The manager just couldn't resolve the problem. We got a cheaper thing and they refused to let us return what we bought from them.

Was a loyal customer for this store ever since they opened. Have not had an issue until now, but I am so frustrated with what happened I don’t think I can ever shop here again. They have very unclear return policies and they don’t tell you about it at time of purchase. Purchased several of the same item and the majority of them turned out to have a manufacturers defect (or just cheaply made) and they refused to return it and referred me to their customer care number. I called the customer care number and waited for half an hour while I was in store. I was finally connected to a representative and the representative told me that I shouldn’t have called and that the store should return the items no problem. The representative then hung up on me. I was still in the store and I went and found the manager. The manager went and told the store owner and they did not care to make it right. Refused to return the items STILL. I am on a first name basis with several of the employees because I enjoy coming here and I am a loyal customer. I won’t be returning again after this experience. Going to Bass Pro from now on.

Amazing sales and store! Ordered for quick curbside pickup and that delivered a wonderful experience as well! Peter is such a great guy, brought my ordered items out quickly and with such a great attitude and smile, made my day! We need more people in the world like him! And more Nike prices like these!

The attendants were as helpful as the could be. It is sad that no one could authorize permission for my 88YO mom to try sitting in a boxed up chair before buying it. Fortunately the chair was comfortable for Mom to sit in when we unboxed it at home.

I’m a loyal Redwing customer and always purchase my work boots from them. However, I had an accident that left me without work for almost one year. Because of this I wasn’t able to purchase the same quality when heading back to work this June. I came here and purchased a pair of Cat boots for around $150 in May. I called today to let them know the bottom of the shoe was ripped and detaching. This is not damage that can be cause after only one month of use. I tried to exchange for a new pair but they refused without a receipt. I don’t even see Cat boots being sold anywhere else. I didn’t want my money back just an exchange for a clearly defective item. You could also see the bottom of the shoes have not even been worn out. So I didn’t use them and try to exchange for a new pair. I have never experienced this with work boots before and didn’t think I would need to save the receipt for damage to the boots after one month.I understand the return policy stated within 60 days and you need a receipt. However, customer service is taking care of the customer first and based on the bottom of the shoe not being worn down. I think they should have been exchanged.From now on I’ll be sure to stick with Redwing because their customer service is with taking my business there. They would have been sure to take care of this issue.

I first came here during the week it opened. There weren't that many customers, but the employees were plentiful and most of them seemed nervous and happy to be there - lots of smiles.Cut to my most recent visits.The parking lot is very big and free, so finding an open parking space should not be a problem at all for customers. Upon walking through the entrance, an employee greeted me with a smile and a warm verbal greeting. This store continues to look new, well organized, well lit, neat and clean. Employees on the sales floor don't appear to be as visible, or maybe management has determined that all staff members are trained and efficient, and not as many are needed at the same time, which is exactly what it looks like to me. Every time I've gone to the registers to make purchases or even do returns, I've been warmly greeted by the employees at the registers, and each of them have been nothing but courteous and efficient. I've never seen negative attitudes here, which is so great, resulting in great experiences.This store is big, but not as big as most of its nearby competitors. Academy Sports Outdoors has reasonable prices. One of the things that I like about this store is that the shoe department, in contrast to other sporting and outdoor stores, has its inventory available for customers to look through and find their own shoes to try on. I really dislike having to hunt down employees at other stores just so that I could ask them to get shoes for me. Waiting for employees to get shoes from the back inventory areas takes a lot longer than for me to look through the boxes on the sales floor.This is one of the stores that I try not to visit very often, because I can spend hours just walking around looking at everything.

I place an order online for my boy's baseball equipment. By the time I pulled up in the parking lot my order was ready and waiting for me. Superb service and great prices.

I returned an item that was defective. The next week I order the same item online for pickup. Upon picking up the item, I checked to make sure it didn’t have the same defect. IT DID. The original item I purchased was placed back on the rack, and staff simply repackaged it and tried to sell it. This is not how I expect a business to operate. Academy, you can do better…

Do not shop here/ pick up from here. I Purchased 200$ of goods in here and they gave me used and defective items. I spoke to Naomi the manager and she was downplaying the issues. She exchanged my items but I received no type of apology nor compensation/recompense for having to come out of my way to return the items. Rafael was very nice though. He helped me with my issues. I was not satisfied in this situation and will not be spending money here in the future. Don’t waste your time.
