If I could give 0 stars, I would. Took my dog here concerned about her weight (she’s on the bigger side) they said it was just her 2 breeds mixed together & she needed a diet. I took her to another vet turns out she has hypothyroidism. They would have known that had they run tests on her. If you look at her you can clearly tell that she is not at a normal weight that a “diet” would fix. The staff are rude & very dismissive. Never ONCE did I meet Dr. Giles in the 5 years I took her there. Never could get past the waiting room & go back with my animals & I did not like that AT ALL. Something very off & weird about a vet who won’t see their patients parents.. Any questions I had were not answered. I’ve heard many other comments about this vet not properly taking care of the animals that we trusted them with. If you want to make sure your animals are properly taken care of, TAKE THEM SOMEWHERE ELSE!!

Now that we are at home and our baby has had a few days to heal, Dr. Giles AND staff at Peach Veterinary Care in Fort Valley, I am calling you out. I will not be adding photos to this post because they are very gruesome. If anyone would like to see them, feel free to message me.On Friday 1/19/24 we dropped off our dog to go through a standard routine neuter surgery. We picked him up at 4:30pm the same day, and immediately noticed abnormal abdominal swelling. I text one of the employees AND our regular vet prior to leaving the parking lot to ask if this is normal, Dr. Giles staff said it’s normal, and our regular veterinary stated this is very abnormal. By Sunday night, our dog was unable to sit, lay down, or walk more than a few steps. At more than 48 hours post surgery, the swelling after neutering should be minimal. His entire abdomen and surgical site was ballooned and full of fluid.Dr Giles staff asked us to bring him in the following morning. Upon bringing him in, they offered no explanation or empathy towards his condition. The front office staff said they wanted to monitor him and asked when he was given his last pain pill. I gave them the information and asked for them to clarify what the treatment plan for him is and ask that he is not left in a room and given pain pills/monitoring as his only treatment, because in my opinion he looks like he needs surgical repair and/or draining of fluid. They advised that he will be only monitored and given pain medication.I expressed my concerns once again through text at 1:07pm after dropping him off for “monitoring”, and we were not given an update on his condition until 11:00am the next day on Tuesday (22 hours apart) which was a text that said “he seems happy today. Swelling has spread. We can watch him another night and monitor or you can monitor him at home. His white blood cell count is normal, and he has no sign of infection. Swelling after castration is normal, expect dramatic swelling as before.”I advised that due to lack of explanation and concern and communication and no contact from the doctor at all that we will be picking him up. Upon picking him up, his entire lower abdomen and stomach up to his heart was full of fluid and nearly sagging to the ground. We arrived at his regular vet in Gray 1 hour later, and within 15 minutes they did imaging, blood work, and a doctor was in the room with us explaining his condition. His white blood cell count was over 28,000. He was in fact, severely infected, and his stomach down to his surgical site was full of blood. He had to stay in the hospital for 2 days to receive care for the infection. Dr Giles has seen the photos, and is very aware of this infection, and has had no comment and still to this day has never reached out to us for an apology or explanation on why they did no imaging, or actual “blood work” and if they did do blood work, they clearly are incapable of reading it. Please keep your animals safe, and do not leave your babies with this office.

If your animal is showing any signs of health problems or suffering and you want to put down because the animal is clearly not good, DO NOT GO HERE!!

Pretty dissapointed as this has been our vet for many years, but the rudeness from Dr. Giles that we experienced today was uncalled for. She needs to learn how to speak kindly and professionally to her customers. I would not recommend this vet and will be taking my pets elsewhere.

My cat had blood in his urine and they took him back, gave him fluids, and took a sample all while I waited in the lobby. They were quick and gave my answers before I left. I take all 5 of my cats there.
