Courteous and grateful staff. Location is always tidy. My only complaint would be logging in with the scanner can be a little finicky. But the staff will help with that also. I'll be back to donate more.

Lazy staff. Got in 10 min late for appointment and turned away. Took 5 min to even be acknowledged at front. Disappointed when I get daily emails to donate. This is part of the problem why people don't donate. Sad!

Staff is kind but need training. They shoved the needle up into my arm because blood was not flowing out and injured my nerve. I told them it hurts but left it in until I explicitly said take the needle out. Please train the staff.

Joshua Reid is the best guy here, did everything smoothly, swiftly, and almost painlessly. Also, they have reclining chairs. Very cool, best donation center I've been to.

I gave blood for the first time, and let me tell you, the people working here were extremely accommodating and kind. They ensured I was comfortable and that the procedure was quick and (almost) painless. As someone who still hates needles, I no longer have worries about needing to give blood with these folks around, as they were very professional and amazing! Just make sure you have an appointment set up and you'll have no issues whatsoever, highly recommend!

I donated some platelets at this Red Cross in Duluth and had a great experience! The staff were incredibly kind: calm, gave me blankets, wiped my tears(from yawning since I was so cozy) and just radiated love and compassion. When donating platelets, it takes about 2-2.5 hours, but it goes by quick because they put a tv in your chair and you pick a movie. I chose Inception and it literally was the PERFECT timing! He was bandaging me up at the last scene of the movie.PS: others that gave blood were quick- in and out in about 20 minutes!Thankful for them and all they do to help others!

I was nervous about donating, but the people there are super cool! They make sure you are accommodated for and there are always plentiful snacks and juice for afterwards. I had a great experience and would encourage any hesitant readers to try it out!

I donate blood every 60 days. I have been going to this location to donate for the last several years. Everyone is really nice and always appreciates every donation. After you donate there are snacks and water/juice available. I am able to make an appointment on-line that is convenient for me. It only takes approximately 30-40 minutes.

This location is great for donating blood and the medical staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, and caring towards the donors. It's preferable that you make an appointment to donate as you may have to wait or come back later, but they want to take all the donors they can get. They are professional and respectful of your privacy when they go through the check-in process (medical evaluation/history). They are also careful and safe when they conduct the donation process. They are willing to help accommodate people who struggle with needles, blood, or other issues and will check in about your well-being during the process. They offer free snacks and drinks and encourage you to rest and recover at the end.

I made an appointment to donate. It was confirmed online. I found a sitter. I drove around for more than an hour to drop off my children and to arrive at the appointment. They turned me away because they said they didn't have enough workers.

I signed up to give platelets, completed rapid pass, but arrived about 5 minutes late. My driver's license wouldn't scan so an employee entered the information, and then I sat and waited 2-3 more minutes. An employee came and told me to go into a room for pre-screening, where I disturbed an employee who was on her cellphone in the room. Just as we were getting started on the pre-screening, the site manager came in and said that I couldn't donate platelets because, by then, it was 13 minutes after my appointment time! The site says they close at 3 o'clock, platelet donation takes two hours, so I'm not sure why they would even make a 1:30 appointment. I would've just given them a rating of one star based on today's experience, but my previous experience at this site has been more positive. By the way, they do use a two arm technique instead of the one arm technique used at some other agencies.

The people at this place are unprofessional. I am always getting alerts to give blood but when I go, I’m told they are not taking blood unless I have an appointment. I have given blood many of times without appointments even when Covid was at its height. There is no one waiting and only a few people giving blood when I arrive. This lady yells across the wall, “we’re not taking walk-ins” . She doesn’t say hello or thanks for coming or nothing. You would think that she would at least try to get me an appointment for the near future if blood is needed do badly. As a black man, I am embarrassed at how some brothers and sisters don’t know how to be professional and find ways to say “yes” versus “no “every chance they get. Learn what it means to “be of service” to others if that is truly your job! I don’t give blood for my health but for others in hopes that if I need blood someday, it will be available for me as well. Some, not all of the people at this place, are straight up ignorant! My name is Winston Williams and I stand by every word written on this platform. Black folk, stop being so disrespectful and disconcerting about others. Learn emotional intelligence and how to apply it when communicating to all people.

This review is not meant to put a shadow on the good people at the donation center as much as the lack of faith in the direction of the policy makers of the organization. I have been a regular donor of A- blood to the red cross for some time and, at last notice was at the 8 gallon level. Today however is probably my last attempt to donate via the Red Cross. I had made , or so I thought, a reservation on Friday for a 10:45 Power red donation on Sunday 8/22/21 at the Duluth GA center. Before went to the center I completed the rapid pass and arrived at the center on time . When I went to check in I was informed that they had no record of an appointment for me. This was not the first time I had made an appointment which had been lost in the Red Cross data system. They did however said I could check in as a Walk-in as the time slot was open. After completing all of the preliminary process an verifing the Rapid pass check I went the the process station. As all the prparations were being made, the locating the vein for the needle insertion was the next on the list. I told the Nurse that my veins were deep and that not every nurse can find them on the first try. Maybe if I hadn't said anything things may have turned out better. but once the needle was inserted the vein became as alusive as usual and only provided a very limited flow of blood. A second Nurse was called in but no better results were obtained. Once the needle was removed I offered to let then give my other arm a try however I was told they could not do that as that was against policy and I would not be able to donate today. This was not the first time this had happened but what I was told next is what convinced me to move my Blood donations to another organization. I said I would make another appoinment next week. I was told I would have to wait another 4 months to try again. I asked why I would have to wait if no Blood was taken. I was told it was policy. I asked if the Nurse was sure about that , she checked with what I assume was the lead nurse on duty who relayed that it wasn't 4 months but would be 54 days. Im sorry, but this makes absolutley no sence to me so I will be researhing other organization and or local hospitals who would interesed in my donations Gene K
