A wonderful place to find your new best friend, I have adopted two dogs from there and the last one is a pocket “Bully” who fit perfectly with me, be prepared to pay for follow up services as required by law but in the end it’s all well worth it.

The employees love their job and love animals. Highly recommend if you are looking to adopt an animal.

I adopted this beautiful girl 2 years ago now and she's come such a long way. She'll be turning 3 in February next year! She had a hard time maintaining a healthy weight when I first got her but now she's nice and fluffy! She was my first animal I adopted on my own and I'm glad I've been given the chance to give her a good life

Called CCAS to request removal of a snake in a bucket with a lid on my property. I also asked to that the bucket not be removed from the property for future events. I was told by the dispatcher that the person would call before or during the removal to I guess gain permission to enter my property. None of the above mentioned happen. Explanation given by the dispatcher after I notice my bucket missing. The employee didn’t have anything to remove the snake so he took the bucket because he forgot his equipment. This employee didn’t have the decency to call or leave a note explaining why he took the bucket and when he would return it. I had to call CCAS to request my bucket because of this lazy, slack, unprofessional and unconsidered employee.

Adopted a cat. The process was very simple. The woman who cleans the kennels, you can tell really loves her job and the animals. Everyone we reworked with as friendly.

Called to borrow a trap for a possum told the person on the phone what animal and everything, she put me on hold to make sure I could use it for a possum and that they had a trap available she said i was good to go so I get there just for them to tell me I can't get one BECAUSE they're only taking in animals that "could potentially have rabies" I reply I called about the possum they confirmed it was fine and she said I'm actually the person she confirmed with! Ok... so why?and she couldn't give me ANY answer to why she's now saying I can't when she literally said I could. I wouldn't have wasted my time or gas if she had just said no.

The staff is always kind when we have used their cremation services. They are patient when it is hard to complete the paperwork when I have been overcome with tears. We had our Boxer cremated last week, and our daughter's Boxer died unexpectedly five days later. A local vet charged her $182 for the same service that cost $75 with Columbia County Animal Services. Her cousin's pug died over the weekend (terrible week for the animals in our family). The vet's office in north Georgia tried to charge $1000 for an 11 pound dog! We are fortunate that this service is available at a price that does not take advantage of people when they are filled with sadness.

Very generous animal shelter, they give you a goodie bag complimentary and food if needed for your new pet! I got a new puppy there and I love their kindness

I brought them some donations for pets. They are always friendly. They tell me that they don't euthanize animals. They have lots of avenues they try to find a home for them. They post everybody on their website. They have had some animals stay there for 2 years looking for a home. They aren't allowing volunteers right now.

We recently adopted a dog a few weeks ago she didn't have an age listed on her. We take her to get screened for her spay surgery and they tell us she's a lot older than we thought and she has heartworm. How are you able to adopt out an animal that has heartworm now my family has to pay out 2,000 for heartworm treatment or find her somewhere else to go .We can not afford the treatment and surgery with 3 kids and only 1 of us working that is so wrong of y'all to do.

These pathetic people euthanize pets for fun… It’s disgusting the way they treat those poor animals.
