We love to shop for all our meats at Harris’ Meats in Homer Georgia.
Love the grass feed beef and usually get like 20 to 25 pounds at a time as we have a large family who all get together every Sunday for a family meal.
Have been shopping here for several years. Everyone is so very nice and will have your order ready if you would like to preorder ahead of picking up.

Update: after seeing your response I can honestly say wow…. I tried to call and I was told “sorry but we don’t offer refunds and we aren’t sure why the meat would be that way” basically the same excuse your saying here and just brushing it off as like my 15 min drive home and putting it in the freezer did it. I read your many rave reviews and even have sent many customers to y’all and was continually doing it and still visiting myself even though time and time again my meat was not edible because I truly loved supporting a small farm and local. I just couldn’t figure out why it was happening time and time again to me, but it wasn’t just me it was my parents as well and maybe other people have had the issue and just haven’t said anything Like myself the first few times it happened. However the really upsetting part is how you basically blame your customers for their experience, customer service goes a long way and this “explanation” was far from being understanding or even remotely apologetic. I will say this one time and one time only , but I should’ve listen to my husband when he said you should take the meat back and have them smell it…… I’m not out here just making poor reviews just to make them, I truly loved your products in the beginning and never used to have the problem. I think I’ll ask the people that I’ve sent your way because maybe they had the same issue and just didn’t say anything and decided not to go back. I wish you the best of luck and success, but I would work on your customer service because honestly I’ve been treated nicer by big companies that don’t need to care.
I have been to this meat market several times, but the last 3 times I have gone the meat has had a rancid smell. First it was the pork chops, I got home and went to put in my vacuum sealer to store and the smell about made me throw up instantly, my husband smelled it from the living room and said OMG is that the meat? He used to be a butcher so knew immediately it was bad. But I loved this meat market the previous times I’ve gone so I figured it was a one off. So I went back, the next time it was the 10lb hamburger… it was slimy and so greasy I couldn’t even ground it up while trying to brown it. It just kind of stay mushy, it was gross. My mother got the same 10lb tube as I did the 80/20 the same day and hers was the same…. But I thought ok, let me give them one more try because I like knowing I am buying local meat and not a grocery store mark up. So I went back last Friday 1/17 and I got the hamburger, 2 things of chicken breast because they were out of the 10lb bag of chicken, a roast, some St. Louis ribs, and 2 Tomahawk steaks. I was excited about the steaks, so I found a recipe on their website and compared it to a cooking website and was ready to cook one of the 2 steaks for my husband and I. I froze one and then left the other one thawed so I could cook it that night. Anyway, I go to pull it out of the package and the smell immediately hits me. It takes me back to the same smell of the pork chops, just a rotting meat smell that immediately makes me and my husband want to be sick. So I threw it away in disappointment because we didn’t want to get sick and I checked the one I put in the freezer, smelled that one and BAM, rancid smell… so that was $50 that I just threw in the trash. I’m not sure if there coolers aren’t cool enough to be storing meat or if they are selling old meat??? Regardless, I don’t want anyone to get sick and this meat could have that potential just by the smell. I checked the reviews to see if anyone had the issue besides me, but I can’t seem to find anyone, unless they have been removed. However this isn’t a one off, this is my 3rd time and 4th if you count my mom’s bad experience too. So now I have to find another butcher and try to be able to get past the smell that stays in your brain for a long long time. 🤢🤢

Good, clean meat! The workers are friendly and helpful. I’m thankful we have a local butcher who sells only grass-finished and grass-fed beef!
