Gordita review #1 It is with a heavy heart that I write this review i had to wait a while before doing so since the memories still make me extremely sadOur cat Gordita was taken to the Galilee for a grooming job ( hair shave and nails cut) up on looking at her history they informed us that she was due for vaccinations and since she was hard to handle they had to sedate her to which we agreed, they new her well since Galilee is the only vet place she had been taken to since she was born almost two tears agoWe left her there in the morning and picked her up in the afternoon, she was still out which we thought was completely normalNext couple of days she was still very sleepy and weak and we went back to Galilee, they gave her a broad slow release antibiotic and some fluids for dehydration, the vet suggested blood work and it was sent to UGA, they had already done X-rays and we still had hopes she was going to be ok but her condition got worse so again we took her back to the clinic this time we asked for steroids and benadryl something another Dr told us that given her condition should have been administered the first day to avoid posible vaccine reactions( she had suffered from epilepsy a year ago but the seizures went away and never came back)They did give it to her along with something similar to morphine, I set my alarm every four hours around the clock to check on her and giver chicken broth and electrolytes unfortunately things did not get betterFour more days went by and as soon as the pain medication started wearing off she started crying in pain extremely loud, in her last minutes she would come to us and turn her belly up so we could rub it while she was crying loud in pain a few minutes later she died in my arms, it was horrible to say the least!Gordita was 99% an inside cat, she had had neurological issues a year earlier but at the time she was ok and under no medication at all when she was taken for a grooming job.X rays and blood work came back normal and to this day they haven’t told us what caused her death, she was happy loved to eat and jump on our bed where she was actually born less than two years ago to spend time with us, she was given a big cocktail (two vaccines plus a shot for rabies plus another shot to sedate her)According to another Dr we talked to it was probably to much for to handle in just one visit plus the fact that medicine to prevent possible vaccine reactions was not administered to her earlier made things worseTo be fair the staff at he clinic has always been great, very sweet and helpful however I strongly feel that on this occasion Gordita did not get the best professional care possibleI hope this review helps someone avoid the pain we are still going throughIf your loved one is due for vaccinations please make sure your pet will be able to handle them otherwise spreading the vaccinations in a few visits may be wiseWords can not describe the pain we are going through from taking our Gordita to the vet for a grooming job to having to bury her a week later after she had suffered a very painful death is something we will never be able to get over!RIP Gordita❤️

Pretty easy to get an appt. I do like you can order med refills online and they have a texting feature. If you need a quick response highly recommend calling. The front desk staff has always been kind. The techs are very patient with our old pup!

Absolutely love this place! They truly love on your animals and care about their health and making sure they receive the best care possible. We’ve tried quite a few Vets when we moved to Jefferson and this was recommended to us by multiple people in the community. Galilee is by far the best around.!! We will never go anywhere else, thanks for going above and beyond, y’all have the team and we truly appreciate all of you!

my dog, cobain, has had severe itching for months since i got him. along with dandruff, red spots, and over all just being very uncomfortable. Within a few weeks of having him after his first initial checkup at the vet for shots, i knew he needed to go back. i took him to the place i was recommended. i wont name drop but this place let me down. they said his skin looked fine. it did not look fine. he was loosing hair and had a white sheet of dandruff over his fur. i decided to just handle it myself and i changed his diet and gave him supplements and allergy meds once in a while. finally i couldn't take it anymore, nothing i was doing was helping my baby. i called Galilee and they told me they couldn't give any info over the phone bc he wasn't a patient. respectable. and guess what! and hour later a woman called me and said they weren't excepting new patients atm but to tell her what was going on. i expressed to how bad it was and she told me her pup was like that and for the moment give him allergy meds after she had consulted with a veterinarian doctor. then she said she might have an open appt. these ppl fit me in at not only the time other their convenience but mine as well. im not going to lie, i was in the waiting room for a little longer than anticipated, but God wasn't worth it. they gave him a shot, medicated shampoo, meds, and flee/tick/mange meds. i swear as soon as he got home after that shower with the medicated shampoo... HE IS ITCH FREE AND HIS SKIN IS THE BEST IVE EVER SEEN IT!!! my baby looks so happy and he can lay down comfortably. they gave me so much information and free treats❤️ i was expected to pay a lot of money but this was honestly a fair price for the treatment and the medicine my baby received. very amazing place! she even scheduled a follow up appt to make sure he was responding to the meds good. i don't know if ill be able to go just bc money is tight for me but it just shows how caring they are. 10/10!!! everyone there is very sweet i even saw a couple faces i knew there!❤️

I have a Persian cat who needs regular grooming (shaving) and has to be sedated. The groomer at Galilee always does an excellent job and especially this last time. She received a perfect, even cut and she looks and feels great. Thank you so much from Phoebe and family.

Someone near and dear to my heart had to help her pup cross the rainbow bridge. This dog was her world. After calling a previous place that had a bad attitude and zero compassion, she found Galilee. She could not praise them enough on the compassion and sympathy they showed to her as well as her sweet pup. When I went to pick up his ashes for her they were still just as kind, with tears and all. Thank you to the amazing staff for taking care of both her and her sweet boy, Waylon.
