Fred's Famous Peanuts is a roadside country store located just a peanuts throw from Helen, Georgia. It is a must-stop place in the area, open during spring, summer, fall, and December. The store offers boiled peanuts that are delicious and the easiest shelling, along with fried peanuts, spicy peanuts, Cajun pork rinds, and cider. They also have a wide variety of goods like local honey, apple butter, salsas, jellies, canned goods, apples, and tee-shirts. The wonderful guys provide an amazing product, making it a cute little country store and a must-do visit.
Loved this place, really worth the stop. The fresh boiled peanuts are amazing. The fried peanuts are really good. This stop we got both of those and also peach and blackberry cider and both are so good. The man who runs the place is so sweet and so informative about all the products he sells.

Our air b-n-b was just a few minutes walk from Fred's. Glad we stopped in. The peach apple cider and Cajun boiled peanuts in particular were delicious. Everyone was very friendly and there were some samples to try as well. This place is well worth a visit if you're in the Helen area.

Very cute store. The young man running it was quick to encourage and provide samples. He also answered a lot of questions. The prices are okay, but you pay for the experience as much as the peanuts.
