A warm place to stay in an area that lacks hotel accommodations. When visiting your loved one in Stewart, you are treated with respect in this house.

I went this weekend with my 4 children to see their father who is detained and I found this place and it was a blessing for us. Our situation is very difficult right now and to be able to go visit him without stressing about where to stay was very helpful for us. Thank you so much for all you do and God bless you all.

El Refugio is a wonderful nonprofit organization that gives the families of detainees at the private for-profit detention center in Lumpkin, GA, a place to stay while visiting relatives. Stewart Detention Center is intentionally located in a small impoverished town far from everything, so it is hard to visit. Stewart is the largest detention center east of the Mississippi. El Refugio is a glimmer of mercy and compassion in a dark time of institutionalized cruelty and racism in this country. Detainees at Stewart are denied basic human rights and many have no idea when they will be released. I visited the detention center, and I met with a young man who's serious medical problems were being ignored. I highly recommend supporting El Refugio. My hope is that one day it will be illegal to profit off the suffering and detention of refugees trying to flee violence and oppression in other countries. Thanks for everything you do to help vulnerable and exploited people, El Refugio.

I thanked God for allowing me to see that even He has people with a pure heart working for God. I proclaim in the name of Jesus that El Refugio is part of the body of Christ in which Jesus is the head. Because of the work and the way in which they are led with love, the strength and power in which they operate in Grace is notable in the spirit. of God doing such arduous work.

This place helped me with an over night accomodations and made sure I was comfortable. The people were very nice and even helped out with my travel expenses to get back home. God Bless what they are doing to help families of the Incarcerated stay connected.

I was in this place a week and a half ago and my experience in this place was very nice, from the moment I walked through the door they were very kind, very friendly, the place is very nice, the rooms are very nice, clean, they give you food in your space and very good energy even though you are going to see a person you love in that city but they make you have a good time, thanks to Laura, Genesis, God bless you

This is an amazing ministry. The compassion and love shown to those who are going through some very hard times is incredible. What a great example of Christ's love.
