I would like to start off by saying I am an Air Force veteran who has served the country. I had the worst experience ever at the Budget Rental location located at 960 Thornton Rd Lithia Springs, GA 30122. I reserved a car on March 28th and chose the prepay option to pay in advance. Upon arriving I wasn’t properly greeted by the desk agent named Mary. I thought well maybe she is having a bad day and brushed it off. She proceeded to ask for my license and credit card, which I provided. She then stated there was some type of error and that I had to be charged the amount of the rental and the deposit amount which was totaling over $600. I pointed out that I prepaid the rental cost, which the desk agent Mary stated she also saw the prepayment in their system. She then calls her manager who was not at the location named Quinton. Mary made a snickering laugh over the phone as she was speaking with her manager as if something was funny about the situation. She then proceeded to tell me that her manager stated that this happened to someone before and that I had to be charged again because the prepayment would drop off my credit card. I explained to Mary and showed her on my phone that the prepay amount had already lowered my credit card balance and that I should only have to pay the deposit. This was very inconvenient as I really needed a car at the time. I asked if they accepted debit cards which she rudely said yes but stated I had to go all the way home to get a utility bill etc and that she would not print off any bill if I sent it to her via email. I called budget customer service while still at the rental location. Mary stated there’s nothing they can do for you. The customer service agent over the phone agreed this location should give me the vehicle and charge the deposit seeing that the prepayment amount was already pending my account. The customer service agent on the phone was very apologetic and they she was very sorry for the inconvenience I was experiencing. I never got a rental or any type of accommodation and I became extremely frustrated and agitated. I told Mary I get that situations happen but her demeanor and lack of customer service made me feel like I was inconveniencing her vs me the customer being inconvenienced. I also pointed out that the customer service lady over the phone was more apologetic and showed more empathy than Mary at the actual location. At the end of the interaction Mary claimed that my card would be refunded within 3-5 days for the prepayment amount over $300. Fast forward it is April 2nd the amount did not drop off my card, in fact my card was fully charged for a rental I never received. I called customer service and learned that Mary never cancelled the reservation, resulting in my credit card still being charged. I am very disappointed and most likely will never rent a vehicle through budget again.

I was having a bad few days due to unexpected car repairs and needed to rent a car urgently. I worked with Mary and she was amazing. Very professional, very helpful and turned my frown upside down. This was my 1st time renting from budget and will definitely be returning for all future rental needs. Thanks Mary for making my experience pleasant :)

The check in process was smooth. The lady with the short hair cut was professional and was accommodating due to the fact that the vehicle that I reserved was unavailable, she addressed my concerns and made an accommodating solution. However, returning the vehicle was I was disrespected and the person who checked me out with the dreads was so unprofessional. It was a disgusting and unacceptable experience. I would never rent with them again due to the heavy set lady w/the dreads that checked me out. She needs retraining ASAP.

Hello, I rented a Pickup Truck Ram 3500 from Budget in Lithia Springs GA Sept 16th 2023 I originally booked it till Sept 20th. I ran into car problems on the road Sept 18th. I had my 5 month old baby and my 11 yr old sons in the car and the car had exhaust problems burned my gas up very quickly everytime I stopped to get gas it was taking very long to start up and was cutting off on me as well. I was in Columbus OH when I was able to do a exchange that took them 9 hours to rectify the situation and had to go to 3 different budget car rental places as well just to end up getting a smaller truck that could not fit all my household items in the truck i had to exchange for and end up having to get a uhaul hitched trailer to fit all my items. I was told I would be compensated half of the $311 that I originally paid and would be giving 2 free days tooking off my final rental receipt. I was stuck at the budget rental place for 9 hours ended up having to pay extra to uhaul to get my items to fit and ended up having to borrow from neighbors to make sure me and my sons got back to Georgia safely with enough money for the trip back. I had to end up extending the vehicle out longer to Sept. 24th to do all I needed to do in the first place because of the stand still I had and Im still currently at a hault on the plans I had because of these inconveniences. Everything I was told I would be compensated for I was not compensated for and I was overcharged on the final bill and no one is telling me why. I was told my bill would be $355 total to rent until sept 21st and it would would $480 to rent to sept 23rd so im trying to understand how it got to over $1000 to rent till Sept 24th in total. I have the conversation between me and every agent I spoke with recorded just so I can have for my reference because I was told I could not get a copy of my case emailed to me. I've Escalated this matter a few times everytime someone telling me it would be resolved.Case #59093534Rental Agreement #840101522

Over charge when you extend rental.. very bad liars and im taking them to small claims court for sure
