“The mishap with my CRV was bad enough but added to that was the fear of it being stuck in the shop a long time. I’m on the road constantly between home and the nursing home caring for needs of my 95 year old Mom. Juan assured me his team would get on it right away and not to worry. The turnaround time was less than 3 days! They did a beautiful job, body work and paint, and washed and detailed it inside as well. Wow!!

“If I could give 10 stars I would. Where to start? First, the work was immaculate. Can't say enough about the quality. More importantly the customer care was outstanding. I was scheduled to go for a c-section while my car was being fixed. While I was in recovery I had to be readmitted to the hospital for a complication of surgery and when I did get my car back they had left a baby gift inside. They worked with my insurance when they were causing unnecessary delays so I didn't have to worry about anything. Definitely recommend.”

“tl:dr - Searching for a good mechanic can be expensive and discouraging so there's a huge value in finding a place like this. Sexton's Automotive is a rare find in that they appear trustworthy, competent, and fair. I plan to use them for more work on my cars.
I'm impressed enough that the tl:dr is a paragraph on its own.
I was a bit skeptical of this place in spite of reviews. I am mechanically inclined and often act on my curiosity and/or skepticism when I want to know more. I'm pretty easily dissatisfied with other people's work on my stuff, even if I don't complain or demand corrections.
I stopped by the shop to go over the work that I was going to request in addition to tire install/balance, I wanted TPMS replacement, replace valve stems, 4 wheel alignment. The extra work was 4 wheel alignment, replace front valve stems, and check clutch/flush the fluid. The guy at the counter seemed a bit distracted/inattentive. This didn't give me much confidence that the additional work was going to be completed.
I expected them to have the car for a week. The same guy was at the counter and warned me that they'd likely not have it ready until the next day. This also seemed to support my earlier assessment that he hadn't noted the work I requested.
They called that it was ready the next afternoon and my disappointment was ramping up to anger for the entire drive to pick it up. I was certain that they had only done the tire install. I had almost no doubt and was deciding if I was going to trust them to do the work or just pick up the car and go somewhere else for the rest.
Different guy at the counter this time and I geared up for my best Karen-quiz and folks, after that first question, I was so taken aback that I thought I was going to start stuttering.
He didn't miss a beat, he clearly answered my question and more, rendering most of the rest of my questions unnecessary. They had completed everything I requested and even after checking the car when I got home, I didn't see any signs of carelessness, shoddy work, or abuse (excessive joyriding, damaged fasteners, etc).
What a refreshing experience.
To the guy at the counter the first two times: man...I owe you an apology. I dramatically misjudged you and our interaction. You heard everything I said and communicated it forward. Well done! I've learned a lesson and look forward to meeting again.

“Had problems on a trip from Florida to Tennessee. Oil light came on with a lot of white smoke coming out exhaust. It was 4 p.m. when we got to his shop after googling auto repair in Dalton. David was very busy and called several other shops to see if anyone could help us...all were to busy or closing. Said he would see what he could do if we could wait until he finished job he was doing. Found out we didn't have an oil problem, but a leaking coolant pump that the leaking coolant blew our oil sensor. We had him change our oil and he filled our coolant reservoir. Told us to keep an eye on our temperature gauge. Charged us a very nominal fee (way less than the simple oil change we had done before we left} and we finished our trip with no problems.When we tipped him for his service and kindness to an elderly couple, he did not want to take it, but we left him no choice {don't mess with old people} David was very kind, professional, and knowledgeable and certainly have taken advantage of us if he had wanted too.We will probably never see him again, but I feel like we made a friend that day....would give him a 10 if we could.”
