I bought a pair of black high top Chuck Taylors for my 8 year old granddaughter on ($64.99+tax) 02/23/23. She wore them to school twice before the metal eyelet of the shoelace cane loose. We took them back to Journeys Kidz in Town Center mall on 03/10/23 to exchange. We were greeted with a friendly manner until we explained our situation and then things took a bad turn. The sales asc. looked into the Journey's bag, did not even check the enclosed receipt at all to see the purchase date and immediately advised" I can't take these back, I cannot sell them". Huh? Why would you want to sell a visibly defective product to another customer? He then advised all returns must be in "new condition". I requested that he look at the date of the receipt and asked him how would we know that the eyelets would come loose on the sneaker if my granddaughter never wore then ,but just kept then sitting in the box? No answer! He handed me back the sneakers and advised me again that they had been worn. I attempted several times to remind him that their (journey's) written return policy on their website advised that they will take back DEFECTIVE merchandise within 30 days. Nope, didn't not budge.As we were leaving another Asc/mamager maybe, behind the cash register ringing up another customer, yelled out across the store at my back in a snide voice" have a nice day".I turned around and responded from the doorway where I was "that her interjection was not necessary". In my 20 some years of customer service career I have never purposely tried to antagonize a paying customer, even when the answer to their request was a no, because of my company's policy. I am writing this review and have contacted the Corporate customer service team and my credit card issuer to resolve this. Just a FYI to other shoppers. I do not have money to waste on a defective shoe that my granddaughter cannot wear. Buyer beware!

This store has a bunch of kids working there. I found the shoe that I need it online prior to coming to the store so I know they had the shoe .The customer service is lacking big time. A customer should always be acknowledged when walking into the store . I'm standing at the register with the shoe that I need while I watch five employees go put boxes to the back. After standing there for a minute, one decides to ask can I help you? I tell her the shoe and the size that I'm looking for and she comes back and says they don't have it. I walk off and look for the shoe again at their store and I see that they do have it. So I asked another employee to check for that shoe size and she found it. With no problem. When I told her that the other employee said that they didn't have it. All she said was oh sorry.

This place is absolutely amazing, there's a girl there by the name Sabrina whom we always ask for when we go in which is on a regular basis seeing how we have 10 children. She is the best and most helpful person at a retail store I've ever met. So thank you Sabrina for all of your continuous help and we look forward to buying our shoes from u. Happy holidays and thank u for being such a good employee.Mrs. Mccloud!

We were last minute Christmas shopping. We asked Sabrina about a kid's size and she gave us the wrong information. Came back after Christmas to get a bigger size and she charged us for an adult sized shoe. Very disappointed with the service received

They get 2 stars only because they have a very wide selection of shoes. My husband, daughter and I walked in this store for the 1st time last night around 7pm to look for our daughter some shoes. It was 3 young ladies standing behind the counter laughing and talking. I “think” they spoke to us when we walked in. We looked at shoes for about 10mins while they stood there laughing and talking to each other... They never approached us nor asked if we needed assistance. Finally my husband said let’s go to Finish Line or somewhere else where we can get some help. I’d already saw a couple pair of shoes that I wanted to purchase and as we began to leave, I saw another pair I liked.. We turned around, went back in and asked if we could please get assistance.... We ended up making a purchase but what a terrible customer service experience!!

Looooove this store. Walked by and saw cute little Adidas for my 12mnth old. $25. I went back with hubby and we went inside. I wanted to buy everything they had for her and my 2yr old son. I spotted the sneakers but they were $35. Confused? Yes

I'm 23 but I wear between a 3.5 and 5 depending on the shoe so I shopped here. Very large selection and you can find pretty good deals and sale prices. I was pleased that there was much more than your typical children's shoes w characters on them. Staff was also helpful.
