“A Truly Heartfelt Experience at Once Upon a Child
I just want to take a moment to share my experience at Once Upon a Child because it truly touched my heart. I don’t usually write reviews but I had to after Today visit. I came into the store still grieving the loss of my mom a couple of weeks ago, and honestly, I wasn’t expecting much more than a quick visit. But God has a way of placing the right people in your path, and that person was Darell (or DJ).
From the moment I walked in, he greeted me with such warmth and genuine kindness. He didn’t just treat me like a customer; he treated me like a person. We ended up talking, and he shared that his grandmother had just passed this past weekend. Even while going through his own loss, he still managed to show me compassion and understanding that gave me real comfort. That kind of heart can’t be taught.
Darell or DJ truly stood out He is really God’s Child! but I also want to give credit to the other employees who were working Today. The entire team was welcoming, respectful, they was getting the store organized. You can tell they all work hard and support one another, which makes the shopping experience even better.
Still, Darell went above and beyond. His spirit, kindness, and professionalism shined bright. I truly hope God blesses him for the comfort and light he gives to others, even when he’s carrying his own pain. Once Upon a Child is very lucky to have someone like him on their team.”

Sherika went above and beyond to make sure I found everything I needed and ensured my shopping experience was smooth and pleasant. “I had an incredible salon experience at JCPenney on Sunday, March 29, 2026, with Ms. Anita. After taking out my twists, I wasn’t up for washing my own hair and remembered they had a full-service salon—and I’m so glad I went. Ms. Anita was amazing, bringing decades of knowledge and care when it comes to natural hair. In addition she even introduced me to some new products that I would have never considered using.

The only minor drawback, which has nothing to do with her, is that the salon could benefit from updating their steamers, as they are antiquated and don’t effectively steam in my opinion. Other than that, the atmosphere was a whole vibe, clean, and I’m already looking forward to coming back in three months. Came in as a stranger, left as a friend! Thanks again, Ms. Anita!

“Visited this location to see what brands they carry. Walked in and was greeted with a smile. The store was clean and organized. The service was very helpful. I found so much product and accessories my kids would love for summer and back to school. They also carry alot of Steve madden handbags. Good quality product for the price points. They also have layaway and Zip which you can pay in 4 installments every 2 weeks. That a budget saver. I definitely recommend visiting this location.”

“I will start by saying that I arrived late, as they were closing. That is my fault as I was told by a friend that they closed at 6. My fault. I was able to grab a few clothing items. When I got home I went through them and out of the 5 items 1 had a hole on the arm and 2 white items had brown spots on them. I take the blame on coming at closing however I would like to purchase items that have been looked over by staff. I do like the store as I have visited it before. Just make sure you thoroughly look at the items. I will go back!”
