Sometime it is not how an experience start, but how it ends, it is true some improvement can be made, meeting Gloria the warmth made the difference, Montago, breaking.the ice with Marilyn as she worked to accommodate,. Douglas, Mr Scholar (embalming)thanks for your honesty, very much appreciated and others, as it ends up Iwill definitely use your services again.

My mother passed away on December 8, 2019 in Macon, Georgia. At the time of her sudden death the family was very depressed and shocked. My sister called Bentley and Sons funeral home without discussing the choice. I had problem with it considering I've seen their work with pass love ones and friends who've passed. The unprofessionalism started from the time the rude staff from Bentley and Sons picked my mother up from the hospital. First of all he showed up alone walked right passed our grieving family got the paperwork from the nurses and proceeded to transport my mother's body out the door. He never acknowledged us. Once her body was ready for viewing I didn't recognize her. She was in life a light skin lady but in death she was brown skin with too much makeup which she never wore. The family decided to have a wake at one location but was later told that location was not available. The day of the wake no one at the funeral home remember that a wake was scheduled. Then at the last minute they removed the body to the Chapel which was not really for service because it was very cold because the heat wasn't turned on prior to service. To add insult to grieving the staff who transported my mother came up to me and lied in my face and said he did speak once he arrived to pick my mother up which he did not. There were so many excuses and apologies from the staff and the funeral director who admitted it was his fault the Chapel wasn't ready. They made me feel even worse in the most difficult time of my life. Finally the day of service the police escorts were late to lead the funeral procession. Two months later my sister shows up to pick the death certificates up but was informed they weren't ready. Totally unprofessional. I would never recommend this funeral home ever to anyone. When my elderly father passes if I'm alive to see it I will not choose Bentley and Sons funeral home.

I really don’t even know where to start. Families dealing with grief shouldn’t have to deal with a funeral home with a mediocre mentality. You all need to keep in mind not every person has planned a funeral before. Each step of the process should be fully explained or at least written out so that the family is aware what is needed and when to ensure they are not scrambling at the end to take care of the fine details.For starters my nephew’s death date and birthday were mixed up. We asked at LEAST three times for it to be corrected but it was not. It could have been a honest mistake from my sister when she first met with them because the dates were both in July but once it was asked to be corrected it should have immediately been done. There are so many things I want to say about what we weren’t told as part of the planning process but luckily for my sister I had some idea of what needed to be done but I was not on payroll.Fast forward to the graveside services and well it left so much to desired. It was not personable at all. The “staff” had no idea what was going on. The lady we chose to do the prayer also read the scripture as well. I personally sent the order of services with question marks for the scripture and eulogy. It would have been nice for someone to contact us to ask if we had anyone. We were under the impression the funeral home had spiritual leaders when the family doesn’t have anyone appointed. I could have found someone if told we needed to provide someone but not one person told us anything. They asked at the service who would deliver the eulogy. Like where they do that at??? That is NOT the time to ask something as important as that. Then to add insult to injury the blanket they presented had my nephew’s name spelled wrong. Where did y’all find that at? When we told Mr. Bentley’s daughter the name was wrong her response was “oh is it?”. Yes ma’am it is and it needs to be fixed. I wouldn’t let them bury my dog and I won’t even get into how they handled us when my aunt passed away a few years ago. We ultimately had to move her to Richardson because of Bentley’s unprofessionalism. So when I write this review just know it is about more than this one situation. Bentley won’t ever get another dime of my money. My nephew only stayed here because it was my sister’s wish. Get it right or get out the business!!!!! As a business owner myself it is sickening to feel preyed on in a situation where most people are not thinking clearly. I’m truly truly disappointed.

Very unprofessional, they kept my dad in a freezer for 3 weeks after they said he would be on the way to Roberta the same day we paid them in full on day 1. And they need a bigger office and not just for the visitors but give the corpse enough respect to have a seperate section when getting the dead ready for a funeral instead of just down the hall from the waiting room where the visitors can see who is in the casket by just opening the door.

One of the hardest decisions I ever had to make was to put my Dad on Hospice care. In 2 days God whispered and said come home my son.After that the most beautiful angel (Marilyn) from Bentley took over and help me prepare an amazing homecoming for my Dad.Words can't express how good my Dad look.which made my heart Melt ❤..i would recommend Bentley &Sons to anyone who wants the Best..Vanessa Rucker

They all treated us like we was part of their family. My father pass away March 27 and Bentley and son helped us buried my father Eddie Smith. My dad didn't even have life insurance. They were very patient with us. God bless Bentley and son funeral home and all his workers.
