Did not use this company but one of their trucks came down our road and put big ruts in yard. When we called he first claimed didn't have a red truck until we sent him pictures said he would fix it but a week later still not done

I could copy Denise H's review almost word for word. I called nearly 3 weeks ago for them to pump out our septic tank. I was quoted $375 to locate and pump it out. The man on the phone, who I was later told was Andrew the owner, asked me questions about how many bathrooms, bedrooms our house has, how long we've owned it, when it was built, have we ever had it pumped before, does it have a quick access cover for pumping and the big question- do I know where it is? I answered all of the questions and told him I do not know the location but I know where the clean out pipe comes out of the house. Price quoted was $375! To install one of the easy quick access covers it would be $600. I asked how much to pump it with one of those. He said $300. I said I think we'll pass on that. We will either be moved or dead before that would pay off for us. He said they can't guarantee how bad the grass will be torn up with an excavator trying to find the tank I told him, I understand. Over the next 2.5 weeks I talked with several people who want to come on days I'm not here. I spoke with Jason, Andrew, Josh, and someone at the cell number I was given for Carter's. Finally Josh comes today and he's very nice. He tries to not tear up anymore grass than he has to with the excavator. However, he can't find the tank. He calls for help and Tony comes with another older gentleman. Tony calls environmental health dept to see if they have a schematic from the time the house was built and septic was put in. He said they will send the sketch to him on his phone if they have one. The other two keep using a probe and metal locator trying to follow the clean out pipe. Tony says environmental health must not have any info or they would have already sent it. He says he can bring in a camera to locate the tank at $400 an hour or keep tearing up our yard. I opted for tearing up the yard but he tells me later that isn't free. It will be $88 an hour to keep tearing up the yard and looking for the tank. I told him I was quoted $375 to find the tank and pump it out. He said he's sorry but that's what it will be. The older man who's doing all the work chimes in with how he's been doing this for over 20 years and the tank is either here or there but it could take all day to dig and find it and no way is that going to only be $375. I asked who makes the prices? Tony said Andrew owns the company and makes the prices but he (Tony) has the authority to change once they get in the field. I told him I was told $375 and nothing was said about a rate per hour for labor and Andrew knew I didn't know exactly where the tank was. Tony said let me explain what Andrew meant. I said, you explain when someone doesn't understand a statement. I wasn't told anything about it costing more than $375 so there's nothing to explain. I told him you don't tell a customer a price then get to their house and start adding on cost the customer should have been made aware of in the beginning. I said that's duping like a bait and switch and that's wrong. He said well we can't do it for $375. I said then pack it up and go. They did rake the dirt, grass and pine straw back that they had torn up but I didn't pay them and I won't. Don't think what they quote you is the price it will be. I trusted these people at their word. By the way, I called Floyd County Environmental Health, gave them my address, subdivision and lot number for them to look up my inspection report from when my house was built. They had it with a drawing of my septic tank location. Don't use these people.

Very happy with the prompt and efficient service I received from Carter's to get my tank pumped out. Also had a new tank cover/lid installed that extends up to ground level to allow access to the tank without having to dig down to the tank. Josh and Adrian did a fine job. Very nice young men and a pleasure to talk to.

We had just moved into a house with septic, reportedly last serviced the previous year. I called, told him the size of the tank and that I would like it emptied so we could start afresh on our own, and although it seemed to be working fine, we just wanted it checked for any issues. I got a quote and it was a little bit less than all my other quotes so I scheduled them to come out. When the guys arrived, they said that they'd empty it, but said the price was going to be about $200 more than what he quoted me over the phone. When I mentioned that's not the price we had agreed upon, he basically asked me to prove it to him. So I came inside and got the papers I'd taken all my notes on for all the quotes and showed him the better price I'd written down. He said that was for a smaller tank. Not true, I told the guy over the phone that I had a larger tank. When they finally did open everything up, it did need draining because the pump had gone out. The guy said they could pump out the tank, but they couldn't do it for the lower price because "it was just too full". This is when they also told me they don't work on septics with drip systems. I didn't know I had a drip system, I had no idea what that was, just that they weren't qualified to fix them. I ended up paying them the full amount and had to get another company to come out and fix it later. This was all frustrating, but the reason I am even mad enough to write this review is that the guys kept telling me "Your husband should do this..", "Your husband should be looking for this...", "This is how your husband would clean this..." etc, etc. I didn't say anything, but I do NOT have a husband. I am a woman who was home alone and felt very taken advantage of in the moment. So when I called the company/owner back while they were here to ask about the price difference, ask about why they couldn't work on my system, etc, I told him that I myself (yes, a woman with no husband) was the one who would be handling this and I felt like I was being misled, taken advantage of, etc. He became irate, yelled at me for even implying that he didn't like woman ("I have a wife of 20+ years and a drop dead gorgeous daughter"...not sure why that last part was relevant), then he hung up on me and immediately called his guys in the yard to leave mid job. I convinced the guys to at least stay and finish pumping everything out, but the whole experience was exhausting.

I called these guys to pump my septic tank. They quoted $375 to locate and pump. They came out and couldn't find it. Looked for over an hour. Told us they'd have to charge an extra $88 an hour to look for it. Never found it. They knew where to start but couldn't follow the pipe. Now my husband will have to do it. Not happy at all with their work. Ended up costing and $426 and nothing was done. Highway Robbery
