They filed for me for one year. Everything was fine. The next year I had some complications with quickbooks and my taxes required a little extra attention. I asked multiple times to get on the phone so we could get on the same page and work everything out. They refused because they were behind and too busy. Instead emailed back and forth with me for days so the confusion continued. Instead the told me to simply send a check that was 45% higher than the year prior with no explanation and said I just needed to trust them and then would get it figured out in the summer. When I asked again about getting on the phone they said I was no longer a client and to find someone else... 9 days before taxes were due.If you're looking for someone that has time for you and willing to explain your taxes, this is not the place.

The professionals at Levy Tax do a good job of preparing tax returns, but are not responsive to voicemails and emails. This is harmful because it could cost you money and time. During the year, important things come up like: -changing employers and needing tax advice -end of year questions to help lower your taxable base -questions which require a time sensitive response -compensation package changes which cause RSU changes, and needing to know the answer, but chances are you'll be unable to get a response from the accountant about the question If you experience or "may experience" any of the above, this is Not the firm for you. You will be frustrated and may make costly mistakes because you can't reach your accountant with questions. You will be stressed out because your open window is closing and you can't reach your accountant. If you are accustomed to submitting information using a secure portal, the software Levy uses is glitchy and they do not know how to troubleshoot issues. If you'd like to shun modern technology to deliver everything in paper this is your firm.
