We stayed at this location for the third time this past weekend. We stay here for the State NJROTC competition annually. We have not had any issues previously. However, this time we were very disappointed.
Upon check in we found a half eaten pizza in the mini fridge, no trash bag in the bathroom trash can which lead to seeing what appeared to be mold growing on the bottom on the can, something sticky on multiple counters, debris on the floor which clearly hadn’t been vacuumed and even hair on the sleeper sofa cushion. Unfortunately due to the event the weekend we knew unlikely they’d have any other available rooms, but my fiancé brought the pizza box down to the counter to ensure it was disposed of and to let them know including the sticky counters. The desk rep gave him a bottle of cleaning solution and a couple wash clothes. He came back up and cleaned multiple surfaces and brought the items back downstairs. We felt very uncomfortable in the room questioning if the bed had even been cleaned vs remade at that point.
Upon check out we had to wait several minutes before staff addressed us then when we asked for receipt proceeded to wait several minutes before the lady came back with one which showed no dollar amount on the paper at all. Just a $0 balance due stating due to advance payment. We had to go to be on time for the event so just left.
We really feel we should have received a refund or at very least a discount for the experience.
I tried addressing this via the online chat option and the representative took forever to reply then suddenly said 20,000 points would be “returned” to my account, but I paid with a credit card not points and 20,000 points does barely even covers the amount of points for HALF of a room booking. Then the chat was ended despite me asking for further clarification. No points even showing.
I do not want points refunded. I want the charge to my credit card refunded…or at least partial.
Response to owner:
Nobody said they were trying to see how best they could accommodate me. They said they were "refunding" me 20,000 points. The chat then disappeared. I attempted to go back and said multiple times "Hello" and no response. I tried to request a live rep again and no response. The points weren't showing nor are now. I'm confused how payment information isn't available for prepaid reservations when I feel like the majority of individuals reserve their hotels in advance. You have my contact information so hopefully I will hear from you shortly if somebody is in fact still working on a solution, but after having to clean our own room then spending almost a hour trying to resolve via chat we felt a review was appropriate.

My wife and I came to GA on a trip and stayed here overnight on 9-13-2024. We thought we were booking through them but unfortunately found out after it was a through a third party site so we paid way too much for the room. Then when we got there they charged us an additional $25 for doing so. The bathroom was not the best it definitely needs work and when you shower water goes everywhere. It's definitely a slip and fall hazard. We went to dinner that night at the Mexican restaurant across the parking lot and brought back $50 worth of food for our 8 hour drive home the next day. All night long ee listened to the clanking loud noise if the air conditioner. When we woke up in the morning we went to breakfast at the Huddle House and returned an hour before checkout time to find the cleaning lady in our room and she had thrown out all of our belongings left in our room. When we went to the front desk to speak to the manager the receptionist said the manager was gone and she took our information to have the manager call us as soon as possible. We never received a phone call from anyone and we tried calling back noone would answer the front desk phone. We will never stay there again or in any Hampton inn by Hilton again.
This was my wife's review. The owner responded and suggested that we call and speak with the general manager, so I did just that. I requested a refund for our stay due to the invasion of our privacy being that their staff members entered our room without permission while we were not checked out and it was not checkout time. Their gm explained that this was standard practice if nobody answered their knock at the door. That makes zero sense to me, we could have very well been in the shower. The gm told me that a $50 Wal-Mart gift card would be "more than fair" to make up for their mistake. I told her don't bother and we will never stay at any of their locations ever again. Whatever you do, if you decide to stay, don't leave personal belongings in the room if you're not gonna be in the room, especially anything of value.

Rooms: Fresh & Comfortable. Good lighting. Location, it’s downtown in an average town. Was a stop on the return from a Blue Ridge vacation. Right in the center of town. Plenty of restaurants. Great helpful staff.

Close to everything and Walmart is out the back and there’s a buffet up the street.

Walkability: You can walk to just about every restaurant and shopping.

We come into town once a year to visit a few family members & visit my dad's grave. I've stayed at AirBNB's AND three other hotels in this town. THIS IS THE BEST PLACE TO STAY BY FAR. Walmart is RIGHT next door - as well as a Mexican restaurant + gas station. I always feel so safe staying here. Staff is friendly, welcoming, clean, and patient. It's dog + cat friendly. You can choose your room the day of check in. Free breakfast. The rooms are VERY clean -- I'd go as far to say the cleanest place I've ever stayed. WE LOVE STAYING HERE. I could go on and on. If you are going into Douglas - STAY HERE. There is ONE CON I should mention: the pool is TINY. So if you're going to want to swim laps in the pool.... maybe don't stay here. Other than that, if you want a good safe place - stay here.... you won't regret it.
