I think reviews are essential therefore I'll happily share my experience with this year's tax preparation services prepared by Erica... #1. I paid $600 for preparation and $26 for direct deposit and $13 software fees. (Unheard of prices) considering I have pretty straight forward taxes and never owed and don't require a lot of forms. I only proceeded with the services because she was referred and and wanted to stay loyal to the referral. I started the process, via email. Even provided previous year's taxes for reference. Took a week to provide a quote after she confirmed receipt of documentation. Took an additional week for her to send Docusign documents. Tried calling Erica, no answer for 2 weeks straight. Finally got ahold of her via email and I thought everything was submitted. (I started the process at the end of March and paperwork was submitted to IRS April 11, $600+ service) about 2 weeks went by I received a significantly lower state refund than what was quoted, emailed Erica and she confirmed that all her fees were taken from the state refund. Waited about 2 more weeks for the federal, NOTHING .I literally emailed Erica 2-3 times a week plus called daily and NOTHING. I have email proof that she may have responded 3 times since March 28. Tax season is over at this point so the lackof customer service is mind blowing. I started checking my credit for possible fraud activity and I spoke to the IRS 3 times. The first time they informed me that Erica made a data entry mistake and it took her over a week to correct it. I'm confused and just wanted to hear Erica's point and to see how I can rectify this issue, she could care less about answering any calls or responding to any emails. How was there a mistake when she had last year's taxes to use as a reference. Called the IRS back, there was an error with my address and my first time home buyers credit. Needless to say I had to work with the IRS directly to fix the errors, never heard from Erica after she got my money, and on May 22 I received my refund. I have several ways to validate that my story is true and accurate and I'll happily share. Tax preparers are held to a certain standard of behavior also, there are forma online to report a tax preparer for misconduct. Do your research and stay away from people chasing the dollar and not willing to provide customer service!!! I even looked on her FB and IG pages and saw people saying, I called you or can you call me... this is not an isolated event this is how she runs her business... BEWARE OF ANY COMPANY WHERE THE OWNER LEAVES THEMSELF A REVIEW... ERICA BROWN IS THE TAX PREPARER AND ERICA B LEFT AN OUTSTANDING REVIEW... IRONIC HUH???
