“While the post office was closed (opens at 9 supposedly). The marble and old style ceiling and mailboxes was awesome to see. Too bad they don't make buildings like this anymore. The downside is the outside mailbox was stuffed to the gills where letters already dropped off were filling the entry slot, so it was necessary to park at a metered parking spot just to drop off a letter in the insid mail slot.
No interaction with employees occurred because it was 830am and lobby window was not open yet, although the lobby itself was open.”
“The bad reviews are from people who don’t realize they are reviewing this specific facility, not all of the USPS in Macon. The people here are nice, good at their jobs, and very helpful.”
“Super friendly staff but they need more staff. Severely understaffed at the retail counter. Also, gettinga claim handled when you are required to present an item for inspection should be an easy routine thing but they make it hard, probably on purpose, like they have never done it before. Even if you have the letter from USPS in your hand they act like they don't know what to do. Could be better.”
“The carrier we have is horrible. Not unusual for us to receive other peoples mail. I just picked up my mail. The carrier had just left about 5 minutes previously. In my mailbox was a form that stated Sorry we missed you while you were out. So now I have to make arrangements to have the letter redelivered or else go pick it up myself. Obviously the carrier was just too lazy to walk up the driveway.”
