Owner helped me find the perfect hanbok for my daughter. She even altered the headpiece for her for free. She’s a pretty good seamstress too. She has quick hands.
My family and I were pleased with the customer service. Will be returning when my daughter turns 1 for my hanbok and my husbands. Thank you so much.
친절 하시고 너무 감사해요. 착하고 많이 도와 주셔서 감사하고요. ^^

This store has high quality and beautiful hanboks, and the owner was an absolute gem in helping me find the perfect ones. I came here looking for two hanboks - one to wear as my wedding dress and one for the rehearsal dinner. The owner's attention to detail and ability to find a hanbok that was perfect for me and my vision made my whole process significantly easier and smoother. The owner was also very honest (in a good way)! I'm not a fan of fake flattery, so I really appreciated her honesty about what styles and colors looked good on me. She was also very helpful in teaching me how to properly wear and maintain my hanboks, and she even gave me very helpful suggestions on how to best style my hair for each hanbok. I felt cared for and valued as a costumer, and I plan on coming back when I plan my future baby's one-year birthday celebration :) In terms of cost, I felt all the prices were fair. I compared the prices with hanboks of similar style of quality online, and nothing I was quoted was unreasonably more expensive. I felt it's comparable with the prices I would've paid if I shipped and imported ones from Korea.

** I'm updating my review 18 hours after posting it because the owner contacted my mother to complain about my review because it wasn't positive. She asked that I remove this review and speak to her directly instead. My intention for sharing my experience is so that other couples are aware and can avoid going through what I went through.
TL;DR - If you plan to book with Hanbok Town for your wedding, proceed with caution. Ensure that all agreements are documented in writing. Be aware that apparently, she considers it acceptable to insult paying customers in Korean, assuming they won't understand.
Our experience with Hanbok Town was less than ideal:
1. When we first called to inquire about prices, we listed everything we were looking for and were given a specific dollar amount for everything we wanted. I agreed to this price and paid when booking the appointment.
2. During the initial consultation and fitting, which included my mother, my husband (not Korean), and his mother (also not Korean), the owner made several condescending remarks about my husband and his mother in Korean, knowing they wouldn't understand. We were essentially given whatever she chose, without our input or asking our opinions. The entire appointment took less than 10 minutes to select three hanboks and felt rushed.
3. At the end of the appointment, I was told I needed to pay an additional ~$350 for my MIL's dress, which I had thought was included in the initial payment because I listed it as one of the things we needed to rent from her. I went ahead and paid anyways.
4. Two days before the wedding, she called to confirm venue details and informed me of an additional $300 fee (required to be paid in cash) for two people to set up and facilitate the ceremony. I had assumed this was included in my original payment. She also said it was mandatory to tip the two people a minimum of $200 (also in cash), adding another $500 to my expenses. She continued to emphasize that we HAD to tip AT LEAST $200. By this point, I had spent nearly $2500 for less than an hour of service.
Of all of the vendors I booked for our wedding, by far, working with Hanbok Town was the worst experience. After speaking with other couples and their families, I found that many had similar experiences. If I could go back, I would rent through Etsy.
Unfortunately, she is the only person in Atlanta offering this service in person. I'm leaving two stars as the people who came and helped set up and facilitate were wonderful.

My wedding day became an unforgettable memory, thanks to Hanbok Town. From the moment I stepped into their enchanting boutique, I knew I was in for a treat. Greeting with warmth and expertise from the owner quickly put me at ease.
I had the pleasure of renting a hanbok for my special day, and the experience was nothing short of fantastic. The selection was extensive, offering a range of styles and colors to suit every preference. With the help of the knowledgeable owner, I found the perfect ensemble that made me feel like royalty.
I can't recommend Hanbok town enough for anyone looking to add a touch of elegance and tradition to their special day. Whether it's a wedding, a traditional ceremony, or any other occasion worth celebrating, Hanbok town is the place to go for an unforgettable hanbok experience.

I visited to see the hanbok to wear at the wedding reception, and the owner was very kind enough to recommend several pieces and let me try them on, so I was very grateful. All the steps I took were not in vain! All of the hanbok I tried were of good quality, and the owner also worked with me on which one would look best, so it was a great experience. Due to circumstances, I wasn't able to buy a hanbok on the day I visited, but I was very grateful that they kindly let me try it on and helped me decide!
We visited from 6+ hours away to try on a set of hanbok for our wedding reception and the owner was so kind and welcoming to us! The long drive to here was not wasted! All the hanbok we tried on were high quality and beautiful, and the owner took the time to help us decide which one would be the best look for my fiance. Due to personal circumstances, we weren’t able to purchase today but regardless of this, the owner was so kind and helpful in letting us try on the apparel and we are beyond satisfied with the experience we had here. Highly recommend!

The owner was very friendly and helpful. She was very enthusiastic about helping to find the best look for me. She let me try on several outfits and gave great feedback after each outfit change. The store has a wide range of beautiful authentic Hanboks. Would definitely recommend to everyone; even to people who may be trying it for the first time.

Very odd and unfortunate experience.
My fiancé and I came to buy a hanbok for our wedding. Upon entering (with an appointment) we noticed the store was empty, my soon to be mother in law and fiancé (who both speak Korean) started calling out while my mom and I looked at the display. The store is very well organized with beautiful hanboks available.
The owner came in and greeted us. My fiancé and my soon to be mother in law told her about our intentions. The owner suggested we rent the hanboks and we replied that we wanted to buy them. My fiancé and I live 2 hours away and my soon to be mother in law lives 4 hours away. So we were ready to make the investment.
After explaining that we wanted to buy them, she explained that the hanboks were very expensive and to re consider. This was the first time I have tried on a real hanbok, so I wanted to understand what would look best on my body type. After some conversation about the hanboks, I was finally able to try on 1 hanbok, I fell in love and wanted to try on a different top. The owner seemed quite upset at my request, but picked a top. After some conversation with the family we wanted to try on another hanbok, so the owner started to roughly undress me IN FRONT of the whole family while mumbling under her breath. I stopped her to hide behind the curtain and the owner realized the mistake and apologized.
It was at that point that I felt uncomfortable with the situation and wanted to leave. The passive aggressive behavior and atmosphere made me want to leave immediately.
My soon to be mother in law noticed my change in mood and asked the owner if we did something wrong. She said that she didn’t want to give us the whole experience if we weren’t going to buy anything. At this point, I was offended and ready to leave. Luckily, my soon to be mother in law asked to not be presumptuous and judge us.
The owner had a sudden change in character and had us on another hanbok. At this point, I was very uncomfortable with the rushed service, the implementation of her being a religious leader, and how we should just “trust her taste”. My mother and I left as soon as we helped clean up while she continued to wash my soon to be mother in law with complements and judgements.
Unless you are ready to say yes the to the dress based on a single look, do not shop at this store. I unfortunately loved the hanboks, but I cannot stand the idea of being judged based on looks, wealth, and assumed of a horrible character.
I wish I was able to support a small, local business that day. But I hope the owner does not judge her costumers in the future.

My friend and I went into this store on a Sunday afternoon because I’ve always wanted to look into getting my niece a baby hanbok. We had masks and walked inside the store. The door was open there was no signage of it being “Appointment Only” as everyone is stating is how they do it below. Regardless, we take about two steps into the store and a lady comes towards us and asks us something which I couldn’t quite understand at first. But I believe she was asking if we where going to purchase a hanbok … so my friend said actually we’re just looking. As soon as we said that she said OH… actually we’re appointment only … the started saying SORRY … in like a high pitched what sounded to me as a mocking voice. But that’s just me. Anyways we where a little shocked but not shocked at the same time that we got treated like this. Keep in mind we are colored (Hispanic/black) but that shouldn’t matter. Anyways we found it funny afterwards how she was sitting there with no mask on and then it wasn’t until after she verified that we where just looking that she decided to mention they only did appointments. Makes me wonder what she would have done if we said yes we are looking for this etc etc … but I’ll tell you what I have a friend who lives in Daegu, South Korea who can easily get my any hanbok I would want. So even if I was specifically looking for something in the future. I would not return here. If you’re store is appointment only say it from the beginning and maybe close your door as well as have it clearly posted somewhere so that people aren’t constantly walking in on you. I mean for safety reasons and just so that people aren’t confused.

My wife (Korean) and I are doing a wedding photo shoot and she always talked of wanting to wear a hanbok. So we found this place next to duluth hmart to try it out. I, for one, was surprised by the wide array and quality of the traditional Korean outfits they carried, and the expertise of the owners as they were so good at making suggestions. We ended up reserving the perfect outfit right away! Highly recommend this place for everyone looking for traditional Korean outfit!

My wife and I had a wonderful experience here. The store has a wide variety of hanboks in different styles and colors. Hanboks, in modern times, are mainly worn on special occasions so they are of high quality and the ones in this store were no different. Don’t be fooled by the ones sold online in America for significantly less. You get what you pay for. Here you get quality and authentic Korean hanboks. The owners were courteous throughout the whole process from selecting hanboks to explaining pyebaek (korean wedding custom). The owners also have many years of experience in dress making and alterations to ensure the fit of hanboks were just right on me and my wife.Renting was a great alternative in time and money than trying to purchase hanboks from korea and being unsure of fit when it arrived. If you are looking for hanboks, this is a great place to rent for your next event! We love how our pictures of our pyebaek came out! Thank you Hanbok Town!

I am not a fan of negative reviews, but I do think it is important to let other people know what they are getting into.I am getting married, and my fiancé is Korean, so I wanted to wear a hanbok because I think it is very pretty! This is located within the H Mart shopping district (I believe under the Pika Pika Hair Salon). My fiancé was able to make an appointment for the day before. Our appointment was at noon. Everything was fine there. All of the hanboks were absolutely beautiful! It was amazing quality and everything. They really did treated us right when we first walked in.They picked out the skirt and the jacket for me first to figure out a style that we would go for. And then we picked out the outfit for him after to compliment my dress. They had so many different options, which was really nice! So, we found the outfit we liked. Now, it is time to talk about payment. We all got back into our normal wear, and that was when things got pretty bad, like Sarah's review mentioned. They quoted us $1,200 for my dress alone. This includes the skirt, the jacket, shoes and I believe petticoat. My fiance's was going to be $1,000. This includes the pants, jacket, undershirt and the rope. She had given us a discount of $200, because it was originally $1,400 and $1,200, respectively. Just like the previous review, we did not want to go with the first store we had went too. We did not want to pay that much as well. We asked how much renting would be. We could not have it altered (of course), it would have been $600 per person. She kept mentioning that this was "high quality" and it felt like a very nice quality. But I didn't mind getting something on a more medium quality and pay a more medium price. I don't mind paying for what I get. It was just outside my budget. She had asked how much we were willing to spend, and she said they cannot do it at the price we mentioned. I respected it, but we just can't do it.I do not speak Korean, but he does. And he said that we wanted to think about it. After he mentioned that, she said that we *should* buy the hanboks because they spent so much time helping us find an outfit. Number 1, we are not going to be guilted into buying something just because someone spent time with us, UNLESS it says so on the appointment request. Number 2. If you want someone to pay, simply charge an appointment fee. Then you won't feel like your time was "wasted". Because I've been to wedding dress stores, and they do not make me buy a dress, why would we buy a dress here? The bridal boutique doesn't even charge to try on dresses. Even $600 is enough for us to think and consider our options.*I will say that there is a section on the wall that mentioned NOT to take pictures and we did of my outfit. She mentioned that we took pictures so we should pay. I didn't see the notice - our fault, and I told her I can delete the pictures of the dress I was wearing. And we both pushed that we can delete the pictures in front of her so she can see it - but it wasn't really about the picture. It felt like she wanted leverage for us to buy something because we took a picture.I'm Asian, so I know Asian guilt tripping when I see it. We do NOT appreciate it. I think it would be the best experiences for all if they just charge in the beginning. This will save them from "wasted time". Because I am a person who believes in paying people their worth, but also respecting our wishes if we do not want to go through it that day. I do not want to feel like I'm forced to buy anything. I wanted to talk to our family about it, because we were paying for it ourselves, and we are in school. They've been in business for awhile it seems, it just a bad experiences which I wish it could have been better. If you have money for it, this is a great store. But it would be better not to come here and not buy if you do not plan on it. And that is why it is a negative review.
