They do an excellent job in caring for their animals, they even keep the spiders like they should the first time I seen a pet store properly keep an Arboreal spider in an Arboreal set up and a terrestrial spiders in a terrestrial set up, even with a buried cork bark hide with some hiding places and they definitely keep cork bark tubes(rounds) and cork bark Flats in stock wished they could bring their staff to cleveland and staff our pet stores. I have to drive to dalton to find any exotic pet supplies. It's a great pet store. I highly recommend them, At least they care

Do not buy from petland. They sell off standard and poorly bred dogs or mutts like Doodles and Frenchie mixes. Mix breeds are not good to buy, you are supporting buying genetic issues, leading to the money to be used to breed more genetic issues. There's a reason a well bred poodle lives longer than your mutt you decided to get. Please get your doodle from a shelter or get your german shepherd from a breeder. If you do buy from petland, be knowledgeable about owning a dog and don't get one as a present for your 2 year old.

Cleanest pet store I know with the most friendly and helpful staff. Their love for the fur babies is tangible every time I come. Livy was so sweet helping my son play with a different puppy three times today.

Came in just to see the dogs! Gave no indication I actually wanted to buy anything, but Kim, Hannah, and Livi all spent time letting me play with various puppies, and were VERY customer-friendly! I will return again!

Its supposed to be a family friendly and now it's not bc of the new management and they don't even let us hold the dogs and they made the kids cry when they said they couldn't hold them and they walk out of the door if it was me you guys should not go there

Cute little puppies but the price is outrageous. $4000 for a Pekingese, seriously?

I’m a firm believer in that good customer service will take a business far and bad customer service can eventually destroy a business. That being said, I will tell y’all about my experience with Petland Dalton. After grocery shopping in Kroger, I decided to take my son into Petland to see “kit cats.” After realizing that they didn’t currently have any cats, he wanted to see a bird, so I picked one up on my finger and was showing him. An employee, very abruptly, said “Don’t do that. The birds can fly away and they are very difficult to catch.” I immediately put the bird back. I walked over to the bunnies. I picked one up and sat on the floor with it against my chest to show my son and FaceTime my daughter, as we are actually considering getting one. The same employee came up from behind me and raised her voice (very rudely, might I add) and said “I have already told you multiple times to not hold the animals, put it down now.” Everyone around us, by now, was looking at us. I obviously put it down and said “One, you have said something to me once about holding the bird so it wouldn’t fly away. Two, no need in getting an attitude withme.” She voiced over her radio requesting assistance. I, myself, went to find the manager to inform her of her employee’s behavior. Instead of apologizing, the manager said “we are very short staffed right now.” I explained that being short staffed was not an excuse to speak to a customer in the manner that her employee spoke to me.I understand the need in having a policy that doesn’t allow customers picking up the animals. I’m not upset about that. I’m upset in the way that I was spoken to by an employee, especially in front of 9-10 other people, which caused unnecessary embarrassment. So, be warned! Don’t take your business to Petland in Dalton. They have rude, disrespectful employees and managers who don’t take ownership for their mistakes.

I worked in the Rome location in the kennel. It has the same owner as the Dalton location. I would give this establishment a -10000000 if I could. Monty (THE OWNER of both Rome and Dalton locations) asked my coworker to put a sick puppy in the freezer to kill it so we didn’t have to take it to the vet. NO PUPPIES GO TO THE VET! Unless they’re there to get euthanized. You’re probably going to end up buying a sick puppy if you buy one from here. They are ALL sick. Also literal children perform vaccinations.

So I had no intentions on another dog I just adopted a blue heeler a year and a half ago, I went to petland to get millet for my bird … saw a beautiful Great Dane puppy, they ask if I wanted to see her and play with her so of course I did. Next thing you know I got financed to get her, the price is crazy I don’t even want to say how much she was. Yea she is akc registered and blah blah but let me tell you over the last two weeks she has been so sick. She had kennel cough so of course my other dog got it, then had diarrhea since I’ve had her like bad bad, come to find out she had a parasite so over the past two weeks I’ve had no sleep (which is not the puppy’s fault I would be doing the same if I was sick) anyways she’s been on 6 medications since I’ve had her, then my blue heeler is on 2 meds now from the kennel cough. It’s just been a nightmare I don’t understand how they can sell sick puppies for the prices that they do! I just want my baby to be ok I feel so bad for her!

This place has gone down hill. Current management will soon run this place to the ground. Malnourished reptiles, fish with diseases, selling old dogs that came from a puppy mill that was used solely to breed its entire life. You can over hear management talk down/about other associates on the sales floor. Associates look like they hate working there. No wonder you see new associates in there every week. The owner should be ashamed to even say it’s his store. This place used to great. Everyone used to be so friendly and pets looked healthy and happy. Not any more. Depressing and sad. Will be glad to see a “closed for good” sign on the door.

1st review: went in to get some items for my bearded dragon and was pushed to buy more stuff and the workers wouldn't leave me alone. felt very rushed and like i couldn't really get a moment of peace to look around. all about making sales2nd review/visit: went in recently and its still terrible. reptiles are skinny and not taken care of AT ALL. most have the wrong lights and diets. all these ppl care about are the dogs and making a paycheck. heard from an employee when i asked about this that there was nothing they could do since higher ups are aware if these conditions and do not seem to want to fix them. very sad.

Not sure what to say about this place. It's a little hole in the wall that wants to be important. I don't agree with buying or selling g dogs in a pet shop specially the prices they want but not alot I can do about that but do nothing. I will never buy a dog from a store but that is just my stance. Anyways... they carry good dog food. VICTOR it's all I feed my dogs. But that being said they are over priced. Like most everything else in the store but we were in town and did t want to waste the gas to save 10 dollars. Time over value I guess you can say. If you have to have something then it's a easy stop. Other then that I wouldn't recommend stopping there if you can help it.
