This week, our dog Naina started suffering a fever from cancer. She was painful and not very responsive. We rushed her in, where Village Vets admitted her for 24-hour care through the weekend. They were up front about the costs, the procedures, and unfortunately, the prognosis as well. I called a few times to check on her and they were always very kind and understanding. They were also prompt to call me with any updates as well.We mostly worked with Dr. Franco, Dr. Cotton, and Dr. Hand, as well as their technicians Brandon and William. All of them were so supportive, and we can't thank them enough for their care.Sadly, we did have to make the hard decision to let her pass as her condition was declining, and we didn't want her to suffer any longer. They let us spend as much time with her as we needed, and when the time came, Dr. Franco explained what would happen and next steps.Altogether, the experience was as pleasant as it could be. Keep doing what you're doing, and thank you for not giving up on Naina.

honestly love the doctors an veterinarian assistant/Technician but the front desk staff could use a little more hospitality training. very dry an act as if they are annoyed or bothered by the presence of the customer. in an environment like this I'd like to be greeted by a positive attitude/ energy instead it's continuously giving stale bread.......please fix it.

Went in with my baby at 3am Sunday morning. The lady that checked us in was basically cruella devil. It seemed like they cared more about my money than the health of my baby. The lady that checked me in was just really strange and mean. I gave my baby half a tramadol for her pain and after she jumped down my throat for doing that she told me they prescribe tramadol. I mean what the hell was she talking about? Psychopath was making a terrible morning even worse. How does this weirdo have a job working with the public? I think that when your fur baby is dying a little sympathy and comfort goes a long way. She was also peeking out the blinds at us as we left until she noticed we saw her and she amidiately closed them like some kind of creeper. Don't waste your money on a place that cares about money more than caring for animals.

Don't bother, used before, but no more. They are aggravated about questions & don't seem to care about our tears. Dying fur baby & $$$$, not much info.

I took my two Saint Bernards to Village Vets in Decatur for the past 10 years, since they were 8 weeks old. It has gone down hill so bad the past 3-4 years it should not be licensed! My 10 year old Saint Bernard went in on thanksgiving with a questionable blocked bowels l and he was limping on his front leg . We were in the exam room for over 6 hours before being seen in the ER. My dog had been put on an antinflammatory by VIllage Vets a few months before for his limping and leg pain. He had also lost 15 lbs that they did not seem concerned about. After finally being seen in the ER he ended up staying two nights as they tried to figure out his bowel blockage. Surgery was a possibly, but they were able to get his bowels moving without surgery. When we picked him up he was brought to the lobby limping and covered in feces head to toe. My daughter picked him up and she did not want to leave with him covered in feces and matted tail. They vet tech became defensive and angry when she asked to speak to the vet about the condition of our St. Bernard. She was told he could stay another night and they would clean him up. Our bill at that point was already 2500 dollars. The vet she spoke to actually agreed that he should have been cleaned up before being discharged but he could not do anything about it. I asked my daughter what they said about his limping and leg pain and she was told we needed to make another appt or bring him back in to the ER for another visit. Needless to say after all that I was not taking him back to Village Vet. The next day I took him to a new vet in East Atlanta and they diagnosed him with bone cancer (osteo sarcoma) in his front leg within 30 minutes of seeing him. He lived another 3 weeks. Please find a better option. I took a very sick and hungry, half dead cat that found in the road here. Poor guy was lost and his owner was in the hospital. They scanned his chip and found the owner but they still charged me for an "exam". They did absolutely nothing while I was there for over an hour with him gasping for breath. I tore a paper cup into a small bowl to give him water, and gave him some catfood I found in my car. I asked for a brush to try to brush out his matted and dirty fur, and used disinfecting wipes to try and clean him up a little. This was a terrible experience. I will never be going back. They have no heart for even the most sick and injurred and those who try to rescue them. I expected they would rush him in, clean up his nose, give him IV fluids. They seemed just happy to have him to use him to get money from the owner when they get out of the hospital.

People were friendly and efficient but the level of care and administrative issues put my dog at risk.I brought my elderly dog in for a suspected seizure. Vets ran blood work and additional tests which came back inconclusive. They recommended additional tests from a different lab and some anti-seizure/convulsion medication with "minimal to no side effects." We were told the results would be emailed the to the regular vet by the next morning at the latest. The documentation was never sent to our regular vet, so additional follow ups were needed. When the documentation was finally shared, our regular vet said there were 8 forms which were mostly left blank and at the wrong level of detail. More critical, Village vets prescribed an anti-seizure/convulsion medicine with instructions to dose 2 pills, twice a day. Our regular vet let us know that this was 4X the recommended dosage for this dog and that Village Vets were incorrect in their dosage and instructions. This explains why our elderly dog has been stumbling around like a drunk for the past couple of days which resulted in 3 falls (painful and dangerous for a dog with arthritis and of his age).In summary, we payed close to $1K to overdose our dog for a full week.

These guys saw my dog when he was very sick. They explained the ailment and the treatment he would receive extremely thoroughly. When he was better they sent him home with medicine and a clear explanation of each drug and its purpose. In a string of failures, my local vet later botched prescription refill, and I had to make an emergency call for a few pills to get by. No problem. Thank you so much for saving my dog and giving him a few months or years. We're still unclear how long he will live but you continue to keep him here with us and we're grateful.

A very long overdue review. I took my cat, Lily, here back in August and I have nothing but great things to say about the services I received from Dr. McKinney and the Village Vets team. Immediately upon arrival my cat was assessed and triaged to ensure she was ok to wait for treatment. After waiting, we were called back where my cat was examined in front of me by the vet, they didn't take her back to a different room but rather walked me through everything that was being assessed. My concerns were addressed, listened too, and not brushed off in any way. All of the staff I interacted with were caring and made sure I knew what my next steps were regarding medication and follow-ups. Very reasonably priced as well! There was a long wait between being triaged and being seen, but it's an emergency vet so this was expected. If I ever have another emergency with my cat, I will be bringing her back here. Thank you so much Dr. McKinney and team!

Took a stray kitten here today who didn't make it. The staff was great and really caring. Not too expensive either. They made this experience less stressful.

We have used the ER several times over the years for our babies, and they're always great. Most recently, they helped us treat my cat, Lucy, after she and one of my dogs got into a fight. At first, the prognosis was very grim, as she wouldn't put any weight on her front paws or potty on her own. Thankfully, with some pain medication, lots of rest, and some guidance from Dr. Neal and Dr. Prather, she has healed up and is back to her old self - playing and all! The entire staff was very helpful and kind during this process.

My dog was attacked by two other dogs. It was terrifying. After getting myself patched up at the ER, as new Atlanta residents, we had to find an emergency vet for our hurting, bleeding, traumatized senior dog. I am so glad we found The Village Vets Emergency location. This five star review is coming on the back end of seven visits to VVE over a month of rehabilitative work with multiple puncture wounds, sutures, etc. They treated our dog so kindly and empathically. We worked with half a dozen different techs and two vets over the course of recovery and every. single. person (shout out to Blair, Will, Terrance, Rachael and Drs. Hand and Prather especially!!) was professional, warm, kind and caring. You know the vet is good when your dog is EXCITED to be there.VVE did more than take care of us. They cared for us, and most importantly, they showed our dog love and care every time we came in.I don't really have any negative feedback. Every visit exceeded expectations for care and communication. Fees were totally in line with the work that was done and the work (bandaging, debriding, suturing) was excellent. Most importantly, communication throughout was clear and helpful. I strongly recommend VVE.Thank you for saving our dog. Thank you so much.

This is the worst vet I have ever been to. The front desk staff were super unsympathetic and incredibly ignorant about animals. My dog was panting and shaking from pain and they made us sit for hours because of a "shift change" thinking that was normal. Then they told us he likely was simply nervous and said we could go home with nothing done. We went to a real emergency vet and he had a perforation that was bringing air into his colon and was in such extreme pain he needed an IV. He passed away. Village Vet is useless and even I could see my little guy needed help when they didn't care. Do NOT waste your time with these people.

Brought my dog in for chocolate ingestion at the recommendation of our normal vet. Of course it was super dark chocolate so I was in a pretty good panic. Front desk staff was super nice and understanding of my tears. Told me I would wait 5 min, it was about that when I was brought to an exam room. A Vet tech saw me almost immediately to explain the process- they'd induce vomiting then go from there. Took her back, and then about 15 min later brought her back and I got to see the vomit (definitely chocolate). They were so nice and informative. Then told me they'd call poison control for a recommendation on the amount of chocolate and treatment, and after they get that info the doc would see us. Then came a long wait because Poison Control had them on hold. The doctor came in every 30 min to update us and never made us feel neglected. They let our pup hang as well, and let my husband in when he arrived to the room. When they finally got an answer they came in right away with treatment options, which included an outpatient option. Felt like they gave us all the info and the price isn't too bad for the immediacy and good service. Recommend this place for emergency needs.
