This place is the absolute worst of all the rental company I ever been too for a car they tell u ine thing and then tell u another when u getbto the rental company and the old lady in the front t need to onbed rest she is so slow and don't know nothing at all

This location has absolutely no integrity or customer service. Stay away if you can and utilize the Warner Robins location. They never have cars and when they do, the cars are unsafe and in need of repair. If you want to rent a car with the oil light on once you get in, ruined tires, unclean and damaged interior, or batteries needing a jump before you even place a deposit, then this location is perfect.In my recent reservation, I prepaid nearly $1200 and weeks in advance. This still did not secure a rental for myself where I was told by the counter staff that they don't understand why people prepay since it doesn't guarantee anything. What a despicable practice.Front staff are rude and can never manage inventory properly. Nothing is ever prepared and when they fail to provide their ONE service as a rental agency, they are disrespectful, impatient, and uncaring. Rent somewhere else!!!!

I wanted to believe the plethora of negative reviews here were outliers but I’m here to join them in warning others away from Avis. The airport is lovely but the agent for Avis was not particularly helpful, the person who handed me my keys let me know the car was dirty and asked if that would be okay or if I’d rather wait. I was okay with the crumbs and mud until I returned the car and was charged an additional $230 in fuel (refilled the tank and had to put air in the tires too, which is stressful when traveling). I returned the car late but was charged for an additional hour AND an additional day. When I questioned the charges I was given a phone number. It’s a long list of menu options to get to an actual person and will take days to receive a refund, which was given reluctantly. I really cannot recommend Avis. I think next time flying into Macon I would Uber to a different rental agency - spending money to save money and for peace of mind!

DO NOT HAVE CARS!!! (EVEN FOR RESERVATIONS) Be careful if you attempt to rent a car from this location. They “regularly” (according to the person who works there) do not have cars when customers make reservations. In the hour I was there, there were several of us who had bookings and couldn’t get cars, because there weren’t any.The issue seemed to be other customers who were due to return their cars failing to show up on time. But the staffer also was not willing/able to call another Avis to even see if they had other cars available to send over (either proactively or when I requested it).This is a low volume airport (2 flights/day in/out), so it’s not realistic to expect Hartsfield-like options. But, as Seinfeld said, “taking” the reservation is only helpful if you “hold” the reservation. This Avis location is struggling with the second part.Skip renting here and go with Turo… I have used them several times in Macon for a slightly lower cost and much higher reliability.From the other reviews on Google this is clearly a consistent issue. Not sure how Avis handles franchises that continually have customer issues, but hopefully their social customer support team will escalate this pattern to their ops team.

Very bad experience. I had a booking 1 month prior and not only they didn't have the car i booked a month ago and confirmed a day before, they did not even have any cars available to rent. The lady at the counter was very arrogant and obnoxious. She tried to put the blame on another employee and was very rude, trying to say it was our fault to ask for a car. I would never rent from here again, even if I am stranded in Macon. This place should have real rental companies and not companies that run from a basement in Ohio.

Prepaid for rental at beginning of June. $337. Debit card used was compromised and locked 2 weeks later. Got new card.Trip plans fell through and spent all day today trying to cancel reservation. Tried 7 times. 3 of those times was told it was canceled the other 4 times was told it couldn't be canceled. Tried every number I could find and kept getting routed to the same foreign speaking answering service who only knew only what was read from script.Finally figured out the reason no one could cancel is because the card I used had been blocked due to being compromised 2 werks ago.I also went to the actual pick up location and was told prepay can't be canceled. What?Solution to my problem was to cancel, not get a refund and have the 50 dollar cancelation fee reported to the credit bureau. Why? Because they had no card on file for me. Their " system" cannot just simply add my new debit card, refund my money and charge new card the 50 dollar fee.Not sure what to do since there is absolutely no way to talk to anyone else.Listen to these reviews and run as far and as fast as you can from Avis and Budget. How they're still in business is beyond me.

I had a reservation confirmation in my email 3 DAYS PRIOR. Walked in to pick it up and they said they didn't have me on the list and they were out of rentals. The Karen at the front counter was so unprofessional and didn't want to help at all. If this is the last place on earth to rent a car, I'd rather walk.

They had me pre-pay for a car. It was an emergency - my car died on a trip on Sunday and Avis was the only open option. Got towed back to my house, but canceling the reservation meant forfeiting $150. Changed the reservation to Monday for free, including pick up and drop off locations. Got a call from the local office Monday morning saying they didn't have a car for me. This time, because it was their fault, I got a full refund. Called a competitor and rented a comparable car that was available in an hour for half of the Avis pre-pay amount.

We have rented from this location over 10 times (it’s the only location within 50miles) and each time there has been an issue! I was explicitly told that we could return our rental keys to the Dropbox. I followed and was charged over $200.Another time we prepaid for a vehicle to take our daughter to college. This location called us 2 hours before pick up saying they “don’t have our vehicle”. They refused to help us located an alternative option. We ended up driving to ATL, and when we returned the car they attempted to charge us a drop fee.This current rental was not even put in the system! When we had an issue with the vehicle and attempted to exchange at another location it appeared as if we stole the vehicle! The vehicle needs an oil change and tire pressure lights are on. 1800 say we have to wait 3 days for it to input before we can exchange. NO COMPENSATION.. 3 days of our trip wasted!They never answer the phone and are extremely unprofessional. I do not recommend using this location.
