“We had a really nice time at the orchard overall! We picked a bunch of apples, and the kids had a lot of fun. They also had goats that the kids could feed through the fence, which was a fun addition.

The one concern I wanted to mention is the electric fence around the animal area. It wasn’t mentioned to us, and there wasn’t a sign indicating that there was an electric wire running along the ground line of the regular chicken-style fencing. Unfortunately, my 5-year-old got zapped when he got close to the fence.

The staff was very kind and understanding when we brought it to their attention, (it was forgotten to be turned off due to baby animals being escape artists), and they made accommodations for us for the accident. I really appreciated the owner taking accountability and being understanding about what happened.

I completely understand that things can happen, and I’m not trying to discourage anyone from visiting—we genuinely enjoyed the orchard. I do think a simple sign saying something like “Caution: Electric Fence May Be On” would be a great addition, especially for families with small children who may not realize there is an electric wire at ground level or who might accidentally drop an apple near the fence.

Overall, we had a good experience, and I hope this small safety addition can help prevent another child from getting surprised by the fence.”

“Had a lovely time at R & A Orchards. The place has such a huge selection of fresh produce, baked goods, jams, snacks, and local treats that it was honestly hard not to keep picking things up. The atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, and you can tell it’s a popular stop for both locals and visitors.

Only small thing I noticed was that some of the tomatoes didn’t seem the freshest on the day I visited. Other than that, the overall experience was really enjoyable and definitely worth stopping by if you’re in the area.”

“Best and freshest apple pies ever! Being diabetic, Pendants apple pies never shoot my blood sugar up and the baked apples in their pies are always crunchy vs.. soggy and sugar-laden like store-bought apple pies.”

“First time. Selections were good. I wanted to try the fried pies. I chose an apple and a cream cheese. I was disappointed.
The filling was very scarce, the pie thin. The taste bland. I did not find it appealing or worth the 4 dollar price. Would not order again.”
