I graduated in 2001 and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting up with my fellow alumni and current Mercer Law School students at the 150th year anniversary celebration at the Grand Opry in Macon. I saw mentors. Chris Clark and Professor Sabbath and Chief Justice Boggs and former Chief Justice Hines! Thank you Mercer Law School for a great career and sense of belonging and community. Hope to see you at the Alumni Dinner in March 2024 Professor Baldwin and others.

Extremely racist institution.

If you are any kind of identifiable minority, I DO NOT recommend this institution. You do not want to spend $40k a year to be oppressed in thought and speech, by professors who have a “do as I say, not as I do,” mentality. Several Mercer Law Professors and Staff are happy to preach lofty standards to include equity, ethics, and opportunity, but in mass do not practice their own teachings in everyday application. As a legal institution, Mercer Law has work to do to better themselves. It will take several staff changeovers to actually enforce real meaningful change that will ever make this institution welcoming to minority students. To the small, small fraction of Professors and Staff who live according to their own teachings, thank you. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed – just overwhelmingly overshadowed.

This Law School has not responded to the notices of their student Stephen Ryan Furtrell Jr racially harassing his black woman neighbor, Cynthia Erivo, through yelling racial slurs through the wall and has verbally threatened her life. Cynthia has emailed you multiple times. Respond now before media attention increases and you risk your schools reputation decreasing. Be Moral.

I wish I didn’t have to give a star to express how I feel .. but as a law school I find it completely unacceptable that your letting a student by the name Stephen Ryan furtrell jr continue to attend . Stephen is a racist & “oops just joking” doesn’t hold him accountable at all ! This needs to be addressed on all levels !

This law school refuses to discipline and address the racist remarks of one of its own students. Instead, they turned off the comments on Instagram and limited their posts. I hope this school shuts down because they are not doing their job at all.

It has become to my attention that this school is possibly ignoring a case of racism from one of their law students. My fear is it is to the hope it will just go away and to issue an apology later about how unacceptable it was after ignoring it.

Please respond to the social media regarding Stephen Ryan Furtrell racists remarks to his next door neighbor. As a institution for law this should be deemed unethical.
