I saw their advertised price and called. I questioned delivery charges and any extra charges. I was told a $75 fee to check my tank would be the only additional charge. They did a wonderful job checking my tank and connections, all ok. Before delivery I was charged $663.20. After delivery, my total cost was $483.68 which included a $9.66 delivery charge. They are now in possession of $179.52 of my money in excess payments. So, when refill time comes, I will be stuck with owing them. One day I will learn.

Truly has been a nightmare to deal with. Consistently told one thing then a completely different thing happens. Their different departments don't communicate at all.

I called and ordered more propane. It was delivered but I didn't know. There should be something left at the house to notify it has come.
The day after I ordered propane, people smelled propane around our house. I called and they were to send someone out to check. We were at home all that day and the next and no one came out. I don't know if anyone ever came out or not. Luckily, I heard that the tank next door was leaking so it may not have been an emergency even though there was a faint gas smell. Again, something or someone should have contacted us

I have now spent hours of my time on the phone with Suburban Propane, after my gas was turned off on Friday, February 16th, 2024. When I called on that same day to inquire about gas service and my heat not working, I was told they had not turned off my gas and my heater not working had nothing to do with any action on their part.
My son-in-law turned off the heater, concerned about safety with it potentially not functioning properly. When I returned home after being out of town (and my adult children and animals being without heat for two days in 30 degree temperatures) I found a yellow notice of interruption of service hanging on my basement door, not in a conspicuous place, like my front door.
I called the number listed on the card and was told they had no record of my gas being turned off (a 45 minute conversation) Once the regional office opened for business, I called them and after a lengthy conversation, was told my gas had been shut off because it is always shut off when they deliver gas. In the 2 years they have been delivering gas, (and the years of service by another company in a prior home) they have never shut my gas off due to delivery. They assured me a technician would be dispatched to get my heater working and was asked what time I got off work (45 minute phone call). I heard nothing back that day.
I recieved an emailed invoice that evening for $0.00 for someone coming by at 11:00 am, 4 hours before my communicated availibility. There was no reason listed on the invoice for the visit. I called the regional office back at 8:06 the next morning to determine the reason for the visit. They had no record of the visit or the reason. I was once again told the reason for the gas supply being shut off was a gas delivery and that a technician wasn't available until April to get my heater working (which I just had fixed by a different company on January 18th and was working perfectly before they shut my gas off).
I was then transferred to a manager, Theresa, who suddenly quoted the reason of service interruption was a gas leak and that turning off gas is required by law. This was not noted on the yellow interruption notice or known by ANYONE I had spoken to thus far. I explained that I needed heat. She asked me to send her the invoice I had recieved via email and that she would get back to me regarding the reason for the visit and get a technician scheduled to return heat to my home (as my home has now been without heat for 7 days). I hung up satisfied that she would follow through as promised (Another 45 minute phone call).
I emailed her the invoice at 11:00 am. It is now after 5:00 on Friday night and the office is closed for the weekend. I never heard back from Theresa from the Suburban Propane office in Dalton and I am still without heat for the foreseeable future, due to their actions.

It took too long for someone to check the system. We stayed in the cold for almost a week just to keep from running out of gas completely,

This is subjuect to change. But we have an underground tank that supplies our grill and gas logs. We are supposed to be on an automatic delivery where our tank is to be checked and filled on a regular basis. My tank was not topped off over the last year, and subsequently went empty as I was grilling last week. I had to call for a delivery, which they did come and do within 48hrs. Unfortunately they disconnected my gas after filling and did not notify me until I had to call them a week later, when I realized I wasn't getting gas to my fireplace. They stated there was a leak and a tech had to come out for testing in a couple of days. Which would not have been scheduled, had I had not called them to see what was going on. That is horrible customer service and terrible communication. If I could give 0 stars I could.

Terrible customer service. The so- call service manager rarely returns calls . I feel he follows the store manager's example. Call the Dalton branch to install a gas line for our outdoor kitchen. One month later I'm told the hose is still being shipped. I call one of the Surbran Propane contractors and he is installing it in two days. Wow... No brainer.Even getting propane delivered was a chore. It was scheduled but they didn't show so I called again. Finally got the gas. What a disfunctional operation...

Each time I have had to call the office, I have received terrible customer service. The girls answering the phone are totally untrained and unprepared to give any correct answers. Each time, I have asked to speak to their supervisor and gotten the same response EVERY time…”They are in a meeting and will have to call you back”. Usually they do not call and I end up having to call and go through the same conversation again. My bill was over what it should have been snd all they could do was look at the bill and try to justify it. It wasn’t until I was able to speak to a supervisor “Bridgett” that I was ever able to get any answers. She corrected the bill snd it went down by approximately $60.00. I am so thankful for her, her knowledge and her kindness. It should never be that hard to speak to someone that knows what is going on. Suburban Propane gets less than “0” for customer service!

Suburban Propane has been my propane provider for 27 years during which time I have been completely satisfied. Their employees--from the person who answers the phone to the guy who brings the gas--are polite, respectful, and efficient. When I thought I had a gas leak, they were here in no time at all and assured me it was only the pilot light had gone out. The man who answered the call to time to show me how to light it should that happen again. I have recommended them to all of the new people moving into my neighborhood who now tell me how pleased they are. I am perfectly pleased with the company.
