THE BIGGEST WASTE OF TAX PAYERS MONEY. They do absolutely nothing to help any issues. We have called multiple times about the same issue and we are told, just let the dogs run around we will “try” to get ahold of the owners (they know who the owner is by the way). We have been told “can you just take care of the dog until someone can come out” and every single time (which has been about 5 times now) someone comes out they tell us there is nothing they can do due to animal shelter capacity. The terrible owners are not held responsible, these dogs are malnourished and have no shelter from what we have seen. We are unable to take care of our own pets to the fullest in fear of the stray dog causing issues. We have tried to take care of this dog to the best of our abilities, but it is too cold outside (8 degrees)for this dog to be left outside without proper shelter.DO BETTER WHITFIELD COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL. This is UNACCEPTABLE.

These people are just evil, disgusting, crooks! My puppy got out of my backyard over night, and first thing in the morning, before I had a chance to notice, they come and snatched her up. Then they extort me by charging $150 to get her back or they send her off to be euthanized.

Women working very rude declined my family because we have a older male whom cannot be fixed due to health issues would not let us adopt a MALE puppy who we would get fixed at the soonest appointment our house is fenced and would not be around any female animals and it’s a kill shelter but want to make it difficult and to aggravating to adopt from them

Unfortunately Whitfield county animal control left myself and others in my neighborhood heartbroken. Do to neighborhood watch services, a call was made on a non aggressive German shepherd being tide to a tree, neglected, abused and malnutritioned. The animal shows signs of dehydration and also its ribs and hip bones are visible from atleast 30 feet away. Animal goes weeks without water, unless it rains and fills its bowl, also goes without food to the point the animal eats its own feces. The residents at the home publicly show abuse to the animal. After being reported, all animal control did was drive by the residents property. It's sad knowing a business as such chose to allow this animal to continue to suffer. It is truly heartbreaking...

I would rate it zero stars if it would let me. This place is just ridiculous. I've called a few times about a stray who just stayed here and mainly at my house. I've told them that I don't need this dog here. It attacked my dog and would try to attack my kids. They keep telling me that the shelter is closed or that it's full. It's just a bunch of bull.

I had found dog two days prier and was unable to keep him for any longer - I to call over 10 times before they picked up, they said they would be on their way (news flash they didn't come) luckily I was able to keep the dog, and I was able to find a friend to keep him for the next day. The pound picked him up in the morning after ANOTHER phone call (two days after the first time) { I'm thinking of maybe adopting him IF they have him still - which I doubt they do as its been a few months}They still did their job, unfortunately it just took forever!

I was under the impression that in the event that one finds a stray dog, you call animal control for the proper assistance on what steps to take. The dispatch woman who answered the phone was very rude and blunt. She very shortly informed me that the shelter is full and to contact the humane society and hung up on me. Not sure how our local animal shelters expect these animals to find safe homes when the public tries to get them out of the streets. Very glad I received literally no information or help.

Whoever answered the phone was very rude. I was trying to find a more economical alternative for my cat to be spayed since the prices most places charge are very high, but was told that the deals for spays are only for those who can’t afford it … considering she doesn’t know my financial situation it was very unprofessional to say.

They were rude. They cussed at me! I was having to put a dog down because she prolapsed and her insides were hanging out and they accused me of breeding dogs. Told me I didn’t love my animals. I love them dogs more than anything. I couldn’t help that her insides were falling out when she was in heat. And they wouldn’t put her down so now I’m at a lost for words what to do with this poor dog of ours.

Called to get some advice and help because my friends dog has been attacking other animals in the house and had just attacked her dog again. The dispatch officer I talked to was very rude, she refused to tell me anything and was cutting me off while I was talking. She told me the shelter wouldn’t be opened until after Christmas. I said that’s fine but could she give me any idea of what to do or where I could go for help and she cut me off and said no, that all she could say is the shelter will open back up after Christmas. Whitfield County are you serious? You get calls for emergencies and your dispatch officers cut people off and have attitudes with them? Operator 210. When I called back and asked for her name her demeanor completely changed. This is unacceptable.

RUDE RUDE RUDE I found a Puppy last night, when I was walking my dog, the puppy was on the road crying so I went and ask every neighbor in my street if they were missing a puppy and I couldn’t find the owners, then I took it to the shelter but it was closed, I try to help the puppy and I gave her a water and food. The first thing that I did today was taking the puppy to the shelter just to get yelled at by this man saying that it was illegal to pick up stray dogs and to let them do their job, I'm sorry I didn't know the protocol but there are better ways of saying things!!
