“So thankful for Vallant Bank, and especially for Laura Rutledge in the home loan dept!! I’ve been struggling to handle financial affairs and “lingo” for just over a year, now, since loosing my wife of 33 yrs. My late wife literally handled every bill, from simple utilities to major loans for cars, homes, etc. You name it- she handled it all. She was naturally a very organized and savvy financial manager of all our bills and financial obligations. I did nothing but work, make money, and then trust her to make all the decisions that had to do with our money and circumstances regarding our finances. She was astute and amazing at handling all these matters. Needless to say, after her passing in March of 2025, aside from the grief and stress that follow losing someone deeply loved and invaluably special, I had no idea where to begin managing all my (our) financial affairs and responsibilities. Fast forward to July and August of 2026, I was ready to buy my “forever” home and hadn’t the slightest clue how to navigate such a pivotal and life-changing process. As I warned her in the beginning of her involvement in the process of my buying a home, I was as dumb as a sack of diapers when it came to tedious processes (such as buying a home) and financially soaked, contractual jargon! Laura never rolled or batted an eye! She was calm, thorough, empathetic, and ridiculously patient with me, no matter how much I didn’t understand something or how many “dumb” questions I asked! I know she spent hours, many after her 9-5 was over, meticulously working through my particular loan process, down to the day of our closing. I now have a beautiful home on four quiet, peaceful, and equally beautiful acres, thanks to Vallant, and most importantly, to Laura!! I cannot express enough gratitude to Laura for patiently and supportively helping me navigate the difficult (and VERY overwhelming) process of getting a home loan and making the single most nerve racking financial plunge most of us will ever make something way less stressful and overwhelming!! Laura, YOU’RE THE BEST!!!”
