I had an outstanding experience with Hertz, thanks to Ron and Julius. From the moment I arrived, they were welcoming, professional, and genuinely helpful. They went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of quickly and efficiently, while also making the process feel personal and stress-free.
Ron made everything smooth and easy to understand, and Julius showed exceptional customer service by paying attention to the details and ensuring I had exactly what I needed. Their teamwork and friendly approach turned what could have been a routine rental into an enjoyable experience.
It’s rare to encounter staff who combine professionalism with such warmth and care. Ron and Julius truly represent the best of Hertz, and I’ll definitely be coming back because of the excellent service they provided. Highly recommended!

Employee over the phone told me they were making exceptions on Saturday for car rentals, said I could pick up my car at 1pm. Went on Saturday was there from 12:55-1:10 nobody showed. Now Statefarm is closed so I can’t move my reservation to another company. Needed a car for Sunday.

If you can pick another location or different rental company altogether, you may be better off. I have rented from this location twice and will not return for a third. The vehicles were given to me dirty each time and this last time it was almost an empty tank. I even waited an extra 2 hours for my rental for it to be serviced to be given a dirty car with no gas. The agents knew and did not do anything to try to make it better, no discount, nothing! It was the only vehicle in the size I reserved, so I took it. However, I used my own money to have it cleaned so that my family could use it for a road trip.

By far one of the WORSE Hertz locations and sadly the “manager” Julius (short husky guy that wear glasses) is the reason. When I arrived yesterday and during the Summer, I was patient as the service is slow with not many workers. I was also grateful that the manager upgraded my “Large Sedan” that I booked and paid for to an SUV since there was no large sedans available on their end which would have caused me inconvenience. However, cleanliness is a service this location is lacking and this is the second time I have had to experience this so I will voice my concerns.
Julius took offense because I was recording. It is 2025, all phones have a record option ; at least I waited until he came to the phone to hear “recording in progress”. He rushed me off the phone and said to come in and switch out my current vehicle for another vehicle and we could do a walk through (you should’ve did that the first time). As a manger , listening is key and I clearly stated that I paid money to go to the car wash yesterday (by time I got off they were closed) and I put in time to wipe down & vacuum the vehicle therefore at this point I am about to enjoy this rental that I paid for and cleaned for the next 2 weeks. Issuing an apology would’ve been appropriate and also simply answering my question about how this location handles vehicle cleanliness before renting to customers so I could have a better understanding and simply wouldn’t rent here again.
When you first enter the vehicle, yes the SUV appears clean, but as I’m wiping the steering wheel, cup holder, mirror seatbelt, etc (highly touched surfaces), the wipes are dirty. The top parts of the rugs were vacuumed, but not underneath the rug and the trunk just filthy.
Thankfully, Hertz have the option where you can return, exchange, extend, etc at a different location because I will no longer be renting from the Decatur location.

First off let me just say I enjoyed my rental while I had it but the customer service at the actual kiosk was not appreciated.
I booked for a gas car and was told it would be ready but instead all they had on the lot when i arrived were electrical cars which i didn’t feel comfortable driving. After hours passed the only solution that was given to me was to take the electric and swap it out at another location so in my mind transporting a car that should be their job. I inquired about some form of compensation for the inconvenience and was told “Hertz will not compensate me because they’re not in the business of losing money” just no remorse. Therefore I won’t be booking with Hertz EVER AGAIN!

Ive been trying to return my car for 5 days and every time I call to schedule a pickup; no answer. This is unacceptable and crazy. I called 5 times in one day and no answer.
They are so unprofessional and horrible organization skills. I should have stuck to Enterprise instead of trying something new.

Absolutely an awful experience. Was in a wreck and needed a rental, however it took me two days to actually get in contact with someone to finalize an appointment. I would have went to a different location hadn't the insurance only covered rentals from them. My advice stay far away from this company in general if you can. The people are very hard to talk to, if you’re lucky enough to actually talk to them. Also they never answer the phone! Was trying to call them for almost an hour and the phone kept ringing and no one bothered to answer.If you’re stuck in the same situation I’m in, good luck

Employees on their phones. Employees kept going to the backroom to talk about personal matters (I could overhear the conversation) which held me up from picking up the car. It took about 45mins to receive the car even though there was no line and there were no other customers needing help. Employee was cleaning out trash after renting the car to me which left a food odor in the car for the full rental. The car was not vacuumed nor washed at anytime between rentals. I had to take the car to a gas station just to clean the windshield.
At least they had a model similar to what I rented out (Medium Size Sedan).

Make sure you call before you travel to this location and verify your reserved vehicle is on property . This location is next to nothing and has no problem telling you they have no vehicles but your more than welcome to wait until someone returns one. They don't wash or clean that vehicle out, out with one customer in with the new one. Just horrible 😞 The customer service is next to non existent. I heard them tell at least 3 customers with reservations they didn't have any cars and they could either come back or wait, like it was the customer fault they didn't have any cars. Luckily while he was checking me in a car came in. He pulls up to the front gets out and says your good to go. I asked did we need to inspect the vehicle together hr said no just nothing bigger than a golf ball and he disappeared. Whoever dropped the car off must just got off the road from a cross country trip, because the car was covered with dead bugs. I was told i could wait an hour to get it washed. I just left and took it to the car wash myself i just couldn't drive that filthy car. I only gave it 2 stars because at least the car was an upgrade and other than it being filthy was a good car.

I was supposed to pick up a rental car today, July 2nd, at 10am to keep until July 7th. I had my cards and cash on hand just in case. Well, I was met with disappointment when the guy told me they didn’t accept debit, and the type of credit card I had —only major credit cards. I was super frustrated cause I didn’t have any major credit cards, they didn’t accept cash, so now I have to miss my family reunion in Ohio. Enterprise was the only car rental company that accepts debit cards, and any credit card. Only reason I didn’t go to enterprise is because a last minute booking for a rental was costing me way too much. Hertz was cheaper, but they should change their policy on how to accept forms of payments.

Costumer services isn’t all there and the company has my belonging I’ve been trying to get it since the 19th of this months never in my life had to go through so much to get my stuff still trying nobody answering the phone and nobody ask like they no where the vehicle is I still need help!!
