Date night was our objective with our preferred Caribbean vibe. The vibe was much different than it has been in the past, though doable. We weren't especially impressed with the upcharge for the "a' la carte" sides, though the presentation & food prep were overall tasty with ideal portions. The Rum Punch was authentically ddddelisicious!!! Great service, dining & liming atmosphere!

This is the place to go strictly for drinks and the atmosphere. I am not sure why they call the food “Jamaican fusion” I guess it’s for the selling point because that is in no way Jamaican food. The jerk foods are overly charred and damn near burned with a water down version of hot jerk sauce that isn’t even hot. The best thing on the menu is the plantains and the corn bread. The oxtails should just be removed from the menu entirely or choose another Caribbean country to claim those oxtails. They enforce a 20% gratuity on the entire bill and I cannot see where 20% of serving work is even deserved. The best part was the DJ all day

We arrived at Icey’s for our 9P reservation. The restaurant was fairly empty for Saturday night. This should’ve been the first sign we acknowledge. However, we didn’t. We were seated and told our waiter would be right with us! With excitement when the waiter arrived, I wasted no time putting in my order because before arrival I had already reviewed the menu. Also, I’m pregnant so I was really ready to dig in! Me and my other two friends got to ordering with the waiter and placed our drinks. Dave seemed to be so much in a hurry for an empty restaurant. We paid it no mind. I got a mango lemonade and after I was nearly done I discovered something floating in my drink. Nasty! Anyhow the waiter took it back and brought me a new drink. I was pleased. Let’s get to the food, we ordered the strip club wings. It was 5/10 and the wings weren’t fully cooked. I also ordered the Cesar salad and the lettuce were wilted with too much sauce!Still excited to try the main dish, my friends and I waited. Two of us at the table ordered the Ital Pasta with fish and broccolini and the other friend ordered Ital with shrimp. The Pasta was gummy, vegetables uncooked and chopped hugely (my friend almost chocked) and the sauce for the pasta lacked seasoning, flavor and salt! The fish given with the Pasta was fried Swai fish. When delivered the fish was hot but, you can tell it was just dipped in the batter and not seasoned.Anyhow, we moved along to the burnt broccoli. That’s right, burnt broccoli not the broccolini because they were sent the wrong bag as later explained by the manager. The broccoli had all the salt the actual Ital Pasta was missing. Did I say it was burned? At this time our plates are pushed away because my friend who ordered the Ital Pasta with shrimp said the shrimp was overcooked and salty. We were disappointed but, we gave our last to the festivals we ordered. You could’ve assaulted someone with those festivals how overcooked they were. The festivals had too much cinnamon and tasted like Cinnamon Toast Crunch. We decided to let the restaurant know our honest feedback about the food. Dave came and we commended him on the drinks he made and brought to his attention to food was rubbish. The waiter said “there’s nothing I can do let me get the manager.”There was no sense of urgency for us paying customers waiting in an empty restaurant. The manager came 6 minutes later and we told him the food was bad tasting. He had a justifiable response for everything and didn’t take the constructive criticism very well.He ran on about how he was one of the owners and mentioned how he himself tasted that batch of pasta and deemed nothing wrong. My friends and I were born and raised in the Caribbean. So we asked is this place supposed to be Caribbean or Caribbean inspired? His response was “it’s southern Caribbean, that’s why we have jerk on the menu.” This is also when we told him about the burnt and salty broccoli, that should’ve been broccolini (which is what we ordered). He went on and on about how they got the wrong bag and that’s why they have broccoli and why it’s so salty. He asked us with so much disrespect, “You want to order something else?” We respectfully declined. He grabbed the plates stormed off and instructed us to pay for our drinks so we waited. Here we are waiting to pay for our drinks and the waiter who seemed nice at the beginning turned really rude. He yelled “He said he’s ONLY taking off the pasta.” My friends and I look at each other because that’s not what he told us. He specifically said “pay for the drinks” Which we were happy to because that was the only enjoyable thing off the menu. The waiter came back a few moments later and caused a scene in the restaurant yelling at us saying “y’all can leave.” We were shocked at the way we were being treated because we gave our honest feedback. So, we left and did not pay for the drinks. As we walked off the waiter taunted us by telling other customers and coworkers “it makes no sense of them paying for only drinks, they may as well leave” The experience was horrible!

I like this place. The food is excellent especially at brunch. The chicken and waffles is my favorite but I’ve never had anything bad. I have found the servers to be knowledgeable and very friendly. I like the vibe and the music. Reservations recommended. The parking can be chaotic. It’s quite loud when it’s busy so if that’s not your thing you won’t like it. Also I did notice that they added a 20% gratuity to our party of 2 - totally fine. Just didn’t notice last time.

My group of 4 came here for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. We had an excellent experience from start to finish! We were seated promptly at our reserved time and our waitress, Sean (Shawn?), was AMAZING!! She came over and created a great energy for our table! Someone in our group had to leave by a certain time and Shawn made sure that her time constraints were respected. The food was sooo delicious and well seasoned. I could have had 3 pans of cornbread by myself! Mimosa flight was too cute with the presentation and came with a full bottle of champagne. My type of mimosas — make your own! Parking was also easy and no issues (which is a huge bonus when trying to brunch in the city). All in all, would absolutely recommend Ms. Icey’s and will absolutely come back!!Parking: Standard surface parking lot. Free. Plenty of parking spaces when we went on a Saturday afternoon (around 1pm).

Atmosphere: plenty of seating, booths, tables, bar are all plentiful. There was a DJ who came later. Good music . She has in the heat here and I am glad. So many restaurants don't run the heat in the winter and I stopped going there, in the winter no one wants to be cold. I could feels the heat and it felt so good.Food: 5 stars. I had the coconut collards, plantains, and rice and peas. I also had sorrell to drink. The plantains were fixed to perfection. The coconut collards were a surprise, but they were good. I'm a collard purist, but I enjoyed these. The rice and peas were also good. The sorrell was more like a spritz, I didn't taste the flavors I am used to, but it was done well. I would prefer a stronger sorrell drink where I can taste the flowerService: 5 stars. Attentive and met my needs in a timely fashion at the booth. The bartender was very very busy, but she handled her business.Adult beverages: 5 stars. The bar was super busy. I had coconut rum punch. It was good. They wear gloves. If I had any feedback it would be to offer more green veggies on the weekend. I like a balanced meal so I would like the brocollini and cabbage to be offered on the weekend too. I would also suggest maybe adding a four veggie plate to the menu. I eat meat, but not a lot of it. So there are times when I just want veggies. I will also say, a protein with no green veggies or starch is not a balanced meal. So maybe offer fish, green veggies, and rice as a meal. Maybe offer jerk chicken, rice, and green veggies as a meal.I will be back.
