Don't think you're going to get to adopt a dog even if you have been approved and an adoption date and time are scheduled. They will let someone else swoop in and adopt the dog and disregard everything you had scheduled. This happened to me today. I was scheduled to adopt a dog Friday evening. This was arranged yesterday (Monday). Today (Tuesday) people came to adopt another dog that they had applied for. They saw the dog I was adopting and wanted him too, so the foster let them adopt both, and to hell with me and my scheduled adoption. These people care about dogs, but they don't give a crap about people. If you schedule an adoption, don't expect to get the dog until it is in your hands.

After submitting my application to adopt and after they confirmed with my vet that we take care of our pets, this humane society refused to allow me to adopt a MALE dog because I wouldn’t agree to neuter my MALE dog. Their standards are that ALL pets should be spayed or neutered.
This place was made aware that my kids are grown and I was wanting to provide a loving home to a dog that had been severely mistreated by its previous owner. They would not respond to my email and they blocked me from their Facebook page after I went public with their standards.

They didn’t get five stars because they are not good about updating their “events” page

Have been trying to make an appointment to get my dog fixed for awhile now and cannot get in touch with anyone! I’ve heard good things about their services & pricing is awesome but they need to do better with answering their phone.

I don't know what kind of business this place is running. They won't answer their phone during times specified to call. Someone took the phone off the hook as I called. They had on their voicemail to call Friday's between 10am-1pm. It's 12pm and some picked up and said "I don't understand these people" and hung up. They took the phone off the hook and every time I try calling back there's a busy signal. No email or other contact info. Looks like they are running a scam on people, no way to get in touch.

Had a HORRIBLE experience with this shelter. The dog we adopted had more issues than were released to us and our vet informed us that she was severely malnourished, which happened under the watch of this group.
I would never tell anyone not to adopt, but I would suggest you try another shelter.

This clinic offers low-cost spay/ neuter and affordable vaccinations for both cats and dogs. These ladies also run an animal rescue, and their adoption center is next door to the clinic. Their dogs are in foster homes, and there's also a cat room and store in their adoption center.

This is a mixed review of Society and Jaildogs backed by Society of humane friends. I adopted a jaildog almost a year ago through society of himane friends. I had to take hom back the next day because he attacked my cat. So when i took him back they told me to let them know when i see one I want-email them and I could get it since I had paid the fee. Well…… after several attempts at asking questions and sending emails because I saw another one….NOT ONE TIME did I ever get a response. I finally got so frustrated I messaged jaildogs!
What a breath of fresh air that was! Lori at jaildogs was sympathetic and more than willing to answer any questions or concerns I had. Within a week I had a jaildog that I love. No thanks to sohf but to jaildogs.
Fast forward 8 months and I see a pup I want. I did get approved but messaged and told them I was doing it for the wrong reasons. I was interested in her because she looked like a former dog i had that passed in 2023. They responded only after i kept messaging them because of no response.
Later I did find a dog that would be perfect for our family dynamics and messaged to ask if I needed to fill out another app or would they just pull my last one.
Facebook messenger did respond back to email them. Geez here we go again. I did email them 4 times and never got a response. On the last email I told them how unprofessional and rude they were.
This was not the end of the story. They have a little click or circle of rescues along with them - and all of them blocked me on social media except jaildogs.
Now - you can ask anyone about what kind of home i have for animals. Ive been an unbacked all volunteer reacue for decades. I Lso sent in monetary donations to society of himNe friends and the other rescue on a monthly basis - only to be blocked when I called them out on their rudeness. “we are volunteers and do the hest we can” is not an excuse to being rude or not returning messages.
I am doing everything in my power to get the word out about this so called animal loving rescue. They are not about the best interest of animals at all. I can and will let it be known how unprofessional this place is. Its cost them several applications already and they are the exact reason I am going with a breeder. Good luck and if you adopt a fullbred be ready for issues.

The best for getting low cost vaccines for my pup. The wait is not too bad either, they offer vaccine clinic once per month so if you want to stagger your vaccines for your pet you can. My pup has gone for microchip and yearly vaccines and has had a great experience both times.

Military family recently relocated to the area and thought this would be a nice place to go but in all actuality This place literally needs to be shut down ! You are basically open collecting nonprofit funds because there is simply no reason your website states SPECIFIC dates and times to call to schedule an appointment but during those times you are picking up the phone and hanging it up on customers and actually leaving the phone off the hook. I drove alll the way to your location to schedule a appointment to be told by one person she couldn’t help but the lady that went to the bank could bug she doesn’t know when she’ll be back and the heavy set lady with the dark hair states she doesn’t schedule appointments or answer the phone so I’ll just have to come back another time , Which is rude and not what your website states. You all have no customer service at all and will be reported for the lack there of . If you can’t seem to answer the phone for two weeks straight and intentionally leaving the phone off the hook is a real problem and needs to be reported and addressed !

Really disappointed in this shelter. My wife and I were wanting to adopt a small breed puppy. We contacted the shelter and were turned down at first because they won’t place small dogs in homes with children under 6. Although we already have small dogs. My wife asked them to reconsider and we were told that puppies have “razor sharp teeth that can damage a baby’s skin”. Which is it? Too small or teeth? We have a fenced in yard, take our dogs for walks regularly, live three miles from our vet who we have a great relationship with, and would have provided this puppy a great home. Instead we had to end up going through a breeder. Everyone screams adopt don’t shop, yet shelters like these make it extremely difficult to bring home a dog.Just watch they’ll be begging on Facebook in a month due to being out of room for dogs, all while turning away loving homes.
