Washington Memorial Library is a true Macon treasure and one of the nicest libraries around. It is a great place for learning, research, and families, described as awesome and beautiful. The staff are consistently knowledgeable, polite, informative, kind, helpful, and professional, often going above and beyond. They are a great help and make an effort to know their visitors. The library offers a surprising array of books, including new best sellers and a great selection for Georgia and its counties. It features an Adult Fiction section, a genealogy room with amazing resources, and an astounding archives department. The environment is super quiet most of the time, making it an excellent place to study, work, or get some reading done. It is a recommended place for college students, visitors to Macon, and local residents. They host many events perfect for young readers and their families and provide services like free computer classes. The process for getting a library card is super easy. It is a great place to spend several hours, whether for serious research, taking a proctored exam, or simply discovering new books and resources.
Great place to take the wife and the children. It is a place for learning a place for research just an overall great place one of the nicest libraries that I've been to in a long time. A true Macon treasure and the help there are definitely what they are, a great help.
