We had a terrible experience in the 3 year old classroom with Ms. Yemisi. She was extremely unprofessional, rude, and unkind to my kid and other kid in front of me. One morning, when I was dropping off my child, I saw another kid was crying whom we knew over a year. I greeted her hi baby, are you ok? That's it, Ms Yemisi was furious, she started attacking me, why I reached to the kid when she was present. Because of parents like me, kids turn out in jail. Parents like me create drama. Oh god! She kept going and going. I reached out to the office and they were not much of a help, instead mentioning that Ms. Yemisi had been with the school for a long time and never had any complaints about her. We did not feel safe sending our child to the school where teacher like Ms. Yemisi is present. My 3 years old still remembers her teacher being not nice to her and her friends.
Another incident was when my child was in the toddler/2 year class, she got bit on her face by another child under teachers supervision. We were shocked!! The office moved my daughter who was not even 3 years old at that time to the 3 years old class.
I am not saying the whole school is bad. There were and still are few teachers in the daycare who are excellent. Its the failure of the management who could not handle situations like those. We saw so many class teachers leave the center within a short period of time. But, we did not pay much attention to it. But Ms. Yemisi took it to different level of unprofessionalism.

There are not enough stars in the world that I can give to this school. Grayson Academy has TRULY been a God-send. The people here are one of the very FEW people that I can trust with my child. My daughter was at a different school already [and had been for the past year and a half] when we toured this school. When I came, the person who gave us the tour was Ms. Syterra [who was so sweet, answered all of my bajillion questions, and gave me such peace]. I was very quickly impressed with what I saw, the level of organization, and what stood out the most was just how clean everything was [and I came in the middle of aftercare which is usually a very messy/chaotic time for most schools]. The menu options were very impressive! Food options listed were foods that I would eat myself, and they serve breakfast, lunch, and snack. I also love that they have cameras; definitely great for extra piece of mind [we only have one child so we’re very over-protective of her and all that goes on with her]! My daughter was in the Advanced Pre-K program which you had to be tested for. The advanced Pre-K teacher, Mrs. Della Dickerson has the heart of gold!!! That woman truly has a gift! She is such a blessing to all of the children and their parents and is such an asset to Grayson Academy. My daughter came into the school knowing only how to write her name and she left writing paragraphs. The curriculum in the advanced Pre-K class is unbelievable and with all that Mrs. Della instilled in our daughter, she was able to skip Kindergarten all together. And it’s not just academics, the children learned life lessons, how to properly conduct themselves, proper hygiene habits, interpersonal skills and so much more. The level of quality education far surpassed anything that I could have every fathomed. Imagine your 4/5-year-old reading complete books on their own, writing paragraphs, conducting science experiments, creating AND presenting their own class projects, doing math, telling time, spelling sight words, exploring nature, going on enriching field trips, and so much more [and at an affordable price, might I add]. Mrs. Della went above and beyond in every single aspect and it showed in every single one of the children. Never have I met a teacher so invested in the success of their students. We all became one big community, the children and the parents that supported Mrs. Della every step of the way helped to ensure that this was a COLLABORATIVE effort in ensuring our children’s achievement. This has been the best school year yet! Everyone here played a pivotal role in our child’s success.
Special shout outs to Ms. Jennifer for the lovely meals that she provided daily to the children, Mr. Melvin for always transporting the children safely to and from their field trips, Ms. Takisha, Ms. Farah, and Mrs. Marin for making aftercare such a delight for all of the children. Ms. Syterra for always being the smiling face at the front desk in the morning, Ms. Tashida for being the owner of this amazing facility, and last but certainly not least , to Mrs. Della Dickerson for being the absolute best teacher in the whole wide world and for being an outstanding role model to all of the students. I am PRIVILEGED to have been a parent of a Grayson Academy graduate [BLACK-owned AND veteran-owned, might I add], They have set the bar VERY high for our daughter’s next school.
P.S. if you’re thinking about summer camp here, I also HIGHLY recommend! You’re not going to find anywhere else that takes the children on as many field trips and does as much fun and enriching activities with them like Grayson Academy did ESPECIALLY at the price point that they’re charging [which was VERY reasonable]! My daughter loved every minute of it!
I pray that whoever reads this review finds this school to be as much of a blessing, if not more, than I did. I will definitely be by with my daughter again to visit and say “hi” to everyone. I hope to be back again for summer camp next year!

Huge discontent with administration! From a revolving door of teachers to deceit, retaliation to open criticism, and abrasiveness. When my daughter first started in the infant room, there was a revolving door of 7 teachers in two months (some untrained and others leaving due to admin mistreatment). Then it was the deceit…initially the director told me that I had to provide formula/food, but it wasn’t until I filled out the Feeding Form that stated that all food could be provided at no cost that the director stated that “it was not a parent’s preference.” When I stated that I wanted the daycare to provide all the food, out of spite, admin made me wait a week claiming that they had to order the food, when I have seen them run to the store to get food right away. Even the teachers did not know about this funding! Then it was the abrasiveness from the admin team, especially the owner. Whenever I expressed a concern, there was attitude and smart remarks. Concerns included revolving door, wet chest, baby sleeping in bouncer, excessive crying, taking pictures with snot running down her mouth, etc. When I defended a teacher, whose role was being diminished in the owner’s open communication to both teachers and staff, the owner responded with comments of favoritism and putting me against the rest of the staff. Last, but not least, the owner decided to cut my teacher discount after I made a comment about the huge tuition increase stating that school counselors did not qualify when she has known all along what my title was. After three attempts of removing my daughter from this facility (being the first attempt right after her first week), I finally decided to take her out as I could not take the admin unprofessionalism anymore. I do not recommend this daycare to any parent!

I have been meaning to review this facility. First off let me say thank you to Grayson Academy, you have provided a safe, educational space for my child the past 3.5 years. He started in the Twos class, moved his way through to Advance Private Pre-K, and now attends before care here. I know when I drop my child off in the mornings he is always in good hands. From the management(Mrs. Sy, Tashida, Kiesha), teachers(Mrs. Della, Eileen, Garcia, Yemisi), and assistive personnel(Mr Melvin) everyone is pleasant and welcoming. I’m so happy I found this place when we first moved to Gwinnett county. As a working mother the childcare hours are unmatched in the area.

I had the best experience putting my child on the waiting list for Pre-K and wish it was a spot available for my child to attend! The Director Syterra answered all my questions, made me feel that my child would have a sense of belonging and would be in great hands if my child attended here. It is rare to find places where you feel comfortable to take your kid with transitioning and getting older and ready for school, and I felt like that at Grayson Academy! Thank you Syterra for making my visit great!

I applied to get my son in this school through the Georgia lottery for pre-k. My husband and I went there on the 2nd of January 2023 to turn in an application. We were told we were the first ones on the list and they would contact us in May. We did not receive a call from them in May. We called Tham the first week of June to ask why we didn't receive a call in May. The director lied and told us they called and left a voice mail. My husband and I checked our call log for that day there was no call or voice mail form them. The director has the people she wants to put in the program and does not consider the application process. Just keep that in mind if you want to apply through Georgia lottery. You want to play smart with me but I have your time today. Voice mails and phone calls don't just disappear from a phone. There was no call or voice-mail to mine or my husband's phone on may 17th. When we came in January the receptionist specifically told myself and my husband that we were the first to turn in an application. So how are we magically 3rd when we were the first to turn in an application ?. This why I know you have friends or family who wanted a spot and you deliberately didn't call us in May to make a spot for your preferred people. Continue replying to my review like I said I have your time today!

I have 3 children at Grayson Academy. One started at 4 months and is now a year and a half, 2 going on 4, and 9 going on 11. My children have all developed in different ways, good days and rough ones too. We have experienced new teachers and changing classes together. It took one of out kids A WHILE to adjust to drop off every morning. But Ms. Syterra and the morning staff were always patient! But the biggest highlight I have right now in mind is the days I come in exhausted from work, sleepy from sleepless nights, and overwhelmed just from being a working mom, wife, Soldier and entrepreneur. The staff and supervisors still remain understanding, funny and graceful! The waiting list was a good one to be on.

Ok I had to write a review because this past week at pickup my toddler doesn’t want to leave! I truly believes he loves attending Grayson academy. He had a speech delay and trouble communicating with me. He is now on par for his verbal milestones and communicating through sign language as well! Miss Kenya and the staff at the front are always so nice and welcoming when you walk in. The location is secure with 2 locked doors that require a key card, as well as security cameras throughout the school. His teachers are loving and comforting toward him. He runs into Miss Mackenzie’s arms in the morning and it just makes us feel good knowing we’re leaving him with people who care for him like their own. We just put the baby on the waitlist too and can’t wait to watch her grow and thrive there as well. Thank you Grayson Academy!!!

Our son has been at Grayson Academy since Pre-K, he is now in the 5th grade and attends the after-school program. We have been pleased with the care he has received since we made the decision to enroll him.

BEST TOUR EVER!!!I’m giving this business a 5 star ⭐️. I wish I could give 100 star. This this facility is very clean, personable, and extremely professional. I came in just for tour because I have heard wonderful things about this place. After asking around for good quality child caregivers. They have superseded any expectations I may have had or concerns. Answering all questions I had and giving feedback. They have truly stole my heart. I’m very confident that our relationship will be long lasting. And my family will be in great hands most of all. Thank you ladies again for the wonderful experience.

My daughter has attended this academy for three and half years. I was on the waiting list for 6 months and I knew once I saw this place this is where I wanted her to go. I would be naive to believe every school, daycare, center, etc. will be perfect but what Grayson is, they continue to strive for the highest and maintain to be Great. They communicate well, help out the community and work well with the parents. I have sent several parents here and they approve thus far. My daughter enjoys coming to her (small school) before and after her (big school) as she calls it. They held it down during the pandemic and know how to work around situations. The G in Grayson stands for Greatness... and my child has become that being here.
