.

My pit bull caught some buck shot and one of the ladies came out and calmed me down. Advised me on my next step with the removal. Didn't charge me for piece ofind she gave me. True lovers of animals big and small.

I adopted my best friend from here and I will be forever grateful. They treated her so well and were very welcoming when I met her. She was all ready for me to be picked up when I arrived and it was the smoothest adoption ever! They were so helpful and informative and gave me great vet recs. I know she was loved well while she was here! Thank you guys!

A solid white pregnant cat was abandoned in our neighborhood. She is very sweet but neglected. We live in a very rural area on a dead end street that people (including UPS FEDEX Amazon) race up and down. I contacted several area vets and quoted $150-$400 not including office visit and health check up. One of the places I called was TLC shelter. They are no-kill and accepted her with only a parvovirus test and rabies shot that I got from Red Barn Vet. Desirae and Sean are fabulous! They are kind and definitely love "their" fur babies!

I adopted a dog one year just before Christmas in front of Petco at Northpoint mall. That little dog has added so much love to our family that the small price we've paid over the years is small in comparison. In looking at the records tonight I see she was once named Pepper but we named her Zoie. Her birthday is listed as 8/20/2002 and is now 19, but still is mistaken for a puppy (see photo). Thank you Debbie B. and everyone at the Society.
